Glitz Bridal is a locally-owned store in Bellevue. I had my second bridal appointment ever, at this salon, and I was immediately treated like family. The staff is amazing to work ...

Do not overlook Glitz in your search for a wedding gown 1/7/2009

Make sure to stop by Glitz before you make your decision to purchase a bridal gown. As stated in a previous post, this shop has a lot to offer, and the owner, Ann, will go the extra mile to help you find your ""dream dress."" I had such a great experience that I ordered my bridesmaids' dresses from Glitz, as well. Pros: hard-to-find brands, individual attention more

They Can Find you ANY dress, and make you feel at home!!!! 12/26/2008

I went to Glitz after a few unsuccessful shopping trips to White Room, Village Bridal, etc. They all had great gowns, but I didn't feel special at all anywhere I went- just felt like another customer for them. I went into Glitz mainly because it's near my house, and I had seen them at the August Bridal Show in Nashville, where I had been impressed with their gowns. \r \r Honestly, from the outside, their shop doesn't seem like much- being off the Old Hickory exit in Bellevue- but inside, they have racks and racks of gorgeous gowns- many of which the other places hadn't been displaying. Because I am truly THE pickiest bride, I wasn't sure I'd find something I liked, and even though I found GREAT gowns, I didn't find ""the one"" on their racks- not the ones I had fallen in love with over internet sites, etc. When the owner of the salon asked me what I liked, I told her I just had this image in my mind of something else, and a designer I loved that she didn't carry, and she said bring me the style number, and we'll get it.\r \r Sure enough, 4 months later, I have the gown of my dreams that she had to order especially for me and it's PERFECT. It's also a better price than I was able to find anywhere else... I've had such a great experience that I ordered all my bridesmaid dresses and MOB/MOG dresses from her, which she gives an extra discount on if you buy your dress there. \r \r Above all, the best part of my experience has been Ann, the owner. She is like having a second mom during the whole shopping process, which meant so much to me, since my mom is out of state.\r \r I've read these other reviews, and having gotten to know Ann, it makes me so sad to think so many have suffered bad service! I know she's recently been going through some staff changes, but I can promise all of you HER number one priority is most CERTAINLY making the bride happy. Pros: AMAZING owner, beautiful dresses, great prices Cons: not the most beautiful location or building, sometimes seems to be ""short staffed"" more

Poor customer service 9/11/2008

My sister-in-law bought her wedding gown at Glitz and had okay service for that because she bought it as-is and got a fantastic discount. She didn't have any help putting the dresses on, though, so I had to help her. Because she got a discount on bridesmaids dresses after buying her wedding dress there, we ordered two dresses from B2. We ordered them on May 31 and were told they would come in between 8/15 and 8/29. The wedding is at the end of September, so we thought that would be plenty of time. The last week of August, we still hadn't heard anything, so she called the shop. The salesgirl sounded surprised to hear from us and surprised that the dresses hadn't come in. She promised to call the manufacturer and call my sister-in-law right back. Two days later, we still hadn't heard anything so we called again. They said, ""Oh, yeah, they're supposed to be in the mail today and they'll be here Monday or Tuesday of next week."" Two weeks and three phone calls later, the dresses weren't in and we had no responses from the workers. I finally drove there and said I was there to pick up the dresses. Not only were they shocked to see me (literally, their eyes got big when I told them what I was there for), the dresses were hanging up behind the counter. I guess I'm disappointed that they made no effort to comfort the bride (who was rightly freaking out about our not having dresses), but they didn't even make it a priority to call us as soon as the dresses came in (literally two weeks before the wedding). The woman acted like it was totally normal that the dresses were in and that I had come to get them without having been called. Unfortunately, I think this is yet another bridal shop that neglects its customers after they have gotten the money.\r The dress selection is nice and the prices are good, but you will probably need to keep tabs on everything to ensure things happen on time. Pros: prices Cons: service more

