Gallo De Oro

I teach school at nights 2 times a week. I used to eat about 3 times a month at this restaurant. The food is outstanding and the prices fair. However, tonight was the last night. Service has been going down hill for months now perhaps because of the high turnover of waiters and waitresses. It's hard to get someone to take an order; after the meal is served they disappear; if you ask for a drink refill it can take 10 minutes to get; no one seems to bother to come back to take an order for dessert; and too many times I just go to the cashier to pay as no one brings the bill. Too bad. With such poor service, I've stopped tipping which probably is a big reason they can't keep staff. more

Try one of the gold margaritas - on the rocks of course. There is no 'show' here...it's not loud music and corporate decoration....nothing to mask the true flavor that Roberto brings to the table. Whether you are in the bar, the balcony or in the restaurant - the environment is warm - like the mexican sun. This is a real family run and community oriented restaurant...one you will return to again and again. Whether you are stopping by for a quick snack and a refreshing drink after work (great salsa and perfect pico de gallo) or taking the family out for a great Saturday night meal, the food is always fresh - the service is always great and the price is just right. Arroz con Pollo...one of my 'must haves' and the fajitas are always a favorite of the hubby. more

Gallo De Oro is my favorite local mexican restaurant. The food is excellent and well priced. Service is good, decor is OK. The best part of the meal is when they bring you the check - they also bring you a dessert of fried flour tortilla covered with whipped cream and strawberry sauce. Very good and highly recomended. more
