Franklin Spa

I arrived early for my massage in West Bloomfield. No one was there to greet me, but two other customers were seated in the small waiting area. Finally someone came down the stairs and asked me to have a seat. It was more like a stool or crate, and it was awkward with seating so close to the other women who were talking, I had no place to divert my eyes without looking like I was staring. Finally someone came and moved me into the 'pedicure' area for a soak. People seemed confused as they came back and forth, to offer me magazines, tea and apologize for the wait. Initially they said 10-15 minute wait. I read a magazine, she drained the water out of my sink. My feet were cold and wet, no towel, no further contact. After 40 minutes, I asked if someone was coming for me. They moved me into another small room for a minute then took me upstairs. The massage was wonderful, but I think she shortchanged me 10 minutes. I had asked for an eyebrow wax, which they offered to do without charge. They also then added in a mini-facial, which was quite lovely. They apologized repeatedly for the delay (45 minutes!) and I did certainly appreciate the efforts to comp some extra services. They just seemed disorganized and short staffed, as the massage therapist was the one running around seating people and moving them through. The place was small and not my taste in decor for a spa. But it was clean (no toilet paper and a shared hand towel in the restroom!) and relaxing. The services provided were good though and they did a nice job at recovering from the confusion and delay. more

Today was my birthday and I spent an hour on the internet reviewing spas, and then decided on the Franklin Spa. I had an amazing time! The spa was quaint and tastefully decorated in a very relaxing atmosphere. The spa is in an old historical house with alot of character. I had a pedicure by Andrea, she did a great job, she scrubbed, rubbed and massaged away! Afterwards I had a body scrub and wrap and massage with Vikka who has strong yet gentle hands. I've had many a massage but this one was relaxing yet therapeutic at the same time. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, I had a facial with Irena. She massaged my face, cleaned my face, and put vitamins, collagen and masks on my face, as well as encasing my hands and feet in creams and hot packs. It was the perfect day!! Last but not least, Andrea put the polish on my nails to complete my pedicure, fed me delicious mousse filled chocolates, hydrated me with water and herbal tea, and put me to dry on a chaise lounge that really made me feel like a queen for a day!! I highly recommend this spa, their services and their warm,friendly attitude exceeded my expectations. more

Relaxing atmosphere, great staff. I went for a massage the therapist really knew her stuff. I really like that she took to talk to me about what I wanted to experince. The packages that they offer are really great. I will be going back real soon for my facial, pedicure, and my next massage, cant wait. I was visiting from out of town for a wedding. I went to the Franklin Spa for 3 hours of spa treatment. I loved my facial and my massage. My manicure and pedicure were not good. The nail polish for my pedicure was so thick that it smeared off 1 hour after the pedicure was completed. SInce I only had 1 hour until the wedding, I had to go and get a new pedicure someplace else and ending up paying another $20. When I contacted the spa to complain, they were very responsive and offered to credit my Visa. Then, when I tried to call them back to give them the number, the line was either busy or nobody picked up. When I finally reached somebody, she apologized and took my information, promising to credit me. That was 3 weeks ago and still nothing. I would have given them 3 stars had they remedied my problem, but they did not. It is unfortunate because I really enjoyed my facial and massage. We recieved a Gift Certificate from Franklin Spa for Christmas and experienced a calm, relaxing time. My wife and I were stressed from air travel when we arrived in Michigan. We were looking forward to the Couples Package. An Asian inspired treatment room had a fireplace that set the mood for warmth and relaxation. The music was tranquil and additional niceties enhanced our visit.. Our therapists were great and their warmed hands with essential oils did the job. My wife fell asleep and after waking her didnt want to leave. My experience there was better than others I've had. The Therapists and staff were cordial and welcoming. This is their second location. We will return. Pros: Friendly, professional, staff. well appointed feng shui environment. Cons: Need to schedule appointment in advance for availability. Need more staff. more

I had a facial at the Franklin Spa and it was the best one that I have ever had. My sister and I both live out of town and will get services here any time we are in the area. I live in Las Vegas and some of the spas in town are like factories. This place is quaint, pleasant, and relaxing. I had a mini massage and a manicure also and loved them both. I recently booked a spa day at the Franklin Spa for myself and four of my employees as a reward for their hard work. We had a terrific time, The spa is beautiful, very clean and extremely relaxing. The charming downtown Franklin location is perfect. The interior has cute little works of art that really appeal to the senses. The staff is warm and welcoming and extremely professional. We each had massage and facials with pedicures. The pedicure is the best I have ever had and one of my team members fell asleep during her massage. Another member of my team has already gone back and booked a recurring appointment for facials. I would recommend this spa to anyone looking to be pampered and treated like a queen for a day.