Beautiful dresses! 8/18/2008

I, like some others on here, was skeptical about going into Glitz. I decided to come in last week and was pleasently suprised with what I saw. The dresses were beautiful (I didn't buy one that day, but I did pick out a few that I loved), and the customer service was great! The sales associate working that day informed me that they were going through some employment changes when I told her about the other comments I read on here. She seemed positive that customer service was Glitz's number one priority along with finding bride's the perfect dress! Pros: great dresses at a great price. more

Be Careful! 8/14/2008

My mom and I went to Glitz on May 14 and found two great dresses. I decided to buy one off the shelf for my reception, but I wanted to buy a NEW dress for the ceremony. (I also wanted a white dress and not ivory like the one I tried on.) I, like the others who have written, was not at all impressed with the girl who was working that day. She seemed to be very rude and didn't want to help very much at first. However, I guess she warmed up to my mom and I and became very helpful and friendly. I don't know if she had her guard up for a ""bridezilla"" or if she ust realized how she was coming across. Anyway, that is not even close to being the problem... I ordered my dress that day (May 14) and was told that it would take a max of 3 to 4 months to get in. I was expecting a phone call telling me to come pick it up. Well, instead I received a phone call last week saying that the maker of my dress had some sort of mix up in the company and needed my dress for a wedding that was 2 weeks away. Hmm...maybe I'm just crazy but don't you think Maggie Sottero makes more that one of the same style dress. I know that someone wanted to buy my dress from the store. This is OK for now, but I am scared 1/2 to death that my dress won't be here in time for my wedding. I was told it would be here on October 15, but (sorry) I'll believe that when I see it! I'll keep you updated though... So, in other words, I say that if you're going to buy something off the shelf, go for it! And, make sure you get the discount, but be careful if you're thinking about ordering anything!!! Pros: Great prices and discounts Cons: Customer service is ""if-y"" more

Never buy a dress from Glitz Briday 7/16/2008

I went into glitz bridal on a Saturday and found the perfect dress. While there I asked the employees how quickly the dress will get there and they told me it would be 11-12 weeks unless I put the dress on on rush order. I could pay the $50 extra for the rush order and it would be there on in 5 1/2-6 weeks. Well since my wedding was coming up soon I told them ok and that I would call first thing Monday morning and order the dress. When I called Monday morning to order the dress I asked again about the rush shipping date and they told me it would be shipped in 5 1/2-6 weeks. So I put down half on the dress and told them to call me when they placed the order to give me an exact ship date. I heard nothing from them so I called the shop on Tuesday around 4:45 and talked to the owner. When I talked to here she was not sure when it was going to be shipped on a rush order so she called the manufacture. After talking to them she called me back and told me that it was going to take 12 weeks to get here and that was on rush shipping. I was completely devastated. She told me there was nothing to worry about but my gut told me to worry. I consulted my Mother (who was freaking at that the dress would only be here 3 weeks prior to the wedding) and my fiance and they both told me to cancel my order. I called the shop first thing Wednesday morning at opening but there was no one there so I left a message. 3 1/2 hours later I got a call back from the owner trying to talk me out of canceling the dress. She tried to reassure me that the dress would be here by the wedding but didn't care that my concern was with alterations and portraits. After pleading with her she refunded all but the $50 rush fee that she said the manufacturer would not refund to her. I am now upset. No goods exchanged hands and there was no why that they had started on my dress. She wanted to keep the $50 for her troubles...well she's going to have more then $50 worth of trouble when I am done with her!! Pros: nothing Cons: they are liars more

dreadful lack of service 5/4/2008

I arrived at Glitz on a Monday morning a few minutes before they opened, as did another couple of people, with the hope of checking out their wedding dress selection. We waited until 10 when they supposedly opened, but couldn't find an open door. The guy from the attached tux shop let us in and turned on the lights, saying he didn't know where the employee was. After we all wandered around for about 10 minutes the young woman who worked there arrived. She was wearing sunglasses, talking on her cell phone, and seemed genuinely inconvenienced at the fact she had to be at work. She greeted no one, walked behind the counter, sat down, and proceeded to carry on her phone conversation. After a few minutes of being ignored I walked out. I was not surprised that she didn't say ""goodbye and thanks for coming"", because she was still on the phone.\r \r Bottom line - even if there had been any dresses here that held my interest (which there weren't), the lack of service was so deplorable that I would never go back, on principle alone. Pros: easy to park Cons: everything else more

