Finding the right child care center match can be as challenging as finding your perfect life mate-- but when you stumble upon the right one it's magic!\r \r Forever Young isn't about a shiny new facility and expensive toys, its' magic lies in the people. The top notch care givers have experience ranging from 6-28 years and their formula is simple they make the children feel loved, happy and secure. Having recently adopted a baby boy, that meant the world to me and my husband.\r \r When we first toured the facility we had to look past the older facade and focus on the warm faces and broad smiles greeting the babies. What amazed us was that the babies looked so content and the care givers didn't treat their work like a chore but really appeared to love the kids. This mattered more than any of the other items on my checklist but when you also throw in healthy meals provided each day, flexible hours and free diapers--we were sold.\r \r Months later our little tot is as happy as a clam and has deeply bonded with the folks at Forever Young. The proof is in the pudding; parents gave me glowing recommendations dating back for many years. I am so glad I chose to listen to their advice; good people are worth their weight in gold! more

FOREVER YOUNG IS AWESOME! 3/26/2009

I feel so lucky to have found Forever Young for my kids. My husband and I both work full-time, and when I was faced with finding childcare when our son was born, I was terrified. After visiting lots of daycare centers where the children seemed miserable, I visited Forever Young. I knew right away that I could take our son to FY and feel comfortable doing so because the children were content there. That was 3 and half years ago (October 2005), and we now have two children attending Forever Young, a toddler and a preschooler. Because of the care they receive at FY, my children are growing into polite, assertive, independent, and respectful young people. When we drop off our kids at FY in the morning, they are excited and happy to be there.\r \r The educarers really care about the kids, and many have been with Forever Young for 10+ years - two of the infant center educarers are going on 24 years each! The staff treat the children with respect and gentleness, and the children are encouraged to develop both physically and mentally at their own pace. I love that my kids eat healthy whole foods while at school because, let's face it, I don't always have the time to offer them whole foods at home. \r \r Forever Young is a parent cooperative, and relies upon parent support and participation (in addition to the full-time staff) to keep the center running smoothly. Because of this, the families who attend Forever Young become part of an extended ""family,"" which is an additional benefit for our family.\r \r Bottom line: Forever Young has been great for our family, and I highly recommend it! If you are looking for quality childcare in Sacramento, I encourage you to take a tour and pick up a brochure. more

Great Childcare - Daycare in Sacramento 3/4/2009

I've had my daughter going to Forever Young for over a year now. It's a great infant and toddler care center located at 13th & P in Sacramento. It's a non-profit co-op which means that as a parent you donate your time to help out. The result of this is that you really get to know the employees (if watching my child for 8+ hours a day, I want every opportunity to know them) as well as the other parents. Highlights:\r * Visit any time of day\r * Small number of kids\r * High ratio of Educarers to children\r * Uses the Magda Gerber Resource for Infant Educarers (RIE) philosophy, where children are nurtured and educated, not just ""watched"" for the day\r * Long term employees: some have been there more than 20 years.\r * No fake foods: they blend up veggies right there for the babies, no overly processed foods once your child is old enough to eat\r * Taught my baby how to take a bottle!!\r \r There is also a pre-school site located in Mid-town on J Street for kids over 2 years old. Anyhow, I like it and if you need child care, it's worth checking out. It's not your typical baby care ""mill"", they really care about the kids. Pros: Make baby food on-site, long term employees, good location with easy drop-off Cons: Different sites for Infants/Toddlers and Pre-schoolers more
