Frank's Steaks

The one thing that stands out about Frank's Steaks is their service. The waitress was excellent and really cared about making my experience good- she took the time to answer questions about the menu, offered recommendations and checked in frequently to make sure everything was ok. In fact, several people stopped by to see if I wanted anything else, asked me if my dinner was good etc- what a pleasant change from the typical service nowadays where you're treated almost as an afterthought. Anyway, about the food- I found it good but not remarkable. My filet mignon was good, but kind of fatty for that cut of meat, and although it was nice that they offered sides with the steak (mashed potatos and creamed spinach), they were relatively average. I've definitely had better on all accounts. What I was very disappointed with was the french onion soup. It was very peppery and lacked the light taste of wine that i enjoy in that dish. Also, the cheese was rather burned on top. I would not order that again. Since the service was so superior, I will probably go back again, but I was kind of let down with the meal, in general. more

This was our first time to Franks because of many recommendations. It was a Friday night and the bar was a little busy. We like to have a cocktail before being seated and found plenty of seats around the bar. As we sat and visited with our friends the bar seemed to get a bit too loud. To our surprise, the noise came from the barmaid. She seemed to be having more drinks then the patrons. When we decided to take our drinks to the table, there seemed to be a problem with forwarding the check. She insisted we pay her. After being seated we had the time of our life. The waitstaff was lovely. We had two wonderful servers who made sure our night was a success. Our table was constantly being taken care of. Next time we visit Franks we will be seated immediately and have our drinks at the table. Good Job! Pros: great food, wonderful waitstaff Cons: noisy bar, rude barmaid more

I have been going to this local Jericho Steak House for many years. Just like everyone else I venture outside my local area to dine at the many restaurants L.I. has to offer but you know I am always most satisfied when I come back to Frank's Steaks. Franks food is always good and consistant. \r I love their caesar salad and cajun calamari for starters and the porterhouse steak is always terrific. They have a bartender named Suzie who makes up these tasty raspberry martinis rimmed with sugar that really starts the night off right.\r Service is usually pretty good but the place gets so busy that sometimes service is a little slow. All I know is I get good value for the money and its not as pricey as the competition. Franks is a comfort zone for me and I reccomend highly. Pros: Great Food, Good Service and Warm atmosphere. Cons: Portions are too big and its a busy place. more

I love New York steakhouses and have been to most of them but for the money this is the best value. Franks is not as pretentous as the others and they have a warm and friendly staff. I like how they treated us.\r \r The Prime New York Strip was wonderful and they serve a delicious jumbo shrimp cocktail in a large goblet with lots of cocktail sauce and horseradish. The calamari and baked clams are as good as it gets. I also think the roasted chicken they serve is so good. The side dishes at Franks are very large and very good. Pros: Great New look with same great food and reasonable prices. Cons: Too much action and busy bar. Hard to get a seat. more

We had dinner on a busy Friday night and my friends and wife had some great appetizers. They serve a cajun calamari with a romoulade that is unique and terrifice. We als shared an order of Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms with roasted peppers that was great. \r \r Our server was busy but she gave us very good service. Our first round of drinks were served promptly and they had a nice selection of wines by the glass.\r \r On her recommendation I had the ""Franks Famous"" Romanian Skirt Steak and can you believe it was really really great. My wife had the sesame encrusted Tuan steak that she loved. My friend ordered the Baby Back Ribs and could'nt say enough about the smoky sweet BBQ Sauce and how the meat just fell off the bone.eat. His wife had the New Zealand Lamb and was equally pleased. We had some family style side ishes and they have the best creamed spinach. The broccoli was fresh but a little to el dente for my taste.\r \r You must try the deep dish cheesecake that I have never seen served that way. It was served in a jumbo coffee cup with raspberrry purre and was big enough to share. The server also told us the Triple Chocolate Layer Cake was made in house and was amazing. \r We shared the two desserts and were totally stuffed and satisfied. \r \r All together we loved Franks Steaks and will be going back again soon. The dinner for four with cocktails and wine cost us about $60 a person. Two Thumbs Up Pros: Great Steaks at more reasonable prices and new decor. Cons: It gets very busy and wait times can be a little long. more

awful fatty steak considering $40 for a prime ny strip sirloin - almost inedible to someone who has enjoyed good steaks at good steakhouses - very discouraging. you could go almost anywhere in the vicinity and do better more

We are 4 couples who get together for dinner, once a month, or so. We wanted to do a casual night out at a steakhouse. We had all been to Frank's but many years before, so we were anxious to try it again. First, the waiter dropped an entire drink on me as we were waiting for our meal. The manager was rude and then they refused to move us to another table that was open (which was not under the air-conditioner vent). I was drenched. Then we had to wait over 1 hour for the appetizers to get delivered. They were served luke warm. More mistakes with the entree's, and the night was a bust. Several of us got sick the next day. Coincidently friends of ours went the next week and they came home sick too, and complained about shoddy service and rude management. Pros: it is a steakhouse Cons: bad service, sub-par food that was not correctly cooked, rude management. more

the shrimp cocktail with homemade horseradish is a great start and the steaks are outstanding but my favorite is the porterhouse for two. then you get to dessert there apple pie is unbeliveable and the surroundings are elligant and at the same time relaxed with paper table cloths for the kids to draw on and if good enough will find a place on the walls.
