German & Japanese Auto Spec

I used German & Japanese Auto Spec to change a battery for me. They're the only ones besides the dealer who dealt with Volkswagens. It was average, everything was average. I doubt I will go back there. I had gone there originally when I thought my battery was going out, and Manuel quoted me a price. When I thought, "Oh my gosh, my battery is going out," I went back, and he said I wouldn't be able to get an appointment. Then, when I tried to call to see if the car was ready, the person I needed to speak to was helping another customer. I eventually got a call back. It wasn't a great experience overall, it was okay. Obviously, this was my first time going there. In all fairness, a lot of this was me freaking out about the price. It was a lot of money, and I didn't have it. He just could have called. more

This last experience with German & Japanese Auto Spec was a little weird, because I had a headlight go out. I have a Mercedes, and it can be difficult to get a headlight, but they found one and told me to bring it in. The technician was working on the car, and then suddenly the headlight wasn't working. He gave me this look almost like it wasn't his fault. I told him that we would wait for the owner to come back, and when he did he took care of it. With a Mercedes it can be problematic to change the lights, so the experience was a little interesting. I have been using German & Japanese Auto Spec as my regular mechanic for 7 or 8 years. They are not just interested in repairing the symptom of the problem; they want to find out what is causing the issue. If something is wrong, like that headlight, and a mechanic just fixes the symptom, then it will most likely happen again. They are interested in actually fixing the problem. I recommend them all the time. more
