Unimpressed- imcompetent employees! 11/5/2011

I went into the clearance center in Westfield. The employees followed me around the entire time- I don't mind if someone greets me when I enter, but it was a bit ridiculous. I found a piece of furniture that seemed like an excellent deal, but was unsure if it would fit in my home. I asked an employee to measure it for me. She did, but gave me incorrect measurements- they were off by over 10 inches. I passed on the item because I knew it would not fit in my home. I went home and pulled up the correction dimensions of this piece of furniture and found that it would have indeed fit. If I would have had the correct dimensions I would have purchased on the spot. But when I returned to purchase the item was gone. Someone got a great deal and I am happy for them, but disappointed that the employee who was so eager to help me was incompetent!! As it caused me to miss out on a great deal! more

They have my money-I don't have my furniture 11/6/2008

In June of 08"", we ordered a bedroom suite from Godbys. When the suite came in, the footboard was broken. They told us a replacement came in only to find that it have broken in shipment too. We have tried many times to get this resolved, only to be in November now and still no footboard. They keep telling me thay the manufacture has not shipped it yet and that they need more furniture to make a shipment. At this point I see no other option but to retain counsel. They won't even respond to our calls anymore. Cons: Not interested in customer satisfaction. more

Disappointing Service 1/3/2003

I ordered a furniture, and was told that I would be contacted when they arrived, in 4-6 weeks. Four phone calls, 9 weeks, and several run-arounds later, I found out that the factory had shipped my furniture TWO weeks prior. Godby would have to SEARCH their warehouse for my merchandise! They didn't know where it was! We asked to speak to a manager and received no apologies. We were told that their policy"" is to contact customers only when they hear from the factory. They apparently weren't to be held responsible, even though the merchandise had been sitting in their warehouse for TWO WEEKS! We asked for compensation - a free delivery ($50), and were again told that it ""is not our policy"". So, I conclude that Godby was unwilling to pay the $50 to ensure that a customer who bought thousands of dollars of merchandise is a satisfied customer. Cons: Poor Customer Service more
