Good: We loved the animals, they were in our face much of the time! We were so close that I had to push two white tail deer away from my camera with my hands... several times I was too close to take a picture. It was an unbelievable place to visit, and photograph. Bad: We did not have enough time to photograph and visit all that we wanted to! Also, It would have been nice to be able to view the animals from an open air vehicle rather than our car.. Improvements: it is very hard to say anything bad about this place except that it is hard to view the cheetah's with out having a chain link fence in every photo... maybe a hill to drive upon so that you are looking down into the habitat area!. Other: I see that this is listed with the amusement parks. this is a drive thru wildlife sanctuary where you are within inches of many wild animals. Our 3 year old Grand daughter loved it even over the Dallas Zoo... it is pricey, but well worth the cost and we are making plans to go back now in August, 2009. Our first visit was October 2008. I have seen many white tail deer and even red stag, but never this close... to pet them is not unusual! This is a must see for the kids and for nature the photographers!. more

Fossil Rim is Fantastic! You drive through this huge animal preserve at your own pace. The different species have no qualms about coming up to your car and sticking their heads in through the window! Its amazing how close you can get to the Zebras, Giraffes, Llhamas....! The scenic overlook is really a nice 1/2 way point. I always bring my own lunch and eat on the cliff where there is always a cool breeze blowing! There is also a Gift shop here with many unusual Gifts made by Local Artisans. You can not turn around and "revisit" the drive....so take your time and really enjoy the drive. There is no time limit, so really use the 1/2 way point to stretch your legs, use the restroom and eat/drink something. more

Fossil Rim is a cool place to go. You drive through this huge park and feed the animals. There is all kinds of animals, all different kinds of deer, wildebeest's, rhinos, ostrich's, emu's, Giraffes,and zebras. At the top there is a place were you can get out of your car and walk around. There is a restaurant , petting zoo, Nature walk , gift shop and of course restrooms. more

fossil rim is a great palce to see all kinds of animals right from your car. they have endangered species as well as more common animals, but this isnt your regular zoo. you drive through the entire park and can feed most animals while youre at it. there is a half way point at the top of the hill where you can have lunch and shop at the gift shop and take a nature hike and all sorts of activities. kids LOVE this place and adults will enjoy it too. great place. cheap for the amount of entertainment and education you get. more

You couldn't ask for a better time. We had a blast seeing all the animals. Though we did have to pull over many times to let people go around that wanted to just zip through the park and not stop and enjoy the sites. The highlight was feeding the giraffes. Real fun for the kids and educational too more

This is a neat little place to take the kids. I have been here a few times. I live just right down the road so it is nice and convienant for me just to load them up and go right on down there. They have such great animals at this place and i think that the kids really enjoy it. It is nice and down to earth and the people that work here are just so nice. I love it and i will plan on continuing to take my kids here as well as other people if they want to go to. more

Fossil Rim is a wildlife center where you drive through the park and see all the different wild animals. You can purchase food where you can hand feed the animals. One of the best parts of the whole park is the giraffe area. The giraffes are loose and might even eat the food out of your hand. They have a stop halfway through the park with a restaurant, souvenir shop, and petting zoo. Admission can be expensive, so look for admission coupons in the local Entertainment Passbook. more
