Bad Food = Fortunato's 7/10/2010

Last night my wife and I ate at Fortunato's and ordered Shrimp coctail,Bruschetta and Calamari for appitizers. We also ordered medium rare Filet and medium rare Bragiole. The service was fair, the shrimp coctail was not devained, the Bruchetta was un-edible(tasted terrible),the Calamari had a Garlic Aoli sauce all over. It tasted and resembled mayonaise. The Filet and Brigiole were medium to well done. The mushroom risotto was over cooked and had the appearance and taste of a Maypo gruel. Overall experiance was SUB- PAR. We spent $133.00 including tip. and would have had a better meal at wendys. We have eaten at Cintro, Ricardos and La Boniche and enjoyed fabulous meals. We will not be back to Fortunato's. If Fortunatos keeps serving such awfull food they will be out of business, as they should be. Pros: Salad Cons: Everything else more

Fortunato's Italian Steak Restaurant 3/16/2008

My wife and I had dinner last night at Fortunato's Italian Steak Restaurant (Lowell, MA) and were terribly disappointed. Initially we were seated right next to the entry door - when the restaurant was 75% empty. Tables were not cleared, and the only table properly set up for guests was the one right next to the entrance door. As people came in, we practically had to move out of their way to let them in When we mentioned it to a waitress, she said that people weren't supposed to come in that way. Yet the door was open and the only alternative entrance brought people into a lounge vs. the restaurant. Eventually we were moved when my wife requested it for a second time. Cons: Food, Service, Uncleared Tables, Rushed or Incompetent Waitstaff more

Busy on weekends 4/19/2007

The place is packed on Friday and Saturday nights, so try a weekday. The ambiance is good, little cold so bring a sweater. Food's fantastic, the King Ribeye is HUGE! Their wine list is like 2 pages long , too, great time to try something new. The waitresses are also really friendly, but the service is a little delayed on weekends. Parking is horrible, better to park like a block away and walk. I was with a group in the function hall upstairs once, great place for a party, really private. Pros: Great food Cons: Kind of chilly in the dining room more

Great Italian in Lowell 11/12/2003

We went to Fortunato's having just moved to the area from Boston and being accustomed to eating in the North End approx. once a month. That said, I ate some of the best food I have ever put in my mouth at Fortunato's. The chef created lasagna of the day was Chicken, prosciutto and sage with alfredo sauce--FANTASTICO! The portions were filling and the service friendly and prompt. The bill was $60 for one app, two entrees, one dessert and two sodas--not bad at all! Summertime outside dining is on our list to try next! Pros: Food, Food, Food Cons: Parking can be tough more
