River City Dental Roseville Rip-off 5/25/2010

Let me echo with my own story of attempted thievery at this dental office. I decided to try this dental group as an alternative to my PPO dentist. As chronicled by others, it was a classic bait and switch operation. I went in for a cleaning and X-rays. The cleaning could not be done that day and the co-pay essentially matched what I would pay out of pocket at my old dentist. I, too, needed a "deep cleaning" even though I have been faithful about seeing the dentist/hygenist every six months. \r \r I was diagnosed with cavities throughout my mouth and would require, as a start, two implant type fillings for $1,600. This has never been prescribed or spoken about by any other dentist I have ever seen. They could schedule me immediately for that. My "gum readings" were primarily 6's when I have never before had a reading over 3. The dentist asked about my work schedule before they sent in the finance gal so they could get me rolling right away. The dentist doesn't get her hands dir more

Only in it for the money. 7/27/2009

I went to this dentist several times. Each time I went, it was a different dentist. I defy you to find the actual dentists whos names are on the door. Each dentist was pretty much fresh out of dental school. The first time I went, it was for an regular checkup. They didn't do any cleaning or work on my teeth that would normally be covered by insurance. Rather, they looked at my teeth and told me that I needed this gingevitis operation. Nothing of the operation was covered by insurance and it would cost me several thousand dollars. When I finally asked the guy "if I don't have this procedure, will my teeth fall from my mouth?" he admitted that it was mainly cosmetic, so I didn't get the work.\r \r I went back several months later. I had an accident and my front tooth broke. The dentist, a different on than from the first visit, consulted my charts and said that the problem was because I refused the gingivitis operation that had been recommended previously. Not sure how a gingiv more

DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST WHAT EVER YOU DO! 3/24/2009

I went in today as a first time patient, had to get x-rays, needed an exam, and wanted a cleaning. They wouldn't clean my teeth because they said I had to come back for a deep cleaning- which after my insurance copay would be $480! Not only that they said I had 3 cavities and would NOT do the metal (free) filling because it's "not good for the teeth". I'm sure they have better procedures but what they are charging is just too much for the average middle class American. They were recommending $6800 worth of work, and I only went in for an exam and cleaning. I just don't trust them, I'm never going back, please avoid them if you can. more

High pressure, forced upgrades, and slow! 10/17/2007

My wife and I both visited this dental group and each time we recieved the same high pressure sales tactics. My wife switched after the first visit. I went back 2 times believing I could put up with their endless sales pitches and high pressure tactics. The second time I went, they nearly would not fill my cavities because I would not agree to inlays. I regected the inlays and they reluctantly filled them. That visit took twice as long as it should have due to unnecessary waiting and sales pitches and they weren't able to clean my teeth (what I originally went in for). I did let them talk me into 6 fillings, 2 of which he barely drilled nor applied novacaine (probably unecessary). The final time when I went in for the cleaning, they pushed me into a periodontal evaluation after which they explained that they could not do a basic cleaning because I had a beginning stage gum disease between 3 of my teeth. They said it would cost $600 in copays to clean my teeth and would not do t more

Cons: High pressure sales, forced upgrades, long waits. more

Worst Dental Group EVER!! 6/12/2007

They make you enter in your very private medical information online. They call it "paperless," I call it doing someone else's work for free. This place might as well be the self service line at Home Depot. If you refuse, they make you sit at a kiosk in their lobby and enter in all of your medical info into their computer. What a crock! Once in the inner sanctum, you'll be handled be assistants and techs that are still training. It's set up like a production line, stalls, not rooms...only problem is NO PATIENTS. Gee, wonder why?! Lots of people standing around doing nothing, while you do all their work. Also BEWARE DIGITAL XRAYS...You cannot take them to another dentist. They will also keep trying to up-sell you services that you don't need....BEWARE! If you're smart you'll learn from my mistake and go anywhere else. more
