WOW! Greg Chang, Yes he doesnt look like his name :-) But once I walked in he showed me a lot of lov, and took care of my car. Gave me a killer deal on 2 Contineltal ZR Sports Tires! (Can't tell you how much) But just know he hooked it up! more

Great Service - and quick! 11/20/2008

Took my bosses car there to do a "chrome exchange" since he had curb rash on 3 out of 4 wheels. Stan helped me and was very informative. Turns out one of the wheels was bent from a blown tire a few weeks prior so that one was not repairable....which was good to know for obvious reasons. They were done in like 30 minutes! They are very helpful and hopefully will be taking care of my wheels very soon (more curb rash). I would highly recommend them. Pros: Very helpful and quick Cons: None more

An unbelievable find 11/10/2008

I live in Pacific Palisades, and was stranded for an hour on the 10 near La Cienega with a blow-out. My German mechanic of 25 years had told me about Globe (for a missing after-market BMW wheel emblem) and since I was right there, I decided to stop in and see if they had one (impossible to find, but a big "cosmetic" issue for my '87 "shark") and maybe get a new tire, though I figured they would be too pricey for that. I was lucky enough to "draw" Gregory H. - who walked out from behind the service desk to ask what I might need, didn't even wait for me to make my way to the desk - and proceeded to spend at least 15 minutes checking stock and searching in drawers for the emblem because he was sure he had seen one around the shop (he has been there for 14 years). He was an unbelievably smart and thoughtful gentleman, even though I clearly wouldn't be a big dollar customer! Then he assessed my wrecked tire, found me a proper replacement, called a used tire dealer down the street (in case I preferred to buy there), and finally gave me a fantastic price on a Sumimoto. With all that, his guys balanced the wheel, replaced the emblem at no charge -- and even put Armor-all on all four tires. Sorry to carry on like this, but the experience made my week...! Thank you Gregory!! A prince. Pros: Small, hi-tech, smart shop...fantastic employees Cons: none more

Not responsible for damage? 5/27/2008

I phoned these guys to see if they had time patch a tire (l live close by) and they told me come on down. I got there 10 minutes later to find the place backed up with a bunch of cars. Then some guy who works there comes out and says "It's at least an hour to a two hour wait". I tell him I just need a tire patched and he just shrugs his shoulders. I conisidered waiting until I saw the sign in the garage the read "NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO ALLOY WHEELS". What the hell does that mean? These guys work on wheels pretty much exclusively, but decided they need a disclaimer. I have had one too many bad experiences with wheel/tire places, so I felt that this was obviously a place I could not trust. That was enough for me. I left and went to Wheel Enhancement a few miles further. Pros: close to home Cons: small shop with limited parking and no waiting area, horrible customer service more

Honest, thorough and fair. 4/1/2008

I had a late model Mustang GT (upgraded since to an '08 GT) and went in with what I thought was a damaged rim after having struck a moving curb.:)) The owner, conveyed that his mechanic found only a nail in the right rear and that all else seemed well........The day before the dealer assurred me I would need to replace the rim (bent beyond repair...barely visible to me) and tire (damaged sidewall?) at a cost of several hundred of dollars! And everyone knows you can't/shouldn't replace only one tire. The guys at Globe removed and patched (not plugged) the flat , checked all four tires for proper pressure and I was on my way home 20 minutes after I got there. I stumbled onto this site because I need to have my mother's car tire repaired.( slow leak) and I wanted to know the hour Globe opens. I can't imagine going elsewhere. I also asked what replacement tires would cost come. Again the price for the parts and labor including balance, install and 4-wheel alignment was less BY FAR than the dealer wanted for just the tires. I am taking the time to write this so "unknowing" consumers can hear from a man who grew up in Gas Stations during the 60's and 70's and has worked on, literaly, thousands of cars. This should be your one stop for tire concerns. Pros: Honest, Fair and Thorough Cons: Didn't serve breakfast. Only Service!! more

THE VERY BEST ! 9/23/2007

Nowadays you do not find " customer service ' until you go to Globe Tires on La Cienega, 3 weeks ago I had to take my car in. For one year no one could find out what was wrong with one of my rims. Needless to say, I was out in 40 minutes without any more problems. I also want to mention, Gregory, he goes the extra mile. What an asset to the company. G. more

Professional, honest, sensible mechanics 9/15/2006

I am a huge fan of these guys. They are always clear in their diagnosis, courteous, and professional. My dealership told me I needed new front and rear brakes; Globe gave me an estimate that was half what the dealership quoted and then (after looking at the car) told me I didn't need front ones after all, so the estimate was half of that! Don't be put off by the fancy cars parked in front - Globe won't rip you off. It's so great to have a mechanic you can trust... more
