Good outdoor venue, but parking issues 12/24/2005

Nice place to see a show. You can enjoy a concert under the stars. If you're lucky to get pit tickets, the pit is really small. You don't even have to arrive at the venue early to be up close. However parking is a major issue. $10 and you park on some unpaved lot. The cars are stacked one in front of the other so if the car in front of you doesn't move, you can be stuck there for an hour. After the show, they divert you away from the residential area on Vermont (unless you get the really expensive VIP parking) and make you take this long, dark, and rather scary detour up a hill that empties into what I believe is Western Ave. more

The Greek is cool 12/19/2005

It sure is cool, it usually gets pretty misty at night. But it is a really nice venue for a concert. It is nestled up hill in Griffith Park and the acoustics are very good. Capacity is somewhere around 6,000, so when really big acts play there, it feels very intimate. Parking is a drag, though. I usually park in Los Feliz and walk. Otherwise, it's great. more

I love this theatre but it does have some flaws... 11/17/2005

The Greek is a beautiful outdoor theatre and is my favorite venue for a concert. Fresh air and the stars! Don’t forget sometimes it gets chilly so bring a jacket and check the weather. Parking is 10 dollars and it takes a long time to pay then park your car and after the concert you have to find your car and fight the traffic out. If you have the energy to hike up the hill I would recommend parking your car at the bottom of the hill, it’s worth it. The only other thing I can to mention is the venue is in a residential area so the concerts usually end right on time or before they are finished because of local noise laws. more
