I am just so upset... I do not even know where to begin.. I am thankful that I am not the only person who has experienced the total lack of respect, privacy, and scheduling problems. My minor daughter was referred here by MCNA. I waited a month and a half for just a consult... then another month and a week for her extraction for a compacted tooth. When I brought my daughter in ( after missing a day of school, and having my husband miss a day of work to sit with our other child )... I was looked at and talked down to like a fool, and told.. You do not have an appt. for today. I had the appt. on my calender for over a month and even called to confirm because of scheduling problems prior. I complained about the time waisted, etc. Just to be treated like they could care less. I told the receptionist I wanted to speak with the Dr., and was refused. I went to the other desk, and was told in a whisper that I DID have the appt. that day, but the appt. was cancelled per Dr. order!!!!!!!! My daughter started to cry when she heard she would have to wait any longer because of her pain. Then they resceduled for the following week. When I got home, at 5pm I had a voicemail saying that the Oral Surgeon decided she would not see my daughter and to find another doctor!! After 3 months of waiting! Never go here unless you have a bunch of time and peace of mind to waste. more

I will start out by saying this place I know for a fact has to bring in $5K a day successfully to keep their crapy manager! That is what this business is based on!!! As long as the money is coming in she stays! So on that note, they will tell you things are covered, and they're not!!! And you end up paying to find out you really didn't have to!!! Its fraud, and I just received finally after 6 months a portion of the money they owe me! Still waiting on another $66!!! Calling corporate doesn't seem to help because they don't RETURN call either! Disgusted with this office!!!!! AVOID THIS PLACE IN FEATHER SOUND!!!! You will save yourself and your family a lot of money and stress!!!!! Not to also mention the staff is always new and the appointments are ALWAYS screwed up!!! more

Horrible, horrible place! They try to sell you everything making you feel as if you need it. Dr. Henwood is a robot and cares nothing about her patients. Office staff schedule appointments incorrect. Yesterday was 3rd visit since November to have 1 cavity filled. Instead, they had my have 3 appointments for cleanings and each time they told me to come next time to have cavity filled after I scheduled it each time. No one cares about my time I have to use to come there, much less pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for cleanings. Dr. henwood refused to see me, knowing that I was rescheduled a few times from the office staffs mistake. Also, the chairs are filthy dirty. Stay far, far away!!!!!! more

I've been a client at Great Expressions in Carillon for many years and the last several visits have been nothing but issues. The cleanings are always pleasant and the dentist is nice enough for the minute or two that I actually see her, but the front desk staff are unorganized, unprofessional, and none of them seem to know what they’re doing. I’ve been charged for simple cleanings that I shouldn’t have been charged for had they entered my insurance information properly. You’d think after providing them with it time after time (same insurance I’ve had for over a decade) they might get it right. As it turns out they had signed me up for their own Great Expressions insurance without my knowledge and charging me for services my true insurance would have covered. After dropping off my insurance information AGAIN, I get a call later that afternoon saying they can’t find it and asked that I bring it by again. To top it off, I got a call from the Great Expressions in Boston about a month ago letting me know I’d be charged for a visit I didn’t show up for. Why would I go to Boston to get my teeth cleaned? I live in St. Pete! Clearly I’m a glutton for punishment because I returned for an appointment recently thinking everything had finally been cleared up. After waiting 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment time my name is finally called, but only to tell me they’re working on my insurance now. Really?!! I let them know that wouldn’t be necessary because I wouldn’t be needing their services any longer. more

This place is nothing more than a clinic in a nice building. It is in Carillon, so one would expect a nice dental office. Don't count on it unless you like a clinic environment. That means one big room with only a half-wall separating you from the other patients. Listening to the sound of people getting their teeth cleaned or people getting their teeth drilled 5 feet from you is terrible! It's bad enough when you are in a room at a normal dental office and hear the muffled sound of the drill. But when it is close enough to touch, it is gross. I don't know how they pass HIPPA laws for patient privacy, because there sure isn't any privacy in this place. I heard EVERYTHING the dentist said the the man next to me, and frankly, I didn't want to hear any of it! I was so appalled that I left, and I commented to the lack of privacy to the front desk manager. She said since I didn't know the person it was ok for them to speak openly. I don't think so...plus, they have no idea who I know, and I am not into other people--strangers even--hearing what the dentist says to me. If you like a big room so you can share the dental experience with other folks, then by all means go here. But if you like a professional set-up, go elsewhere. Oh, and the magazines in the waiting room were from 1998 and 2002 and 2003!!! And when I mentioned this to them they said they knew. They just don't care.
