I've been referring Friendly Plumber to all my friends since 2000. Their lead guy, Robert, saved me from a major lawsuit -- something the previous plumber missed. Reliable, and true to their name. more

I recently had a problem with water backing up into my shower. After talking to several plumbers, I chose Friendly based on my initial conversation with Rob. His rate was a little over the other plumbers I talked to, but his real strength is his ability to clearly communicate his thinking and plan of attack. Rob did the job (installing an external cleanout and examining the main sewer line with a camera) quickly and professionally. He was easy to deal with and flat out a good guy. more

Friendly Plumber is the genuine article. No wonder they have so many positive reviews, this company helped me above and beyond the call of duty. I called last Saturday because my water heater was leaking. They weren't open for business, but apparently their receptionist was doing inventory and overheard my panicked message on their answering machine. She hooked me up with a plumber, Robert, who walked me through the proper way of shutting off the water heater and so on. Monday came and Robert was over first thing in the morning and correctly hooked-up my new water heater. I am happy with the price I paid, which I think is about average, and Robert is a definite pleasure to do business with. Not only is he a great tradesman but was extremely professional and polite! more

Great customer service! I called at the end of the day and they were able to squeeze in my almost emergency problem, last minute! more

I found them through Google when I was trying to figure out if I should have my son fix my faucet or call a plumber.  Well, it turned out it's ultimately faster and cheaper if they do it. Whew! Those tv shows gave me ideas, but this is much better. Plus Robert was pretty nice too :) more

I called Friendly Plumber first, but got an answering machine because I guess it was outside their business hours. I left a message, then proceeded to call the other supposed good plumbers here and one after another, I got answering machines. Companies who claim to be open 24 hours, 7 days a week, and I got the annoying beeping tones of answering machines. I guess I should have looked closely because someone else already ran into the same problem, and made a list for people like me to see in the first place - 24/7 Plumbers That Aren't. It's really frustrating to me that apparently, plumbers don't answer phones anymore. I suppose things are that good. But I digress. At the stroke of 9:00 o'clock, I got a call back from Friendly Plumber. Wow, now that's professional. I told the receptionist that my sewer is backed up. She asked several questions about the problem and told me that it might be best to call this other rooter company who has the proper equipment, and personnel for that type of work.  I called that guy who promptly answered the phone, and finally, he was able to clear the clog before noon. I suppose I should have just waited for Friendly Plumber to open in the first place so that I didn't have to go through the run around. If I ever have another problem in the future, I know the one and only plumber I'll be calling. more

I called Friendly Plumber for my stopped up toilet. Their receptionist told me they don't do that kind of work because they employ plumbers, not drain cleaners. Ok, but she did help by giving me options on what I can do. I think this is pretty interesting insider information, considering I had no idea this is how I could get things done for the least amount. I'm sharing this information for all of Yelp to see, because I'm through with this issue. Enjoy! 1) ROOTER BONG The receptionist said I can call this company who does specialize in stoppages. They have the proper equipment, and their company owner knows this company's owner, who is a good guy, and will give me honest service. 2) HOME DEPOT PRO, COLMA Apparently, I can rent a "snake" this is what it's called at Home Depot, and if I get my husband to deal with it, it only costs around $45 total for a 1/2 day rental. 3) YELLOW PAGES Plumbing companies advertise drain cleaning specials for $50 total. And $50 wins the pot! That was the magic number for me, which I noticed is also considerably lower than the other plumbers' rates here. That's too bad Friendly Plumber doesn't do this type of work because it would have been nice not to open the phone book at all, but it was very professional of their receptionist to go through the trouble of spelling out the options for me even though their company's getting absolutely nothing by helping me out. more
