My mom has been there for over a year and we have met some of the nicest, most caring people in the world, but also some of the nastiest people. People who have no business being near infirm elderly people. I have a hard time giving an overall rating because it has been so varied. When my mom was in short term care, there were some major problems with certain caretakers. I had to contact the social workers many times to act as a go-between to make sure my mom was being cared for with compassion. Once she moved to long-term, she has been able to advocate for herself. I told her not to put up with anything. The minute somebody doesn't treat her right, tell somebody. I think the issue is that the pay is so lousy that not too many people are willing to do the job (pay for nursing assistants.) This means that low-skilled people are being hired, and there are some who have very poor people skills. Fortunately, every time my mom has had an issue and she calls the social worker, they have been completely responsive. So, yes, there are some people who work there who have no business being near elderly people. BUt there are also people there who are incredibly nice and helpful and sweet with my mom. Everybody calls her by name in the whole place. They are generally very polite to her. They make sure she is involved in activities. They asked her the other day what she would like for Christmas. They are very nice to me. One person in particular has been nice from the day I stepped foot in the place and that is Timbo. She works at the first nurse's station. When my mom had to return to the hospital, she called me at home to find out how she was. The social workers and activities coordinators are also extremely nice. Kelly, the receptionist, has also been extremely nice to me and my mom. My mom is happy there, and she knows there are some people who shouldn't be working there. I am grateful to those people who have bent over backwards to make sure she is well cared for and happy. It took a while for her to settle in and those months were a little unsettling, but I am happy that she is happy. If it weren't for those workers who treat my mom like poop, I would absolutely give this place a 5, but sadly, there are some people who should be fired. My mom, as nice as she is, says, ""Please don't tell them that bad nurse's name. I'm sure she needs the job."" more

My grandmother was in this facility for over a month. Her bed sore was not taken care of and continued to get worse. She was mistreated by one of the male nurses. He was very rude and rough. He would throw her body and belongings around.(she was in for a broke hip) He had a poor attitude and would yell about how he wasn't going to clean her bottom up leaving her in a solid diaper.\r The cleanliness of this facility is not what it should be; Very deceiving from your initial walk through.\r They allowed her to become dehydrated and delirious. The looks of this facility can be very deceiving until you learn what it is really about. The facility is poorly ran, and employees some of the most nasty, no compassion, employees I have ever come across in my entire life. I think Administration should take a way around the facility from time to time and perform random quality checks. more

At first, this facility seemed like a good pick for my Mom, after checking out about 5 local nursing/rehab homes in the area. The staff, upon visitation, were extremely cordial, friendly, and qualified. But.... as time went on and the initial care, that was given to my Mother, which seemed to be quite adequate, of course, nothing like the attention given in the hospital, quickly started to worsen. She suffered from a stroke, paralyzing her on her left side, making it impossible for her to reach her water, which was always on her LEFT side, the phone, oh the phone, never within her reach when I called her, which I did quite frequently, being in Florida with Mom in Maryland, quite a lot of missed calls. ""Very frustrating"" for me especially when the, AT FIRST, very cordial receptionist , KELLY GOTT, Gott an attitude and knew my voice after calling quite frequently, started to get snippy and arrogant when she recognized my voice, and I am learning that I am not the only person in my family she had an attitude with. Hope you Gott the point Kelly, with this review of your great phone answering skills And I must mention her exceptionally rude and uncaring nurse, FATIMA JABBE, she should NEVER, EVER be working with the elderly, she hates people and would intentionally not give my mother her protein powder, which she knew my mother needed desperately to have, to keep up her strength, not being able to chew and having a VERY hard time swallowing. FATIMA must have hated my mother and I can only say that I am now getting a chance to say what my mother could not. She passed away on June 3rd. and my only consolation is that she does not have to suffer any more on earth or in that dreaded place they call a NURSING HOME!!!!
