The apartments are very nice and in a wonderful location. The property manager seems very nice and accommodating ........ HOWEVER, I strongly urge you to actually read and review their lease prior to signing. The ones that jumped out to me and my friend who is a commercial property manager are Section 17 - regarding ending the lease, it contradicts their own addendum. Section 24(e) states if for any reason they get sued by you or anyone there to see you and gets injured even due to Grandview Pointes negligence, you are responsible for all GP's attorney fees for the attorney of THEIR choice. What a bill that would be if they flew one in from LA. Section 34e2 - states that NO car is allowed on property over 8 model years old. WOW !! My classic car could be worth more than your new cheap car and I could get denied to bring it on the premises Section 47 - states that upon signing the lease, you waive certain Pennsylvania State laws where they are protecting your rights and they outright say, "" they will not do what PA Law requires"". and lastly my favorite : ) It is the smoke alarm addendum at the end of the lease: It states ""that the TENANT assumes full and complete responsibility for all risk and hazards attributable to, connected with or in any way related to the operation, malfunction or failure of the smoke detector(s). This responsibility will exist even if such malfunction or failure is attributable to, connected with, or in any way related to the use, operation, manufacture, distribution, repair, servicing or installation of the smoke detector(s). My husband and I had a problem with that since the last time we manufactured, distributed or repaired a fire alarm was NEVER. But they said that we would be responsible for them. : ( We could not sign the lease and move there with so many ridiculous clauses ! BTW.. The limited parking was an issue also !
