Terrible Service. Stay Away!!!! 1/26/2009

I was told that the repairman would come to my house between 2 and 4, so I arranged my schedule to accomodate this. We were also told we would receive a call before they came AND receive a call if they couldn't make it by 4. At 4:40, I heard nothing from them and needed to wake the baby up from a nap and feed him and run our errands. So I called them (to be nice to the repairman so that they wouldn't make a wasted trip out in the rain at this point). She said they were still planning on coming later, but I told her that wouldn't be necessary . I told her that I would have appreciated a call at 4 to let me know they still weren't on their way and we were going to go with someone else. She called me a b-tch and slammed the phone down. Classy gal. I guess she has never heard of the ""internet"". Or maybe their business is so abundant that they don't mind losing a few customers. I am not sure if the repairman are any good but I hope you don't have to deal with this lady! I will make sure to let all my neighbors know to stay away from them as well. Pros: Don't know because they never came Cons: Rude, don't respect other's time, don't call more

SAME DAY SERVICE and VERY NICE! 6/9/2008

Overnight, someone broke into the truck in our driveway. Among some of the items stolen, was our garage door opener. Realizing they could access our garage at any time, we decided to get the remote code changed. We called Gordons Overhead Doors on a Friday afternoon at 3:30pm, fully expecting to be told that they could do it on Monday... but instead they were at our home within 2 hours. Aaron even helped my husband sweep out the broken glass in the back of the truck! \r Aaron and Cathie were so nice! Knowing nothing about garage doors, Aaron could have easily sold us remotes we didnt need, but he made suggestions that saved us money. He reprogrammed all of our remotes and our car remotes.\r This is the 2nd time we have used them... I wouldn't call anyone else! I have had nothing but fast, affordable, reliable service from them! (and with a smile!!) Pros: They worked late to get our appt in. Very resonable rates. Very nice couple! Cons: NONE! more

Do not show up for Appts, poor quality service 4/8/2008

I bought my house in Round Rock about 3 years ago. Last summer my garage went off its tracks and i decided to call the number to the company who installed it according to the garage door sticker. They were very friendly and came out and fixed the door within 15 minutes but charged me $274 dollars for lifetime rollers, which they said that the original rollers failed. About 4 months later i called them again because my garage door came off its tracks again and i told them that they came out recently and i think it might be from the past repairers mistakes. They lady said that ""if one of our techs made a mistake we will repair it for free. After having two no shows and no answers to the messages, i called another service locally here in Round Rock. When they came out, they noticed that my springs are different sizes, which i never bothered to ask before (being stupid to the world of garage doors!) They showed me where the traction was loose on one side because of the different sized springs which caused the cable to wrap around the top roller on the track when the garage door was in the open position. I then realized that Gordon's Overhead Doors took me for a loop! Their mistake to make a quick buck and when it messed up they didnt fix the original problem, they just charged me for it! and ALOT!! The round rock company only charged me $75 dollars for the visit and placed the door back on track and readjusted the door not to open completely so that the cable would not have a slack cable for potential for the same issues. Since i cant afford to fix the springs i left it at that and it has been working fine for the last 5 months now. I would take Gordons to court if needed, but i cant prove that they installed it because i am not the original owner with installer documents. Dont use them, they will take your money!! but not call you back when they know they are in the wrong! Pros: Initally friendly customer service Cons: Cut corners and dont own up to their responsibility more

Lies- Sabotage - and a quick run to the bank with my money! 10/31/2007

I selected Gordon's company based on my preference to support small independent companies and relied on their statements made including that they had the door I wanted in stock at their location, that Mr. Gordon would be doing the installation and that they would be doing the work at a specific time on a specific day.\r The time came and he was not there. When I called he said he was picking up the door and that it was late getting in at the freight depot... so the ""in-stock"" was a lie. Someone other than Mr Gordon showed up to do the installation- another lie. It seems Mr. Gordon did show up sometime during the installation because the check I left for him was cashed before the job was done. When I arrived home the door was installed (I had to tighten some loose bolts) but the garage door opener was not working and it was torn apart. The door opener was working fine upon their arrival... they had opened the door with the remote control I left with the check. There was no note... just a receipt. I called Mr. Gordon and was told that the opener broke down while his contractor was there and that it was just a coincidence that it went out while he was working on it. He wanted me to buy a door opener from him and have him install it. I said I expected him to fix the existing door opener and he said he would come take a look at it and that he thought he could fix it because he had been working on them since he was 16. Several calls and several no shows later I gave up and went to Home Depot and bought a new opener and installed it myself.\r \r Based on the lies and what I would consider deliberate sabotage of the opener in an attempt to sell me something more I would warn any consumer against working with this snake-in-the grass! Cons: Lies and no integrity more

Don't make their scheduled appointments- Don't call either 3/14/2007

The wire for my garage door came off the pulley. I called Gordon's to repair it. I scheduled an appointment for between three and five the next day. They didn't show and didn't call. When I called back, I was told that they were on a job which took longer then they thought. ok, fine. \r \r I then rescheduled for the following week between 8 and noon. Again no call and no show. Now it has been a week and a half and I must call someone else to do the repairs. Too bad, I was looking to do business here in the Leander /Cedar Park area, but I guess I'll have to call someone in Austin. Pros: friendly on the phone Cons: don't show for their appointments and don't call to let oyu know. more

will work around your schedule. aim to please 12/20/2006
