NOT FOR A POOR MAN 10/16/2011

Wife and I had a couple hour wait for the Senior Fair to open the doors. I had seen Fred's on The TV CH 5 Food Show and figured we could get a great breakfast there. Wife wanted a chicken Fried Steak, gravy and eggs. It was $15.00 and coffee was 2 bucks each. I just had coffee and thought maybe it would be so big we could share. The 2 eggs were small, steak was about the size of my fist and the one biscuit was a 1 biter but about 2 cups of potatoes. There was really only enough for my wife so I just had the coffee. Waiter was very friendly and kept the coffee coming. Like I said not for the poor man. more

Best Burger...There, I Said It!! 9/15/2009

I had my first Fred's experience recently and they now have a customer for life! The inside is small and diner-like with Gene Autry movies playing on the TV's, good country music playing and concert posters on the wall. My husband and I went at an ""off"" time, as we tend to get out and about for lunch around 2 p.m. usually. Some of the staff were hanging out and chatting, with what seemed like a few regulars hanging out at the bar. All of this made for such a friendly and laidback vibe, I felt instantly comfortable. My husband had the Fred Burger and I had the Diablo Burger. The fries were fresh cut and made in-house. Definitely not frozen and out of a bag! The patty on both burgers was juicy and flavorful. As many may already know, the Diablo burger has won Fred's many accolades and as I discovered, for good reason. The swiss cheese was perfectly melted, the vegetables fresh, and there were big, thick slices of chipotles with smears of adobo sauce dripping off the sides. The chipotles did not overwhelm, however. All the flavors worked well together and the chiies gave everything a nice kick! Now, I love spice but do not like it when the spice is so strong, you can't taste anything. The Diablo had my nose running and my forehead glowing, but I could still taste everything...awsome!! As long as my mouth still works, I'll keep coming back to Fred's!! Pros: great atmosphere, great food, fun more
