Best

I own three dogs and have been using this vet since 2006. Everyone there is incredibly kind and helpful, they treat my dogs like they love them, and my dogs love going to the vet!

Wish they took humans. The only drawback here. Superb clinic. Thank you. Lee more

Saved My Dog's Life 8/18/2010

My dog, Roxy swallowed some Gorilla Glue, and I immediately took her to Fountain City Animal Hospital, where the Doctor's took immediate action, and saved her life. She required immediate surgery to her stomach to remove this glue that had expanded to the size of a Nerf football. Their staff and Doctor's were very friendly and sympathetic to the situation. I will be forever grateful for their quick action and reasonable prices. Thank you so very much. Roxy is doing great. Jennifer Proctor more

An honest vet clinic! 9/26/2009

I took my Schnauzher/Shih tzu mix to Ftn. City to get a second opinion on a cherry-eye condition. The first opinion included a surgery-only treatment. The Fountain City vet could easily have taken advantage of the first opinion, as there are two unique surgery techniques in use. Instead, I was told surgery is the last resort and given a prescription of cortisone drops. I am so appreciative of a vet clinic that does not prey on the emotion of a pet owner during a time of duress. Pros: did not take advantage of me more

Good Office 8/29/2009

This is a really nice practice. It isn't our regular one, but when my uncle got sick, and we had to go out of town on an hour's notice, they were right there to help us out and take great care of our cat. They're very nice, and you can tell they really love animals. They also have their lobby divided with different doors for dogs and for cats. Our cat is fine with dogs, but if your pet isn't, that could be a plus. more

Wouldn't go anywhere else! 10/3/2008

We have taken our pets to FCAH since 1999. We have always had the best of service with them. I have twice tried other locations due to various circumstances and always went back to FCAH. Their staff is great and the doctors are wonderful. I have two basset hounds and one is accident prone to say the least and they have always been so great with him. Their boarding is good as well. Like I said over the years we have come to love this place and will continue to take our pets there!!! A++ Pros: Hours Cons: Price more

Caring Understanding Healers 9/9/2008

I have been taking my cats to Fountain City Animal Hospital since 1987 - yes, 1987! They are wonderful people who care about the animals and their people, and fully understand the relationship between them. My cats are like children to my husband and I and the Doctors at FCAH appreciate that fact. They have seen us through all manner of routine checkups and vaccinations as well as illnesses and the occasional injury. I began using their services at the beginning of my sister Calicos' lives and they saw me all the way through the end of their precious lives 15 years later with such genuine caring and support. They have trained us to give medications, injections, whatever has been needed to provide the best and most cost efficient solutions for our cats - they've never begrudged our wanting to be involved, in fact they've encouraged it. They've seen us through 2 more old cat's deaths with the same care, helping us make final arrangements for all four of these sweet ones. We use their wonderful cat boarding service with our two brother black cats we have now whenever we must travel - it is fabulous. I highly recommend the Fountain City Animal Hospital. Pros: All Good more

Convenient, Caring, Progressive 7/22/2008

I have taken all 3 of my dogs here for about 2 years, and all have been treated well. My favorite is Dr Lee, she is especially nice and helpful, but all the doctors I've seen there have been great, true animal lovers. The vets never rush and always answer your questions fully. Once I called in a question about whether or not dogs could get staph infections. They researched my question fully and called me back in just a short time with answers. Very helpful and thorough. more

MOST CARING IN KNOXVILLE 7/12/2008

I have been taking my animals to FCAH since 1999. I refuse to even think about another vet. The office is always clean, they have convienent hours, friendly staff as soon as you walk in. I have received the highest quality of service regardless of the appointment needed for my animals. I have heard that some offices are cheaper on vaccines and other services, but cheaper is not always better in some cases. In late February (2008), my dog became ill - Long story short, my girl being 14 yrs. lost the battle. The staff went above and beyond in their service. From the front desk, the assistants, and of course the Vets, they assisted in every aspect. My family and I received condolence cards, and phone calls for the next week or so to see how we were doing and if they could be of any additional assistance. Fountain City Animal Hospital understands that they are not seeing just another animal, they are providing care for your extended family member; in my case my ""dog"" was my child and they COMPLETELY understand and care. I continue to take my current animals to be cared for and in the future if/when I get another dog, that is the first place I will take him/her. more

Do they even care about pets? 7/3/2008

I'm amazed that this place not only ignores faxes and phone calls to get pet prescriptions refilled but doesn't seem to care about pets being off their meds, doesn't contact you to tell you if they will take care of it or not and why, and doesn't care if you're upset at their service level! It's like your request goes into a black hole and never comes out. If you try to complain about the service they cut you off by saying it's somebody else's problem to deal with. Don't be dependent on them for ongoing pet care! If a doctor treated you this way you'd never go back. more

Great for behavioral issues 6/30/2008

I've had no problems with this animal hospital. I got a reference from a friend who had animal acupuncture done there (which she said was very helpful in relieving pain the animal had from a chronic condition). I took my cat in - who had serious behavioral problems - and also my husband, who had trouble interacting with the cat. The veterinarian I saw took down comprehensive information, gave my husband information on how to better handle the cat's misbehavior, and gave us a good prescription and a packet of information explaining the reasons for the behavior problems and making needed environmental changes. I was on the verge of finding a new home for the cat, but it's been a year since and she now gets along with both my husband and a new cat she was trying to integrate with, and no longer displays unpredictable and aggressive behavior. I'm very happy with the service I received there. more

rude and uncooperative. 11/2/2007

Fountain City Animal Hospital is a great organization as long as you let them do all the work, by that I mean charge you outragious prices like for instance a vaccination. They charge approximately $50 for the basic vaccine that you can go to the co-op and purchase for $5 to $7. If you dont like to give shots then that is fine let them do it. I enjoy the bond that I feel with my animal by taking more involvement in that process so early in our relationship. Well once you the FCAH know you are doing this they become rude and indignant. I understand that they will be missing out on a 200% markup on the shot and visit but we are not all made of money and should not be chastized for having to be a little frugal. I tried on several occasions to buy my heart worm pills from them but they refused to sell them to me because my dog is a Great Dane and he was growing so fast. Ever since March when I told them that I was going to do the vaccines myself they have been rude and uncooperative, so much so that I have since switched to another vet. Again today I had to call them and ask a routine simple question and I am switched to another person and bam rudeness and unprofessionalism. I would recommend Broadway Veterinary Clinic if you live in the Fountain City area. Pros: convenient location Cons: the whole operation more
