Gerri Bridal Shop

HORRIBLE bridal shop! We went here to order all of the dresses for my bridesmaids - and the service we received from this was atrocious. We were not allowed to look at the dresses until a month before the wedding once they were in, and upon asking to see them all together I was able to easily see one was the COMPLETE WRONG COLOR! When I brought this up I (the bride) was simply told ""Oh, it's only one. And it's for the Jr. Bridesmaid, so it's ok"" How about NO?? They fought me for days in trying to get the dress in the correct color and ended up giving my Jr. Bridesmaid an entirely new dress. (Luckily all of my girls were in different styles, just all the same color at least!) But then to my horror THEY CHOPPED OFF THE ENTIRE BOTTOM OF THE DRESS!!! I had specifically stated I wanted all of the dresses to be floor length, but they took it upon themselves at the ""bridal shop"" to take off 4-6 inches so that it was up past the girl's ankles! Horrible customer service, horrible shop, horrible experience. Not worth the hassle at all. more

I did not have the same experience. Found the staff to very helpful. Very honest on what looks good and what doesn't. Found a perfect dress for me for my son's wedding. Don't let the reviews stop you from going here. more

I did not have the same experience as the other customers. Yes, the shop is very, very dingy. Yes, it is in a horrible neighborhood and yes, the staff is smoking in the back room. However, as a plus-sized bride, I never felt belittled, judged, or looked down upon by the staff. In fact, the people who helped me were wonderful. Also, the bride who claims that there are no sample sizes for larger women is wrong. There were plenty of sizes for larger women. I currently wear a size 24 and there were dresses for me to try on. Check them out. Don't judge a book by its cover. more

Worst customer service ever!!!! I have never dealt with a business as rude and unprofessional in my life. I'm a bridemaid in my brother's upcoming wedding and Gerri's bridal has been a horrible experience since I first walked in. I wasn't able to go look at the dresses with the bride so I went a few days later to be sized for the dress the bride picked out. The store was supposed to be open until 8 that day so I was getting other errands done beforehand until my brother's fiance tells calls to say they decided to have an early day and are closing the store in 15 minutes. When I finally got there, the clerk was rude because she had to wait for me (even though they were still supposed to be open another 3 hours). I paid for my dress and left. When the dresses came in, I called to pay the balance on my dress and see if I can get it shipped to me (I moved out of stat right before they came in). The same lady was rude to me again saying if I would have called two days prior (I tried calling but their phone is always busy or no answer!!!) she could have sent it out today. She then told me she would send it out tomorrow and I had to pay an additional $22 for shipping (that seems high to me). It is currently 2+ weeks after that phone call and I hace yet to recieve my dress. The wedding is in 2 weeks. I have called several times and didn't get through. When I finally did get through she told me she was TOO SICK to get it to UPS the day she was supposed to mail it but I would have it in 3 more days. So what did I pay $22 in shipping for?!?!? I have yet to recieve my dress. The wedding is in two weeks. It still needs to be altered. WORST BRIDAL SHOP EVER!!! more

I had found this bridal shop and i figured it was perfect because i didnt have to pay for everything at once. So my MOH & I made our first trip up to look at bridesmaids dresses. They only carried sample dresses in sizes 0-6...we are not all twigs! Then the lady that was helping my sister (moh) was making comments in the dressing rm that were very inappropriate. We got very disgusted & left. Against my better judgment i went back for my bridal dress appointment. They pretty much refused to sell me a white dress, they told me that i was too pale and the white dress will drown me out...shouldnt that be my decision? I think so. Anyway i ended up ordering a dress...they never even told me how much it was until i got my receipt. They waited until 3 months before my wedding to order the dress, my tiara and my veil. I went to get them three days ago...thank god i looked at the $180 tiara before we left the area...there were 17+ stones missing...shouldnt they look their inventory over? Again, I think so. After i returned that, i decided that i better try my dress on and make sure everything was ok....well needless to say my $1000+ dress started to lose beads (i didnt even have it on for more then ten minutes) Thenn my sister went to put the train on (its detachable) the train wasnt even the same size as the dress!! nothing lined up. I was so angry. So i went back with the dress..and told them i was fed up and they can keep their dress and i want my money back. They refused (rudely) and said it was a special order..(nothing was done to it, same as sample) then they forced me to put the dress on, when the lad saw that the buttons going down the train were off center..she said ""who cares"" ??? Really? Seriously? Needless to say i took the dress and went to davids bridal and had the best experience ever and picked out the most gorgeous dress. Im still debating if i should get my lawyer involved to get my money back for the other dress. Beware of this bridal shop..horrible customer service. more

When I was graduating from 8th grade, I convinced my mom to get me a real dress (i.e. one from the store rather than one that she made (I was young!)) and this was where we went. It was local and convenient; however, trying on dresses was embarrassing and they were not friendly. I felt judged and felt that I was not being nicely treated. That was several years ago. A year ago, my soon-to-be sister-in-law purchased her wedding gown and her mother-in-law purchased her gown there as well. The people of Gerri's Bridal were just as unfriendly and unwelcoming last year as they were when I was 8th grade (I am a senior in college now). I would not recommend Gerri's Bridal- unless you want to feel insulted and judged. more
