I live really close to this spot, but I will never be eating there again. They had some type of really packed event full of men today (rugby tournament?) and they were screaming REALLY, REALLY loud (and long) sports chants for a REALLY long time (You had to be there to get what I'm talking about). I closed all of my windows and turned the TV up louder, and I still couldn't even hear myself think. Not wanting to ruin their seemingly great time, I tried to wait them out but the noise continued to get louder and louder. When I finally couldn't take it any more, I went down to the restaurant to speak to the manager. I introduced myself and explained that the extreme noise from their patio was carrying very loudly into our homes. His response..."Well, they can be as loud as they want to be until 11pm tonight." Hmmm...while that may legally be the truth, that's literally the worst response that he could have ever come up with. Along with having a business near a residential area comes a responsibility to be a good neighbor. In return, the business gets our financial support and a built-in word-of-mouth marketing team made of the local residents. Instead, F.R.O.G.S. Cantina has now shown me, and the others in my building who were congregating to figure out what in the heck was going on, that the management has a nasty attitude and doesn't care what we think. The truth of the matter is that it wasn't necessarily just the action of quieting the disruptive crowd of screamers that would have made me a happy neighbor (and former customer). All I really needed was an acknowledgment of the discomfort that was being caused and maybe a sincere apology. I would have gladly taken anything other than the smirk and rude comment that was thrown my way. Please don't visit this place. Giving them business despite the rude and nasty behavior of their management is the same as condoning the behavior. Money talks and maybe next time they'll offer up a little bit of respect. We sat at the bar and had great food and service! The drinks were reasonably priced and they even have a patio which was very busy when we went. Overall, I would recommend this place to a friend. Pros: Great, quick food, friendly service more

went for lunch on Sunday. the bbq chicken burritos were awesome. my wife had the chicken tacos and thought they were some of the best she ever had. there were a bunch of other items on the menu that I want to go back and try now. the service was good - quick refills on drinks and salsa. we're going to be regulars from now on - just disappointed we waited so long to try this place. more

This place used to be a charming SWest find in a middle of a strip mall, but has becoming increasingly tiresome and has the worst service in Midtown. The new owner is always there (that's true), but doesn't pay attention to his staff or the service given. Most of the staff have never been in the food business before and they are extremely slow. Ask the Bartender how to make a virgin drink - and they are clueless. There are many other spots one can go to for good TexMex food in Midtown, such as Zocalo or El Azteca. If you find yourself outside of the Park, just stick with Mellow Mushroom. Cons: SERVICE, MGMT, VALUE more

I LOVE FROGS! I have been eating there for years and have always enjoyed great food and terrific service. The margaritas are always strong. The chips and salsa are excellent and in case you didn't notice the title, I love their basic pizza b/c it's covered in beans and gooey cheese. I've strayed from the pizza a few times (the blackened fried shrimp platter is really good) but always go back to my beloved pizza because it is just too good. There is not doubt this the premiere Southwestern restaurant in Midtown. Management is always visible on the floor or behind the bar. Staff is very personable, prompt and well versed in tableside etiquette. The drink menu is well-rounded and an excellent selection of tequila is available. This restaurant is very involved with the community, you'll almost always here of a new fundraiser they are involved in. Order the fried chicken tacos, the pork quesadilla's. Basically, you cant go wrong with anything on the menu. Pros: food quality, bartender knowledge, location Cons: not open late more

Since Mexican food is one of my favorites, I was excited to try this place. Well, I certainly wasn't disappointed. The service is great and so is the food. I can't wait for warm weather so I can sit on the cool patio and enjoy the fantastic margaritas! The owner is always there making sure you're greeted properly and that everything else is just right. Highly recommended. more

The selections here are surprisingly good despite the place's suburban chain feel. Burritos and tacos are really good bets. The patio is great for hanging out and people-watching, but the drawback is that you're out in the open for all sorts of odd characters (usually on their way to Hoedown's) to gawk at you. The cheap plastic chairs detract from the outdoor experience, but it's still a good, solid place for a quick pre-movie bite. Pros: Great patio Cons: Gawkers, Cheap chairs more
