Solid Cardiology Internal Medical Practice 12/16/2010

Solid Medical Practice, ...busy which means they have a loyal following thats a good thing. There is sometimes a wait because they accommodate emergencies on very sort notice so that you do not have to sit in the ER ( a big plus). Recently affiliated with NYU a top medical center, plus LIJ, North Shore and St. Francis. I feel a good doctor is worth waiting for, I wait much longer for a table at Peter Lugers's and thats just for a good meal. more

LONG WAIT HERE..but worth it. 10/31/2010

I've been with this practice since 1999 and the average time from sign in to walking out is about 3hrs. The staff could be little more professional but I've gotten used to them over the years. Yes, it is more quantity than quality. However, once you see Dr. Schwarzwald you will find it is worth it. I was going to drop him in May 2005 after another long wait but then he first discovered I had thyroid cancer ( he was correct) In late 2005, he suspected I had another cancer, multiple myleoma...he was correct. Then other medical problems surfaced. If he is not sure about something or just wants to double check, he will refer you to someone else that is good. In essence, this man helped saved my life. My wife, her aunt and uncle now go to him. If you don't like to wait, don't come. However, use the time in the waiting room to do other thing. Trust me, the wait is worth it. more

FRUSTRATING 11/11/2008

Yes the practice is poorly run. Over booked, rude & unprofessional office staff. I see two MDs at that practice, Dr Schuval & Dr Spivak. MY wait times for Dr Schuval are usually anywhere from 10- 30 min. He is rushed but does listen to what I have to say. It has become more and more obvious to me that he is rushing more and pressured to move through the visits quickly. My wait times for Dr Spivak are another matter. In the last year and a half I have made 3 appointments to see him and have walked out each time after waiting anywhere from 1 - 1 1/2 hours to be seen. I feel that no doctor is worth that much of my time. So I have yet to have a visit with Dr Spivak in almost 2 years ! When you go to the receptionist to inquire how long the wait will be the pt is told that it is the office policy not to disclose how long the wait will be or how many patients are ahead of you. It is unfortunate because Dr Spivak is a good doctor. Seems that the goal of the practice is volume, not good personalized care.\r I will say that the office staff are unprofessional. The young ladies working there are rude, snippy and lack any grace or concern for the patienmts that pass throught the doors of the practice. Even making an appointment can be a frustrating task. Pros: GOOD DOCS Cons: Long wait times, rude office staff, MDs that are rushed more

Horrible. 10/10/2008

Every negative stereotype about a poorly run medical practice can be found here. After a 2 hour wait, you see the doctors and nurses for a few short minutes and they're out like a whirlwind. You don't get the feeling that the doctor actually cares about you- they just want your insurance information. Pros: Nothing. Cons: Overbooked more

Horrible Medical Practice 8/4/2008

This practice is truly, truly awful. Rather than a medical practice, it is run solely as a business, with incredibly nasty receptionists. They are unhelpful, and very unkind. The nurses too, are nasty. As an example, they took 7 vials of sanguine fluid from me, and when I asked what they were testing for, she literally threw the piece of paper at me, without a word. When she was finished, she said simply ""I'm done"". As I was severely dehydrated, the reason for my visit, I asked for juice, and was told I could go get myself a sip of water from the fountain. \r \r Every time I have gone there, be it for a headache or swollen knee, I was seen for a total of one minute by the dr., then given a prescription for antibiotics. \r \r In short, the place is horrible, crowded, and the staff are unprofessional and rude. Pros: Location Cons: Service, wait time, treatment, everything. more

kind and compassionate 12/30/2007

I have been a patient of dr. schwarzwald for many years and he is kind, caring, compassionate and a great doctor. You will love him. My whole family sees him, as do my elderly, aging and very ill parents. Nothing but great things to say. His office can be very busy but when you see him he is worth the wait. Pros: kind, compassionate, smart, takes lots and LOTS of time with you Cons: office staff more
