There is not a person or group of people that I trust to care for my "babies" more than my friends at Franklin Kennels. I started going to them in 1986 and would not consider going anywhere else. They are family to me and I can say that because having lost a dog recently, the girls at the kennels were by my side during that awful experience. My dogs love going there and when I say we are going for a bath, the barking begins and they run to the door. Anyone that knows me, knows that my pets are my children and they mean the world to me and knowing that I am leaving them either for the day for a bath or for boarding, I am perfectly comfortable knowing the hands I am leaving them in. They are the greatest! Pros: null Cons: null more

Highly Recommend 12/30/2011

Fantastic for grooming and boarding! The staff here care about each and every animal that comes in the door, they are friendly and nice with the customers but more importantly they are kind, gentle and loving with the animals. I have taken my pets here for years and my dogs get incredibly excited when I say "let's go see Dana (their groomer)". My dogs are rescues and one is very skittish...she LOVES it! Both dogs walk straight back with excitement like they are off for an adventure.\r \r My pets are all INCREDIBLY spoiled by anyone's standards and I will agree with prior reviews about the "older look" of the building.... BUT, it is clean, well run and I couldn't ask for more heartfelt love and care of my pets by the staff. The "look" of a place is far less important than the care of my pets.\r \r I also consider it a plus that the kennel is associated with Williamson County Animal Hospital so that if anything is needed a doctor or vet tech is only 100 ft away. \r \r I wouldn't take my pets more

Most experienced and best in town 12/27/2011

I've been boarding my pets with these folks for years... in fact I'm on my second generation of family pet boarding. These people know me... my dogs... my vehicle, etc. When we hit the door we are greeted with the same familiar faces that we've seen for years. They really love my dogs and my dogs can't wait to get inside to see their friends. We love out groomer.... she's very talented and has been there a long time too. We wouldn't go anywhere else. They seem like family !! Pros: null Cons: null more

Took a Tour 12/3/2008

I recently took a tour of this kennel as an alternative to where we normally take our Bassett. Their daily rate was significantly less (I thought the place we took our dog to was rather pricey), so I thought it was worth a look. All of the people were very nice. However, my first impression was that it was a rather old looking/run down building and I was almost overcome with "dog" smell when walking in the door. The kennel area was very loud. The cage areas looked cold and uninviting - cinder block walls half way up then chain link fences on the top half. I couldn't help but think it had an institution / prison feel. This may not be a fair post since I have not used their services, but I think first impressions say a lot. Plus, our Bassett is pretty spoiled and I'm sure he would NOT be happy with us for putting him there. more

Ok for grooming but not boarding 3/20/2006

I have brought my dog here to get her nails cut and they did a good job but they brought me to the back through the kennel and I would never board my baby here. This place is too loud which might seem like a bad complaint for a kennel but the dogs did not seem happy, dogs where in cages and have unobstrcted views of each other and bark constantly. When I board my dog I need to know she has room to run. Also, they do not bring the dogs outside enough. more
