I will be back! 5/23/2008

I went here for the first time late one night when I was having my sushi craving. The restaurant is beautiful inside with numerous etchings and writings on the tables and walls. There were children running around, and it was very family friendly atmosphered. Not stuffy at all. \r My food came out in order, not allll at once which I hate, and after I ordered each came out presented rather nicely. \r The owner kept checking on me as well as my waitress. I really enjoyed the sushi. Seemed very fresh. \r I personally dont like seaweed wrapped sushi at all, and they had it just the way I like it!\r I will definately be going back:) more

GOOD FOOD 3/13/2008

THIS IS A BEST JAPANESE RESTAURANT IN CARY. I HAD A GOOD TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT. EVERYBODY IN MY FAMILY LOVE THIS RESTAURANT. MY SON GOES TO BRIARCLIFF ELEMTARY SCHOOL IN CARY. THEY DONATE 15% SALES TO THE SCHOOL PTA AND THEY ARE TRYING TO MAKE A FOUDATION OR DONATION TO THE SOME CHURCHES IN CARY. Cons: BESTEST RESTAURANT IN CARY more

Madness 3/7/2008

I am a native-Japanese. I know good sushi. I went into Fujiyama about a week ago on a Saturday night with my boyfriend to pick up some take out because the other sushi restaurants were PACKED. This place seemed nice and we heard it just opened so why not give it a try? I know why. \r Well first, I went in about 7:00pm and there were no tables, except for a few employees eating in the front. I waited for about 15 minutes until someone came to assist me. The sushi I had ordered was completely wrong but I accepted it anyway. When I took my first bite I sensed a strong fishy smell that is only emitted when gone bad. They were small portions and the ""fantastic"" $1 sushi was not worth it.\r Maybe they're not overcrowded like the other places because they are unable to compete.\r Needless to say I will not be returning and I would advise real sushi-lovers to go somewhere else! more

Sushi-- Clarence Thomas would have loved it! Prediction: Closed again in 4 months. 2/2/2008

Party of 9 on a Friday night. Got there at 6:30. Maybe 4-5 tables were full. Took us 30 minutes to get our drink orders, including us having to show the waitress how to mix a drink, because their bartender wasn't there (on a Friday night!!!). Waitress delivered an ice water down the back of my sister-in-law. My sushi roll took about 45 minutes to come out. My 2 pieces of eel nigiri took another 45 mins. About 15 mins later, the waitress brought me a roll that I didn't even order, then wanted to argue about it. Now here's the kicker-- one friend had a hair... ummm.. a youknowwhat hair... on her plate. We all freaked out, but it was just comical. Then my brother had a head hair on HIS plate. OK. We were done by that time. Took us 2-1/2 hours to get our very simple/small orders. Oh... and when we told the manager about the **** hair, he curiously replied, ""Oh, we don't have ***** hair."" OK. I have know idea if he even knew what we were talking about. This was the funniest/strangest meal I have ever had in my life. I certainly won't be back. Pros: No wait. Cons: Bartender missing in action, took forever to eat, got extra ""stuff"" in our meal more

It took forever 2/1/2008

Let me start off by saying the food was decent but definitely not worth the wait. The restaurant wasn't even busy it took us about 45 min to get the food, the waitress asked us only once for refills the whole time we were there and then they messed my check up and had to wait another 25 min just to get it corrected and reprinted. more

Best Sushi Around! 12/2/2007

My husband and I went there the other night. We decided to try a new place because we didn't want to wait forever at Sushi-Thai. Turns out, this place has the best and freshest sushi I've ever had in the Raleigh area! They were open to making a custom order for us (Sweet Potato Tempura Roll) and were incredibly friendly. The service was excellent, the place was clean, and the dining room wasn't overly crowded like at Sushi-Thai. We will definitely go back! Pros: Everything! more

Best Sushi around 10/6/2007

My husband and I usually go to Sushi Thai in Cary, but the small space makes for a long wait. So instead we saw the Now Open sign at Fujiyama and decided to try it. Well it was great, the food was right on and the service was unbelievable. The space is huge, so the wait was not bad at all. The decor is also astonishing, they have great taste. You gotta try!!! Actually I am on my there tonight. Yeah!!! Pros: Great food, Great service, Beautiful decor more

This is a brand new restaurant since Nov 2004 and I have been going there monthly since then. Not only is the food the best Hibachi I've had, the sushi is excellent and the wait staff and chefs are extremely friendly. This place deserves to be the best all around with excellent food, service, and fun. It truely is a great dining experience for all people. more

Great food, great find 7/23/2005

My boyfriend and I happened upon this place when we were starving. It was well after 10 on a weekday, we were the only ones there and the restaurant stayed open just to serve us. The sushi was good, the hibachi good. The drink menu was fantastic - great prices for unique drinks. DEFINITELY a repeat!! Pros: Price, Service, Food more

Our new favorite...and we've tried quite a few! 6/12/2005

Large portions, very high quality fish, unique specials, knowledgeable staff, sushi for two is a great deal. The salmon will melt in your mouth and you have to try the toro when they have it! Pros: very high quality, generous portions, SALMON! more

greatest experience in Fujiyama. 3/8/2005

we started with the flaming Teppan Roll. Let's just say it's the ""flaming Moe"" of Sushi. Excellent! It actually comes to you on fire completely engulfed in flames. This was a roll like no other. I highly recommend reserving a teppan grill and bringing a big party when dining at Fujiyama. The chef was off the chain with his tricks on the grill, the onion volcano was everyone's favorite. I myself had the filet mignon that you could cut with spoon, some of the best meat I have had on this planet so far. Our party was twenty people so we were able to taste the whole menu; everything from Sushi to Sashimi. All the food was very well prepared and was absolutely excellent. Our waiter and the rest of the staff was awesome,Fujiyama is the place to see in Cary,NC. I give the dinner and atmosphere an A+. more

My husband & I were in the mood for sushi, and another couple recommended we try the new FUJIYAMA. We got the calamari appetizer, and we shared a hot seafood dish & an assortment of sushi rolls for dinner. Drinks, service, and all the food was EXCELLENT! Some of the best sushi I've had since living in Okinawa! Try the ""spider roll""--yummm!! You won't be sorry if you dine at Fujiyama! Pros: Service, Atmosphere, Sushi more

Greatest new restaurent in town 2/15/2005

fujiyama is my new favar restaurent ,i'll go back there again.i highly recomment every body to try it out!! more

Run, don't walk! 2/3/2005

Don't hesitate to check this wonderful restaurant out! My fiance & I had the best hibachi ever at Fujiyama. They use the freshest ingredients, and you can really taste the difference. I thought the chef's show was the best I've ever seen too. Also, the service is impeccable. If you *think* you might need something, suddenly they are there with it. We've been 3x to Fujiyama so this isn't just a first impression review. We haven't been able to tear ourselves away from the Hibachi area to try out the sushi bar yet, but I'm betting it is out of this world. Pros: Fantastic food, Entertaining, Incredible service more
