G & S Auto and Muffler

The Customer is NOT always right at G&S. They installed an exhaust for me. When I had an issue and wanted it corrected they told me they would fix it, and bill me for it, because it would ""look goofy"".\r They wanted me to make an appointment to have it fixed, the exhaust man was watching TV in the waiting room at the time.\r I had their competition fix it for me. Same day, for free.\r I wish I would have read these reviews before I went there.\r They SUCK. Don?t go there.\r more

I have taken multiple cars to G&S in Woodstock. They deal with classics to brand new cars. My father currently has his 72 Volkswagen bug in their shop for several repairs. Kevin runs a good shop and the guys there do solid work with some of the best techs in town in my opinion . Ignore the other reviews on this site, because G&S has treated me properly and done a great job each time I've been, and that's probably over 10 times now. I recently had emissions repairs done on my 1993 300zx at G&S muffler and they even went and did the emissions test for me down the street without me knowing and of course it passed. I had no idea they did this and was enthralled that a shop would go out of their way for a customer so I felt I HAD to leave a review to settle this dilemma Tons of people go to G&S on a regular basis. This was not the first time that they have given me great deals. I also had my A/C fixed on a previous car I owned and they quoted me too high on the compressor. Any other shop could have easily charged me the original quote, but Kevin lowered the price since he got it cheaper than expected. They also fixed my vibrating exhaust once for free and no diagnostic charge. I've only had one instance where they couldn't find what was wrong with my car and it was because of an intermittent electrical issue in my 2001 Honda Civic LX Coupe. I ended up selling the car eventually. Too many issues. Anyways, treat these guys with respect and they will do the same for you. They don't deserve the bad wrap they are getting on this site. I registered on this site specifically to leave a review for G&S. These guys are good. If you don't believe me, just walk in on a Saturday and see if you can get your car in for repair. I'd advise calling ahead to make an appointment. more

my son took his 1994 honda civic to get front end alignment and they said he needed bushing and showed him it was lose but i had just replaced them a few days earlyer what they had done was losen the bolts which i had to tighten back when i called them and complained about the mechanic they did not say anything but they would tell the machanic like so what so i would say they are crooks and stay away more

I took my car in for a muffler. They agreed, the car needed a rear muffler and indicated I needed to set up an appointment. We agreed on a date and time. I brought my car in at the appointed time and I was told they didn't have the muffler and that it would have to be ordered and should be in the next day. No problem. I can live with a little miscommunication, I called the next day (because they never called me back) and left a message asking if they could please let me know if/when I should plan to bring my car in. Three days later, they call and indicate my muffler is in. I said I'll be right over. I show up and they proceed to tell me they have the wrong muffler. We're done! I have wasted enough of my time and gas. G & S does not deserve to be in business. more

Kevin and his crew are always honest and fair. have been using these guys for about three years.I send anyone who asks for a good service shop to these guys. more
