No show No call free check up 8/3/2011

I give them no stars. Fast my ass we've called them 2 weeks ago to come out and check my air unit and they never came out nor did they bother to call. What a joke. They have done this three times to us and that will be the last.... Free check up means we made the bottom of there they don't matter list. Thanks.... more

2000% mark up on parts 6/9/2011

I scheduled a pre-season service call for $29.95 for each for my two AC units. During the inspection I was told that two of four capacitors needed to be replaced, one for $333.78 and the other for $398.00. I trusted that the parts prices were reasonable as the units were already apart (less than a 5 minute job) and the replacement parts only required being plugged in (less than one minute work). \r \r I should not have trusted and feel foolish. I checked on line for the replacement parts costs and both were less than $20.00. Actually I paid $731.78 for about $33 in parts. I did call the main office to check to see if there was a mistake and received a return call from the service man that acknowledged the two thousand + percent mark up, but said that was standard among all HVAC companies. He told me he did not set the prices but what I had been charged was correct. DON'T GET SCAMMED 4/30/2011

HUGE RIP OFF!!!!!!!! THEY offered A FREE AC CHECK UP SERVICE..THE AC HAD WORKED FINE UP UNTIL "GEORGE"CAME OUT!! THEN IT DID'NT WORK AT ALL! THE TECH SAID IT WOULD COST $600 TO FIX. HAD A "RELIABLE COMPANY COME OUT FOR AN ESTIMATE ONLY TO FIND OUT THAT ALL OF THE FREON HAD BEEN LET OUT!!! ...COINSIDENCE??? COST $195 TO REFILL THE FREON GEORGE'S GUY LET OUT AND NOW RUNS FINE!!!! more

read reviews before hiring 2/3/2011

i left a review for this company on kudzu as well, i was quoted 300 for the leak in my laundry room and ended up paying over 1200 for their "fantastic" service. Rip off. never use again and would run if i saw their truck driving down my street to lock my doors to keep these people out. more

Amateur quality 11/27/2010

Completely amateur hour. This spring, I had George Brazil replace both the furnace and central air at my home with new high efficiency units. Their installers did terrible job and did not even check to see if the new units worked after they installed them. NEITHER DID. Air conditioning compressor had a freon leak due to faulty joints installed by George Brazil and bad circuit boards which required multiple service calls to fix. When winter came, tried to turn on the furnace and you guessed it, it also does not work. I have been waiting on parts for over a week with no heat in the house. Good thing I am in Chandler and not in the midwest. When I was in the attic this fall, I also noticed that the condenser drain lines were installed incorrectly which I fixed. Run away from George, far, far away. more

The Worst Ever!\r Seniors! Do Not Call George!! Call Anybody But George!, Once they have your money, that's it! They are unreliable, expensive, and complete rip-off artists. Rip-Off Artists! Like magicians that come out to your house, they won't tell you that your unit is OK, they will say, that you need,.... this, that and the other for $800.00! They don't care if it is warrantied or not, They are Phoenix Valley Pirates!!\r George Brazil cannot be rated, they are below any form of measurement. more

Price gouging thiefs 11/20/2010

Appt time was between 10 and 2. He shows up at 7PM!! Charges $79.00 for a toilet flapper, $200.00 for the fill valve and was told it is "required" by George Brazil that the shut off next to the toilet must be replaced and that cost $133.00 Total after taxes for a job that took him over 8 hours to show up for and 20 mins to do cost OVER $400.00\r This company is disgusting in their fast talking service men and price gouging. Tell your friends and family to BEWARE! more

I have to say that the service I got this week from George Brazil was really Great! The technician was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the problem with my ac unit and what needed to be done to fix it. I recommend this company to anyone! more

George Brazil = Ripoff 11/3/2010

Total ripoff - I was just charged over $400 for them to fix a leaking pipe and clean a drain - all of which were completed in less than 45 MINUTES. That is about $10 per minute!! I called to complain and was told that it was "by the book". I was also told how well they pay their plumbers and what a good living they make - I guess they do it by ripping people off. Will never use them again or recommend them to anyone. more

I would have to agree with the other comments, If you want to get ripped off use George Brazil, we had a fan motor replaced in our AC Compressor. They charged us $800 for a $150 motor. We will never use George Brazil again and if you were smart you wouldn't ever more

Rip Off 8/31/2010

I needed the main breaker replaced on my electrical panel. I just replaced a 60A the day before. The cost of the breaker was $60 at home depot. The service man wanted to charge me $900 for a 200A breaker. When I asked he explained that if I paid that much for a 60A then a 200A would be much more expensive. I checked at home depot and the price for the breaker was $120. If you work the numbers on the 1.5hrs he said it would take to replace it, it breaks down to $520/hr.... I need to find one if these jobs... Can you say SCAM........ more

Expensive Parts! 5/28/2010

The technician was knowledgeable, courteous, and performed a FREE checkup/tuneup on my AC Gaspack unit. He quoted me a repair price of $185 to replace a capacitor and $800 for a blower motor. Both were still working. I thanked him for the diagnostic and said I want to think about it. I then went online and purchased the capacitor for $15 and the motor for $186....$201total plus 1.5 hours labor instead of $985! That would have been at least a 400% profit on parts!!! more

Unreliable 1/10/2010

There are 29 registered complaints with the Better Business Bureau against George Brazil. We should have looked there first! We had a large leak on a Sunday morning. They advertise no overtime or weekend rates. We called them, "no problem, we can get to you today, we just have one water heater to install and we will be right there". At 3:00pm we received a phone call. Two "members called" ("members" who he claimed pay his yearly fee and thus have priority, but this possibliity was never mentioned in our initial conversation with him) and they would not get to us until the next day, Monday. I don't think he was ever going to "get to us" on Sunday, I believe the plan was always to push us to Monday. We were left with a large leak and no plumber after waiting all day for him. George Brazil Svc is over priced and under experienced 8/15/2009

Watch out my elderly parents were totally taken advantage of by this company and it took 3 trips for them to complete the job at a cost that was 4 times what other companies quoted. more

Too Expensive 11/28/2008

George Brazil is too expensive for the service and quality you get from them. They did a little bit of work on the plumbing and preventive maintenance on the air conditioning, and we were not pleased at all. After they left, the problems reoccured the same day. They did not seem to acknowledge it, so we went elsewhere. more
