Ginger Man

Having not been to the Ginger Man in a couple of years my friends and I decided to check it out. We were dissapointed across the boards. The food was bland and my friends Ribeye was over cooked to the point where it was unetable. \r \r For a restaurant the refers to it's self as a wine bar we were less then impressed with the selection. What is there is overpriced. As is the food in our oppinion.\r \r Also as has been mentioned in a previous review on Citysearch the service and management were clearly ""having a better time"" then any of the clientele.\r \r Over all this was one hundred and eighty dollars down the drain. more

My friends and I used to love coming here. Quiet atmosphere, tasteful decor, excellent fondu and entrees. But over the last few months of dealing with staff that are drunk or otherwise under the influence, we have decided the pros of the Gingerman do not come close to outweighing the cons. The last time we were in, the manager (who is part of the owner's family) was visibly drunk and when she wasn't sitting at the bar she was visiting tables and slurring her words. That same night we had the (dis)pleasure of a waitress I will call ""Blondie"", she was rude and treated us as if we were wasting her time. She also disappeared for over half an hour, the other employees treated this as normal behavior, and when she did return she acted a little out of it and had what we hope was flour on her upper lip. Not all of the employees are like this, but as i said the Bad definitely outweighs the Good. A shame this was really a great establishment that we happily supported. Alas, no more. Its cool, it has a unique selection. The asiago cheese fondue is awesome. If you are a little low on cash they have four sandwiches that are for 9$ and each come with a choice of side. Talk about a deal! Try the steak Madeira sandwich! For dessert go for the chocolate fondue! Of course if I didn't mention their amazing French onion soup, you would be missing out, try that too! Furthermore their main dishes are great! Parking in the back~ and a good wine list! Pros: Great food, unique set up, great service, good wine list. more

We are from out-of-town and went to a concert at The Palace. We stopped people on the street and asked where there was a good late night place. They steered us well to The Ginger man. Nice decor\r Interesting selections, food done well, attentive service. Fantasic. Pros: all pros Cons: no cons more

Convenient location. Service and food are consistently good!! The wine list has a reasonable offering, but could be updated more frequently (vintages noted are often unavailable). Pros: Mixed clientel, cozy not to loud Cons: wine list is out date, not much curb appeal, no large groups more
