My 5 year old cat stopped eating. After 24hrs, I went to see Dr. Fischer. We did a bunch of tests, spent lots of $ and found nothing... She prescribed antibiotics and special food... We could afford anymore visits or tests and still didn't know what to do. \r Other Vets at this point would say, ""Good Luck"", but Dr. Fischer was extremely understanding. She gave us donated meds and called us 3x a day to give us advice and did so for 3-4 days. She called in the morning, late day and evening. She was unbelievable. She really cares. \r My cat lost a lot of weight but she seems like herself again. \r Thank you so much Dr. Fischer. You are an angel. more

I had been taking my 2 German Shepherds to this vet for about 2 yrs. I started to notice once I got my 2nd puppy that they charged a lot for individual doses and packs of heartgard and frontline. They advertised themselves as a discount clinic and they may be on office visits, but they make it up for what they charge in other services and the meds they prescribe. I had enough of them when I took my 10 year old shepherd in because her limp had gotten worse. I already knew she had elbow dysplasia.. They still took 2 xrays for $186 and then went on to prescribe the most expensive anti-inflammatory meds. I told them I couldn't afford $8 a pill, but they didn't seem to care. After doing some research and talking to the Germans Shep org I discovered there are many generic drugs that work just as well. I went to another vet, got a prescription and bought a 2 month supply for $25. My shepherd is doing great now, no thanks to them. This clinic is out to make money and does not care anything about your pets is my experience. There are many better choices out there more

Avoid this one! 10/25/2007

Over the last thirty years I've had many furry family members. Since we don't have kids they have all been our babies. As a result I've come into contact with many vets and veterinary hospitals over the years and we have not spared any expense for needed surgeries and our pets overall well being. For the most part, my experiences have been very positive. We are new to this area and recently had to make the very difficult decision to put our 14 1/2 year old cocker down. Unfortunately, as is generally the case, we needed to get to a vet on a Sunday. This hospital is open 7 days a week and they easily fit us in (maybe that should have been a clue). Though the vets at this clinic did a thorough job of diagnosing kidney disease, we found both the vets and their staff to be very impersonal and seemingly uncaring - except when it came to the price tag, which was grossly inflated. For example, the vet around the corner from us would have charged $250 for euthanasia and a private cremation (but he couldn't work us in until a day later), these folks charged $450 and we had to insist that our pet be given a shot to relax her before her final shot. When relaying my story to a couple of my co-workers, they recited similar experiences with this clinic. "Impersonal", "abrupt", and "uncaring" seem to be the consistent themes whether it was in relationship to a cat, a puppy, or an older dog. The three of us will not return to this clinic. Since my experience, other friends have recommended Lake Forest Veterinary in EDH on Francisco, EDH Veterinary on EDH Blvd., and another vet on Blue Ravine in Folsom. I've learned a valuable lesson. If veterinary clinic personnel do not take the time to demonstrate some connection with your pet (this is so unbelievable to me) - RUN, don't walk - to the nearest exit! more
