Best Wedding Venue in Atlanta 12/8/2011

From the first visit to Glendalough my husband (then fiancé) knew it was where we were meant to get married. Being the practical sort I wanted to look at other places in the area just to be sure. We spent three months traveling all over metro-Atlanta looking at EVERY ( I really do mean every) place that dealt with weddings. Not a one could hold a candle to Glendalough's attention to detail, the beauty of the grounds and the manor, or the value of the services offered for the money. We had a little ""sticker shock"" our first run of the numbers at Glendalough--but when you add up what the same things would cost "" ala carte"" at some of the other venues or what it would cost in labor and time to do it yourself--Glendalough was the best value by far. Jaylyn and all the staff at Glendalough made us feel special and they all seemed to genuinely care about our special day--they got to know us and made sure our day was really OUR day. We wanted a stress-free, fun, beautiful wedding experience and Jaylyn and Glendalough made sure that happened. I still am getting compliments from guests at the wedding--""it was the most beautiful, original, fun wedding they have ever been to"". Thank you Jaylyn and all the wonderful staff at Glendalough for making our day happen in such a wonderful way. Glendalough should be your first and last stop for weddings and special events! more

Beautiful Experience! 11/29/2011

Our daughter's wedding was a beautiful, memorable experience. Glendalough Manor went above and beyond what was expected. Our wedding director, Jaylyn was exceptional throughout the process. She was attentive and always responded to us in a favorable manor with respect. When you book your event well in advance, it seems as if all you are really doing is making payments and not getting anything in return. The staff at Glendalough know what they are doing. Once we had our 30 day prior meeting, things began to fall into place. The day of the wedding was flawless. Jaylyn and staff were very professional and our family had nothing to worry about. It all fell into place like planned. A perfect place for a wedding or big event. It was a beautiful day for our daughter! more

Family Owned & Operated (Beware) 8/4/2011

Glendalough Manor double booked a room that was supposedly caused by a technical glitch. However, they changed my contract before notifying me to see what was acceptable to me. Instead, I received an email indicating my contract has been modified and after speaking with them about my concerns, they quickly refund my $. They were neither remorseful nor, attempted to save me as a customer. Now, I am still receiving invoices via email and the event planner is not returning my calls to address invoices on a cancelled contract. more

do not have your reception here 6/16/2009

I had my wedding at Glendalough in April.I will say the grounds outside are beautiful. There are plenty of lovely places to have your pictures made and all my guests commented on how gorgeous the grounds were.I would def. recommend to anyone to have the ceremony at GM, but, not the reception.I really wish i had read reviews before booking my reception. My wedding planner was the owner's daughter and was very rude. Before the wedding day i had to follow up with her and repeatedly ask her to return my call and follow up on the things that she had promised. Her attitude was that she was doing me a favor. She stayed long enough for the wedding party announcements at the reception (and was very rude to some of the wedding party) and then i didn't see her again that evening. The event was not well organized. The cake table was pushed into the corner and they had us do the cake cutting with our backs to our guests. There was another wedding reception across the hall and we were allowed approx. 30 minutes after our ceremony to take pictures before we were made to go inside. The DJ was the owner's son and he was HORRIBLE.DON'T USE HIM.We even had guests comment about it and ask why we chose him (GM recommended him).He was not entertaining, did not take any control on the different events that evening, played the wrong mother/son song, etc. Also, read the contract. It is there way or no way.i have noticed the same complaints from different people on this site and wish i had taken note! There are plenty of other places in Atlanta that are affordable, i would not trust this facility with such an important and once in a lifetime event. more
