BEST PLACE to get a little bit of Brasil!! 6/30/2010

LadyAmor Provided by Partner
This is by far the BEST place to get a little taste of Brasil's food and drinks. The samba dancers are wonderful and beautiful! Gauchos's energy/vibe has always been fantastic and every single person there treats you like family! I have been going to this place for many years and Kevin, the owner, has always made me and my family feel special. The bartenders Soraia and Karina always take special care of me after my dinner at the bar. Mouth watering DELICIOUS drinks! I recommend the Caiperinha and Batida de Coco! Amazing!!! The Gauchos are constantly rotating every meat they have and the servers are just as nice and at times become the entertainment themselves. It really is a Very fun place!! The critic "AgoodCritic" obviously wasn't paying close attention when the servers, gauchos, managers and owner converse with one another. The majority there are speaking portuguese and are clearly brazilian!! Bottom line, thier food, drinks and service are all superb and for reasonable price. For $35 you are getting top quality meats and the salad and hot dishes side bar are just delicious! Thier spinach salad they offer is phenomenal! Like thier signature meat, Picana!! Absolutely delicious!!! Pros: Great great meats, amazing drinks and samba Cons: Not one!!! more

OVER PRICED NOT A GOOD PLACE TO EAT WITH FAMILY OR kIDS 4/30/2009

AgoodCritic Provided by Partner
people be aware this place charges to much for the buffet plus 10 dollars valet parking plus 6dollar drinks 8 dollars avarage desert this place is desing for you to eat as lil possible of the expensive meats and alot of sausage and cheap food not worth it do not go here the managers put pressure on the gauchos so they wont bring out the good meats only 1 rotation per table and then they kick you out after and hour and half courtously the manager goes to your table and says ooh thanx for coming anything else ican do for u let me know so basically she is telling you thanx time for you to leave good night, that is rude its not customer service because if that was customer service she would tell you when your leaving the place not when your having your desert still and chatting with your family its called all you can eat buffet but its more all you can eat withing an hour and half and only eat alot of sausage and the less expensive meats lol do not go here its not worth it its very very expensive and over rated you pay for the actual show then the food you want alot of good food go to greenfield churrascaria or picarhana half of the price 3 times the service and food family oriented restaurants this one is not! managers here smile while they hate you Pros: THE SAMBA SHOW IS THE ONLY gooD Thing Cons: OVERPRICEmore

After reading the reviews on this site (both good and bad), I decided to try Gauchos last night for my finances' birthday. I called earlier in the evening and was told that we could come anytime after 9:00pm. The exact words the gentleman that answered the phone used were, "We will have room for you anytime after 9:00". So we pull up at 9:37pm, the valet opens the door, takes one look at us and tells us the kitchen is closed. I ask him what time the kitchen closed and he tells me he doesn't know but the car before me left because they were told they could not be served. I tell the valet that I am going to pull up call the restaurant form my cellphone and see what they say. I call but get a recording which just upsets me more so I drive down the street to Don Cuco's. We were seated on the patio and had a great dinner. So why didn't they want to let in us at Gauchos? I have no idea. But I would rather drive to Fogo de Chow. more

I just heard of this place on the travel channel a few weeks ago and finally decided to bring my family there on saturday night, I have no regrets and didn't waste my money. The stuff was very friendly and the service was great, we had the "all you can eat buffet" wiith the Brasilian barbecue and it was delicious, the live music and the dancers were nice. We discovered a new cuisine and had a a good time, my family and i recommend this place!!! Pros: the atmosphere, the large choice of food. more

Meatlover's paradise 5/26/2008

I've been going to Gaucho's Village since it first opened 7 or 8 years ago and I've never been disappointed with the food. I've frequented other Brazilian BBQs and this is on top of my list. The quality of meat is great. The caipirinhas are strong and generous, and the service is fantastic. If you're there for dinner, make sure you ask for the leg of lamb. It practically melts in your mouth. And you can't beat the price. And best of all, it's costs almost half of what you would pay at Fogo de Chao. If you've never been to a Brazilian churrascaria, don't fill up on the salad bar. You'll be too full for all the great cuts of meat. Pros: Great food and reasonable prices Cons: Valet parking is too expensive for Glendale. You might want to try street parking more

Great Service 5/25/2008

At first we were skeptical about how this place can stand out above the rest of the trendy eateries in Los Angeles. But, as we were greeted by the warm, friendly staff and service with impeccable service, we definitely became converts!! The icing on the cake?? They surprised us with a most thoughtful, delicious dessert with a chocolate-drizzled message saying..."Happy Anniversary". Now, that's definitely a step above the rest! more

What a Disappointment 5/24/2008

We love churrascaria's and we eat out a lot we know when the food has no taste at all. We ate here for our friends birthady and we were overall disappointed with the meats they served. We felt that we overpaid for very bland and very dry meats and we tried everything they showed to our table. Even the Picahna (the Brazilian steak) was so bad very dry. Pros: Thumbs Down Cons: Thumbs Down more

we stumbled upon Gauchos Village after watch the Travel Channel's show "All You Can Eat Paradise". the minute we walked in we were greeted by such hospitality. The staff made us feel right at home. The place is so warm, pretty, comfortable, it is hard to visually describe just how nice it is. the lighting is perfect, the tables are all set so nicely, the tv screen is playing brazilian artists and the atmosphere is welcoming and upbeat. The caipirinhas were perfectly made, even the passion fruit ones. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and we could have stayed all night at this place we had a hard time leaving. The staff were all friendly, professional, accomodating.. We loved the atmosphere, the food, the company, the sitting, the warmth. It was a true find that we were very lucky to walk into. I would recommend to anyone who likes good food, atmosphere and all around top notch service. As soon as you walk in you feel like it could be any lovely place in the world, Brasil, Portugal, fancy uptown establishment, chic downtown or really anywhere. So classy, fun, welcoming and the food stood up to the rest of it's marks. I hope they never change and just continue to prosper. We already miss the place and our time there. Thank you for making it so special. Pros: All Cons: None more

my family and i went to g village sunday b4 mothers day. it was good, waiter was cute. and i asked him what kind of drinks were good and he suggested a drink that you would swear it tasted like an "orange julius" but alcocholic. the meats were great!! the filet mignon wrapped in bacon were DELICIOUS!! on friday and saturday they have a brazilian show, which i thought was NOOO big deal. it was 1 girl in the outfit and 1 guy just in white pants and a white tank top dancing around and getting people to dance. for some reason i thought the show would be better. but food drinks were GREAT!! definitely would go back again.... Pros: food drinks and cute waiters Cons: nothing really maybe parking.... more
