We had pizza delivered from Miami! No kidding--it came on dry ice, ready to finish baking and it was the best pizza we ever ate. If you haven't tried it, this is your chance. Who knew! Roxanne, one of the owners, says wait til the weather is cooler so the delivery is less expensive. I think it's probably worth it any time! Read the history of the shop, check out the retro sign and order today. more

I'm 25 and my mother has been eating here since SHE was 15!!! This place is amazing. Unique taste. I've had New York pizza and it's hard to compete but Frankie's is right there next to my NYC pizza. more

No idea about the other review - I never grew up on this pizza sadly - but I found it in my college years. I have loved it ever since. For one - amazing crust (flavor and crunch), sauces, and toppings (garlic is one of my favorites). For two - I /LOVE/ supporting small businesses. Their ingredients/food tends to be better, and the service (as well as history in this case) are rich. Super recommend this place always - and I find their half-baked pizza offers very intuitive... that way if you have to take it home - you still get fresh pizza with their recipe. \r \r Awesome place - only downside is I keep going on the one day their closed for some reason, as well as no credit cards. >D\r I really like this place. :) more

The pizza is undercooked, even when you ask them to over cook it. \r \r I'm not sure why this place is soo popular. I guessing that many people just grew up on Frankie's and did not have many other options prior the 1980's. The location could also be a reason for it's popularity.\r \r Aside from it being a hole in the wall, the pizza is undercooked. The cheese does not stay together. I will not be returning to this pizza shop. more

THE BEST BY FAR!!!! 3/2/2011

I grew up on Frankie's, I worked at Frankie's during high school and it is one of the very few things I miss about Miami. It is a snapshot of a better time and the best pizza ever. With places closing left and right these days, it is a comfort to know that Frankie's will endure for decades. more

I nearly ran over Rene' while crossing Bird Road! Get the HALF-BAKED --trust me! Or eat on the cat-infeststed patio -or in your car, if you must, but Never, Ever, drive it home and serve it up 20+ minutes later. more

Frankie's the Best anywhere! 1/4/2010

I grew up on this pizza. Moved out of town after Hurricane Andrews and still crave for their pizza. Pros: Best Pizza by far Cons: They won't franchise more

Frankies is unique, and it's the best pizza in Miami, perhaps in Florida. Half baked for a long drive home, or to ship, or done to perfection in their very busy ovens... Frankie's is served as individual square slices topped with the best ingredients you'll find on a pizza. If you like anchovies, you'll love the ones they use. Family owned since the 50's... they do just one thing, and they do it right. This isn't a place to sit and eat- but there's some room at the counter if you just can't wait until you get home. more

YUMM YUMM 11/8/2008

Hi Everyone! Pros: The Pizza and Garlic Rolls!!! Cons: Well..... There's NONE more

Still unique - my favorite pizza of all along with my pie of chicago (used to be one in kendall, miami) 8/29/2008

The previous review who hated it must have gone on a bad day-i worked in and eventually owned the McDonalds down the street on Bird Road and a few others, and knew Frankie and Roxanne for 30 years plus-It was a little better when Frankie lorded over the place, he worked near 24 / 7 , but Roxanne tries hard to keep up his tradition. I've never had a better , more unique tasting pizza- all the others are clones of each other-frankies has a unique taste, texture and shape- she needs to go back to fresh mushrooms tho-i started buying the half baked and adding my own at home- mabey the bad review bought a half baked one and didn't realize it was half cooked-mabey thats why he hated it. I wish ""My Pie "" of chicago would come back-that was totally different tasting too-- super thick and gooey-no dried up crust there-- those two made me bored with ordinary pizza forever. Thanks for the tip that they ship thru on line now. Pros: No seating Cons: Owner often on premise more

Don't get fooled like I did 7/6/2008

Drove from Kendall to get the ""Best pizza in Miami"". What a joke on me. This pizza is 1 step above a frozen pizza from my fridge. I'm not kidding. These reviews must be from the owner's relatives because this pizza is cut in dried up squares. Now realistically I wasn't expecting a New York tasting pizza but I never expected this. Every regular pizza chain taste better than this. The crust was crunchy like stale bread. The cheese was relatively tasty but I like a pizza I don't have to scrape of the crust to enjoy. I was born in Miami 49 years ago and never had a worst pizza. Cons: dissapointing pizza more

Pizza of the Gods!!! 3/26/2008

This is THE BEST PIZZA in the world!!! I am 1 year older that Frankie's Pizza - it is the very first pizza I ever ate (when I first got teeth @ 2 and a 1/2!) and the memory of that exquisite flavor has never left me - nor has it ever changed in 53 years! I am a Miami native and I've witnessed a lot of changes here but the 1 thing I am so glad has remained exactly the same in Miami is FRANKIE'S!!! My 5 siblings are also Frankie's addicts and we have turned-on everyone we know to the most delectable pizza this side of the Moon. It is our family tradition to have Frankie's whenever our ""tribe"" gets together. We literally swoon with the pleasure of eating a Frankie's Pizza! I highly recommend it to the rest of the world! Thanks Roxanne and thank you Frankie! more

On my speed dial!!!! 7/27/2006

It's the only pizza place I would concider placing on my speed dial on the cell...Get a Frankie's pizza craving call them up & 20 minutes later...my mouth is salivating just thinking about it....Definitely worth the drive where ever you are at!!!!! Cons: no delivery more

  • In Short
Walk into Miami's oldest pizzeria, but don't go scrambling for a table. There aren't any. This is a takeout joint, but you'll see hungry patrons redefine that by chowing down...
