Golden Needle

Well I bought my dress on sale at another shop when I lived in Tampa but as a result of my then soon to be husband unexpectedly losing his job we had to move back to our home town, Lake city. When we finally were able to have our previously canceled wedding I needed to have my dress refitted. I chose to go to The Golden Needle and ask for help, Even though they usually do not alter any dresses that were not bought from themselves they graciously decided to help me. They helped me in fitting my dress to my ever changing body and even made changes 2 days prior to my wedding when I again lost more weight due to stress. They were so amazing and helped me so much. The lady that does ALL of their alteration was a very wise woman and knew what I needed before I did. The whole business is a family owned operation and even though the couple that started the business MANY years ago do not speak much English their grandchildren are very helpful, youthful, experienced & speak great English! more

This was the WORST dress shop ive ever been in. I made a trip to lake city to visit both bridal shops in town. But let me tell you this is about the 20th shop ive visited and it is def. the worst! I was scared to even walk in here. and when i did it was VERY out of date and cluttered.... dress shopping was hard and when i found something decent their prices were ridiculous. Im not a cheap person but when im paying a high price tag I like good quality... It wasn't at this store... So needless to say I got out of there ASAP. I even asked them about the other bridal shop before I left & was told there wasnt one. I thought this was kinda odd. but when I went to check them out there they were. so there must be some unfriendly competition towards the Glass Slipper. On the other hand Glass Slipper Bridal was VERY nice and organized. They had EVERYTHING in there even rentals and a full service tuxedo department! I was able to get my dress, Chair & table rentals, Tuxedos, flower girl & bridesmaids dresses there and they actually gave me a discount for getting it all through them. But all around better experience! Plus the people at the Glass Slipper spoke English where as at the golden needle you couldn't understand a thing they said!!! Glad I was able to get it all taken care of at the same place!
