Glen Oaks Nursing Home

Terrible place! Most staff does not seem to care! The residents all smell because they're not bathed regularly and the resident's all seemed to be crammed into too small a space! Do not send your loved ones here! more

Everyone seems to be friendly and respectful when family members visits our mother there. But in the evening, the nurses don't seem to be attentive to the residents. My mother would call for the nurses at night and would wait for hours before a nurse would attend to her needs. I went to visit my mother in the evening and found three nurses watching tv at the nurses station. When I got to my mother's room, she said she was waiting for a nurse to help her use the restroom for over 45 minutes. Very disappointing that nurses are not taking care of our loved ones like they are supposed to be doing. more

The staff at Glen Oaks, from the front office to the housekeeping department, and everyone in-between are all fantastic workers, and care-givers. They not only treat the residents with respect and loving care, but they treat their families the same way. It doesn't matter who you talk to or what you are taking about, the staff rspects your privacy, and makes sure that they take care of the resident and the family the way the doctor ordered for whatever the illness is, and they follow directions so that they will be helping the resident to the best of their ability. They are there to help, not hurt. Everyone at Glen Oaks, is always there immediately to help no matter what the problem is. They are fantastic and we always thank them, and let them know how much we appreciate everything they are doing for us. If a person needs to live in a nursing facility, I feel that Glen Oaks is the place to go. The director of nursing and supportive staff are able to maintain a superb home. The available programs for residents are impressive for rehab, social work, activities. The writer who wrote the negative review seems to have been upset that someone else received the job they requested. Consider this place as a doable option. A++ more

I would never put a family member into this home. I recently called to find out about a CNA earn while you learn program that is offered there and I was spoken to as if I was being a pest! The first time I called, I was told to fill out a application and hung up on. The second time I called and made an appointment to speak to the lady who is in charge of the program. When I got there the lady I was to meet said she cant meet with me anymore, but ""what do i still want?"" I told her I wanted to knwo more about the program an she said if you filled out the application and if I pick you then ill give you more details, and hung up! more
