It is such a pleasure to stay at a luxurious, but cozy hotel, right in downtown Palo Alto. The rooms are very well appointed, with all the right touches (again, luxury is really the right word). Best to get a room that overlooks the inner courtyard rather than out over the street or parking lot. The noise from the Il Fornaio restaurant can be a little unpleasant on an early weekend morning when you'd rather be sleeping in or enjoying a quiet moment on your balcony. Overall, the common areas of the hotel are feeling a little tired and in need of "freshening". The hotel is about to be under new ownership; perhaps these issues will be addressed. The location is fabulous!