Fine dresses; Grumpy employees 2/28/2008

I bought my wedding gown from Glitz at a 10% discount because they were having a sample sale and I bought the dress they had to try on. They had a decent selection of regular and plus-sized dresses and a substantial amount of discounted gowns. \r \r The young girl helping me was pleasant and helpful. She was a regular retail employee...not paid on commission. The other employees, however, were pretty rude and unfriendly. I felt a bit pressured to buy the gown right away because they tried to convince me noone could order the dress in time for my wedding. I got scared and wondered if they just wanted me to purchase the dress.\r \r They didn't recommend any veils or shoe info, and I didn't ask. \r \r Bring your own bra and underclothes to try on dresses, they have none for you to use.\r \r There is little privacy in the dressing rooms in the back, which consist of a short drape hung over a doorway. I know people could see my bare body while I was trying on clothes, which made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. \r \r Other bridal places help you put on the dress, but I was left to fend for myself and step into my dress without a lady putting it over my head.\r \r I got my dress here on a small discount and they were nice about holding it for me before I could take it to an alterationist (not included). Store reminds me of a small hole in the wall warehouse-type shop. But, I love my dress! I'd say try this place if you can't afford Faccio or the White Room, and if David's Bridal doesn't have any dresses that appeal to you. Pros: Found my gown here; One nice employee; Holding my gown Cons: Parking, Service, Dressing rooms more

Beautiful dresses and great service. 12/16/2007

My mother and I ventured into Glitz on a Saturday with out an appointment. After a day full of bridal dress shopping around Nashville, I thought Glitz would be the same as the others and turn me away because I did not make an appointment. On the contrary, the staff was very helpful. I the sales lady that I would not be buying today. She immanently told me that I had plenty of time and buying my dress should not be a rushed decision. This piece of advice was very helpful. Glitz had a friendly home-like atmosphere, not to mention many beautiful dresses to choose from. I picked out a few wedding dresses, then a few weeks later came back to make my final selection. The staff was patient and their input was very helpful. The staff also had a great knowledge of their merchandise. They let me choose dresses, but also showed me dresses that they thought I would like. I am certainly bringing back my bridesmaids to get their dresses! I would recommend Glitz to anyone! Pros: large selection of dresses, good service, great prices Cons: gets busy on saturdays, so i would make an appoitment more

RUDE! 8/12/2007

When my mother and I walked into Glitz without an appointment, we were not welcomed at all. The store was empty with the exception of one younger woman (in her early 20's) looking at some bridal jewelry. There were two workers in the store, neither of them said hello to my mother or me. We had been to several other bridal shops the same day and were both confused. At almost all of the other stores we were greeted and helped immediately. We started looking at gowns only to be scolded when we pulled them down, She told us she would be with us in a minute and to please wait. Well, we waited for nearly 20 min until she was done. She then came over and simply said the fitting rooms are around the corner, be careful with the gowns. She treated me like I was a teenage girl coming in with friends to try on wedding gowns for fun. Needless to say we were mad, and left. I will NEVER step foot into this dingy little bridal store again... If you have any class at all you wouldn't want a dress from there anyway, the place looks like an old hospital waiting room. I would recommend The White Room in Lebanon, they have beautiful gowns and helpful associates. Thanks for nothing Glitz... Pros: They have alot of styles and designers with good prices. Cons: The staff was rude and the place was a dump. more

Phenomenal! 10/2/2006

WOW! A great selection of dresses and fabulous help. The owner stayed about an hour after closing while I made up my mind between two dresses. She was so helpful and patient! It was an enjoyable experience all around. It is definitely worth the trip out to Bellevue. Pros: inexpensive, helpful, great selection more
