I had picked out a specific Lot in Towne Square (Huntertown,IN) that was closer to the culdesac for my 3 year old son, and had a nice, long backyard. The GR Realtor had me sign the papers for the lot that I had chose so we could get started building. Shortly after that they started building quickly; so quickly that when I went to see my house to do a walk through with the electrician a week or so later, I came to realize that my house was on the wrong lot!!! It was the lot on the right side on the lot that I had chosen. The lot was further away from the culdesac and the back yard is non-existent! It is basically a small hill. I immediately called my Realtor and he said, ""No, that is not your lot!"" It was not at all what I wanted for my first home. I explained that I didn't want the home because it wasn't what I wanted. The Realtor spoke with the owner, Tony Reincke. Mr. Reincke's response was that I had to move forward with the home and keep it or They would sue me for at least $8,000 for their mistake! I felt that I had no choice and moved in. I loved the home, just not the lot location and especially not the yard. My son has nowhere to play and there is nowhere to have a cookout, hang out etc. There is also a huge ravine /trench between my home and my neighbors that both of us have discussed with Granite Ridge to fix. Nothing has been done. My neighbor tried to fix it, but whenever it rains, it comes back and we have a pond at the bottom of the yard. This is extremely dangerous and nothing ever is taken care of. \r \r I am not sure what to do. I feel that we definitely got taken advantage of. The end result will be me spending thousands of dollars to create a retaining wall to try to create some kind of a back yard. more

Be extremely careful building with Granite Ridge. I built a nice home with them in 2006 in their Pinestone addition. Now they have built several Spec homes and leased/sold them to Group Homes that shelter people that require 24hr care. Some of these residents have known ""Issues"" and are not supervised very well. It is to the point that the police are engaged almost weekly and the neighborhood is becoming unsafe for our children. This Builder needs to rethink their business practices!!! more

I built with Granite Ridge 2 years ago. They used quality products and materials. My house was finished when they said it would be, and were more than willing to satisfy my above normal demands. The job supervisors were all friendly and knowledable. Also the decorators and thier design studio made selections easy. I would definitely build with Granite again. more

I would like to recommend Tony Reincke and Granite Ridge Builders as an excellent home builder. I have lived in my home for several years and have had no problems. It has been a well built house and the upkeep has been very minimal. If I have had concerns, they as builders have answered my questions immediately. more

Everything seemed to be going great with Granite Ridge until I asked for ANYTHING special. They were completely put-out by any request I had, even if I was paying for it. In fact they ignored my request for a different company to install my cabinets and countertops. They were put in without a second thought, and I had to contact my cabinet company and let them know the job was already done.\r \r Once your home is built, they walk you through an inspection. Dan, the man walking me through mine, claimed they would fix anything from 6 feet and down. My response was, ""I paid for everything from roof to floor, so you'll fix anything that needs repairs from roof to floor."" He didn't like hearing that. No matter how nice we were to him, he was annoyed with the entire process. He refused to acknowledge warped boards, cracks, etc. I had to get USDA in there to fight the situation. \r After my home was built, there were issues that required their attention, and they fought me every step of the way. They're rude, will ignore your phone calls and voice mails, and are only interested in doing what is easy, cheap, and best for them. They do NOT care about the homeowners, and I promise that will become obvious once you're in too deep with them. \r \r I have advised everyone I know NOT to build with them, and because they all saw my frustrations, my friends are all using other builders. It's sad that they won't be neighbors, but their happiness is more important. Granite Ridge is AWFUL! more

Granite Ridge Builders will nickle and dime you for everything they can. They will add on hidden charges throughout the building process, and cut as many corers as they can. When you ask them to fix one of there mistakes, they will find any excuse on why they don't have to. But they will offer to fix it for a fee. more

Granite Ridge Builders not only build INCREDIBLE homes but they treat you like family and make you feel special along the way! I wouldn't build or buy a home from anyone except Granite Ridge Builders!!! more

After looking at all of the major builders in Fort Wayne i am so glad to have chosen Granite Ridge Builders!!!! I was communicated with every step of the way and everyone was so thorough and respectful. This was my first experience building a home so I was a bit overwhelmed at first but they took me through each step. I was able to choose a home and customize it and now I have an beautiful energy star efficient home in a wonderful neighborhood. I am so happy!!!!!! more

The only thing this homebuilder is looking for is lots of money in their pockets . They will cut corners where they can. If you have problems later on with your home don't plan on them fixing it. They will come up with some excuse that it's not their fault. Your just another number to them. I suggest doing your research before going with this builder. more

This builder has way too much on their hands! We became just another number in the books after we signed the agreement. If you are looking for a true custom home builder, please do your research! Look for a company that can continue to treat you like individuals rather than just another build. If you look to build just another cookie cutter home, than this may be the choice for you. more
