this salon does everything. they have hair services including extensions. very hard to find just anywhere. they do nails and facials of all kinds. for both men and women and kids. good product lines and very knowledgable for all kinds of hair types. the coolest shampoo refill program i just signed up for. check this place out. these people love their work. its very nice inside and kept in great condition. Dont let the old reviews for this salon scare you away...i have been in there for the last 4 1/2 months and whatever i have read about past services just isnt so. i have my hair cut and color done by several hairdressers and love them both. there are lavish spa services to compliment my visit. my nail tech is great - albeit shes new to the location by about 5 months - but she does the best acrylics in the area. front desk staff goes above and beyond. beats ALL salons in the area. We've followed Errin from her last shop becaue of how well she treats her customers, makes recommendations after getting to know your style, and overall personality. Every style has been great, her recommendations for products great (shampoo/conditioner/color), and she's just a joy to go see. Highly recommended to all my friends to use her also! I recently had a cut and color from Errin and was so happy with the results. She made me feel at ease going short with my hair and did an amazing job fixing my last bad cut/color. Errin was extremely professional, however, and did not badmouth my previous stylist. I will not trust anyone else with my hair from now on! If you are checking out Friends Salon for the first time, please ask for Errin. You will not be disappointed! As for the salon itself, it is a very clean, professional, and classy environment. Living in the area, I thought it would be a good local salon. I gave it about three tries and had to go to another hairdresser to have my hair re-cut. Terrible skills (or at least the hair dresser I saw). Would NOT recommend this salon. Pros: small, no wait Cons: awful haircuts more

I have come in twice to Friends Salon and Spa. Errin did such an excellent job cutting my hair and gave me a consultation on color. I had wanted to go darker and was nervous about the results. She helped me find a color that would work for me and I really love how it turned out. I have had nothing but wonderful experiences at the salon and will be headed back soon. I went to this salon based on the referrals of several friends. I absolutely loved everything about it. They do hair, nails and waxing. I was greeted by a team of really happy people...not easily found in many work places. There was positivity and smiles all around. You could tell they all love to work there! I loved my hair cut and can't wait to go back to get my acrylic nails done. If you are looking for a new salon they have many stylists and services to choose from. This one is a MUST! I lived very close to Friends Salon and went there several times. I had my haircut there at least 4 times and was NEVER really satisfied!!! I even had my hair cut UNEVENLY!!! the price is way TOO MUCH for the type of work they do!! The girl that cut my hiar was very proffessional and nice, but is NOT the best with cutting hair!!! Tried going there because it was so close to home. I gave it several tries. Staff is rude and looked down their nose at me just because I didn't look made-up like everyone else, job was sub-par and they were trying to pressure me into buying products from them. I had to leave at my first appointment because they forgot about me--I sat there any waited over half an hour, didn't see my girl anywhere and no one bothered to ask me if I needed help, just walked right by me every time I tried to speak with someone. Ok, so Last Minute i just had to get my hair done, ---finally! I always put this sort of stuff off, and this time I waited just too long........my old stylist had just changed careers!!!! I was frantic! I called a girlfriend of mine who recommended Ashley at Friends in Happy Valley. I took the chance. ( I really needed to get my hair done, it was way way too old, I know you know the look! ) And what the heck other choice did I really have???? I contacted Ashley, and told her my dilemma. Unfortunately Ashley was headed out on Vacation at the end of the week, AND she was totally booked! I was like, ok, well after 4th of July is fine. (I really wanted to have the new 'do for the holiday. Go patriotism!) She actually offered to come in on her day off. I pretended to resist, she genuinely instisted. Oh am I glad! Ashley did such a wonderful job of coloring my hair! I had a complicated idea I wanted, and some pretty wild expectations in color & style. She did an excellent job of getting it just right! She matched the color to suit my complexion PERFECTLY! And she did a great job of keeping the shape of my hair cut, with out cutting too much. Throughout the whole process she was super friendly and professional. She went out of her way to make me feel welcome and comfortable. She asked a lot of questions to be sure she understood what I was expecting (hoping, praying fervently, etc). Oh Boy! Did she deliver! I left looking and feeling great. Now, it's two days later, my hair still looks and feels great! The Bonus: I haven't lost any color to fading even after shampooing twice! (very uncommon with the primary color pigments). Thank you so much Ashley! I hope you enjoy your Vacation at least half as much as I enjoyed my time 'in the chair'! Pros: Lovely location, great service, beer & wine while you 'do Cons: NONE! more

I went in on my birthday for a pedicure, and it was the worst experience. The front desk staff came across as really phony nice (bordering on rude), the pedicure chairs are extremely uncomfortable - and it took forever. Not because it was a nice, relaxing pedicure that made me feel pampered, the woman was just slow. (Although she was nice). Cons: way overpriced, annoying staff more

I have been going to Rene at Friend's Salon for almost 10 years. He was the first stylist that could figure out my wild hair and how to deal with it. The result has been a consistently great cut even when I asked to change styles. I found Rene way back when he still worked in NW Portland and haved since followed him all the way out to Happy Valley, even though it is now a 30 minute drive for me to get there. My wife, who gets her hair colored, goes to Rene as well and couldn't be happier. We love Rene. He is such an awesome hair stylist and a super nice guy. If you are a lady who dreads getting their haircut or is always disappointed in the outcome, i.e. color, style, etc., you ought to go to Rene because that is not a worry that you need to live with. If you're a guy who thinks ""oh, you're always two weeks away from a good haircut"", go to Rene! ...and then think again! more

I have been going to Rene for hair services for 6+ years and have followed him from 2 different salons to his current one at Friends. The salon is trendy and upscale with a very relaxing atmosphere. I am always greeted by the staff and asked if I would like something to drink. I love the first class treatment I get when I am there! more

I really wanted to say nice things about this salon but I just can't ... 1) in regards to colour: a) my colour came out horribly brassy b) it didn't cover my gray c) the application was spotty and uneven 2) in regards to cut: horrible. horrible, horrible, horrible. my hair was literally cut completely uneven, with a difference of about two inches. 3) service: so-so. My stylist was nice but the salon manger was rather aloof and rude. He also verbally disciplined my stylist for not displaying their products properly, right in front of me, which made me very uncomfortable and I found to be in very poor form 4) For a new salon they are not doing very well. I am new in town so I thought I would go check out friends salon. When I came in no one greeted me, no one offered me anything to drink, I was just ignored. After about 2o mins late for my appt, Renea finally came and get me. He fried my hair off and then told me we had to cut 5 inches off my hair for it to be healthy. I was so upset with my hair he had the nerve to ask me to pay for my hair. I paid 160.oo for my hair to fall out and I cant use a hair dyrer or my hair will break off. So if you want the worst service and the worst stylist ever go see Renea at Friends salon. Pros: nothing Cons: everything in the world more
