paint repair 7/24/2010

This is the third time I have used this shop,and I am very satisfied.Especialy on this current job of having spot's on my rear wheel well's,driver's side door&passenger door's repainted.these spot's had the start of surface rust,and now you can't tell where they where unless you knew about it before.\r My brother has used the same shop,and was very satisfied with there work and there employee's,as I am.\r I would recommend them to anyone needing repair of any kind. more

Great Place, Great Service and Great People 4/12/2010

We have had several occasions to use the Gerber Auto Center in Skokie. They are the most pleasant, efficient and greatest car repair service.??We have a 1997 White Cadillac Deville with over 150,000 miles. Last year we were involved in 2 accidents that were not our fault. A young man crashed into the back end of our car while parked at a restaurant. Next a lady backed into us in a parking garage.. Since the car is 12 years old and parts are difficult to find, they were able to get them and make the car look like brand new.??Lately we have been getting water thru the drivers side window. We stopped in at Gerber and Rob Woodcock took a look at the problem. The computer showed our door seal had been discontinued. He told us not to worry. He consulted with Sam Miller and they removed the whole rubber seal from the front and back doors. They inserted a little rubber tubing in the portion of the seal that was flattened from wear.??It worked!! We were so grateful and asked -- What were the charges? Rob told us --- NOTHING --- What a GREAT PLACE THIS IS??GREAT SERVICE and GREAT PEOPLE -- who know how to take care of their customers.?????Ted & Fanny P. more

Collision Repair 4/6/2010

Our famiy had our mini-van repaired here after an accident with a deer. We were so pleased at how fast and friendly Gerber Collision & Glass' staff was. Our repair was professionally done and was very reasonably priced! Our recommendations would go to their staff every time! Award winning service & repair! more

not only are they patient and do good work,they also did some extra work on my car that was a glorious surprise and very appreciated.\r the entire stalff was easy to talk to and mike was very sweet,he had a wonderful surprise for me,he repaired the other side of my bumper also.\r gerber turned a bad experience into a pleasant one. \r thank you so much.\r karen more

Waste of Time 3/9/2010

This place can't get anything right, and it does not seem to bother them very much to make you go back several times while they attempt to get something accomplished. Had a collision, took nearly two weeks to get the car back to what they considered complete. They left broken tail lights in place, said they didn't notice that they were cracked. Called me to come get them repaired, parts they ordered were clearly for a different car and did not fit. Went back again and they ordered the same incorrect lights. Told them to come fix it at my office and they laughed and said no. I can probably find the right parts online faster than they can. I would not go back or use this company again.? more

Windshield Replaced - Great Service 5/22/2009

Gerber Auto Glass replaced my windshield and did a nice job. Good service, fair price. I chose them because they are a local company and had a lifetime warranty. The glass technician was very friendly and answered all of my questions. more

Poor Customer Service 4/13/2009

I went in for an estimate and was treated rudely. I was told that their estimate wouldn't be accepted by my insurance company. I explained that my insurance company wanted two estimates from two different shops. They didn't bother doing an estimate and just let me sit there and wait instead of telling me. It was a total waste of time. The staff are very unprofessional. more

Gerber in Skokie 1/24/2009

I was recommended this particular location by a friend, and highly regret my decision to have my car repaired at this shop. If you need your car repaired, please take it elsewhere. I have never experienced such horrific customer service in my life. The management here is extremely unprofessional and horrendous, and reflective of their incompetent employees. Quality of work is poor, and my friend that actually recommended this particular location was even shocked after he had seen the work that had been "done" on my car, and heard what i had experienced. Ended up taking my car to Body Builders in Rolling Meadows, since Gerber had neglected and failed to complete their repairs. The service was strikingly different, and I hope no one ever has to experience what I had at Gerber Auto Collision & Glass in Skokie. more

If you ever need a car window replaced, this is the place to go for fast service and reasonable prices. They take most insurance cards and deliver when promised more

AVERAGE SERVICE 7/21/2005

I needed to replace the front and back windows in my car and I was told that this was a great shop to go to. I was a little disappointed with this shop. Their prices were a little on the expensive side. They replaced both of my windows and did a great job with that, but their time to turnaround a car once it has been given to them was very poor. The staff there were not exactly friendly either. So next time I need something like this done for my cars again I will defintely not be going back to this shop. PROS: window installation done well CONS: expensive and slow more

Great repairs 5/20/2005

We were rear ended and this shop did our repair work. They made the car look as good as new. Only complaint was waiting time (when I had an appt. I still had to wait 20 more minutes for an adjuster) and that it took 9 days to repair. Seemed like a long time. But great work. more
