If you have not been here you really need to go. It's an experience. But you need to go very hungry as the food is non stop if you have your button ""on"". When you need a break you just turn your button ""off"". Save room, even the bread is amazing. Now after writing this I want to go, but sadly we're dieting. Ugg. So good! MUST GO! more

I really enjoyed trying this last week. I had never had Brazillian food before and it was great. The salad bar was also exceptional. All the staff were very attentive and friendly. I can't wait to go back again and try more of the varieties of meats they offered. more

Love this concept for meat lovers in Houston!!!!!! Took the brother here for his 40th birthday and he fell in love!!!!! Great salad bar too. But the reason you come here is for the awsome cuts of meats brought to your table by flipping over a green dot on your table. Turn it to the red side to stop service while you enjoy your grilled meats on your plate.\r A real man's restaurant!!!!!!!!! more

Best Brazillian Steakhouse in Houston! 10/30/2011

My Wife & I celebrated our 49th anniversary here on 10/29/11. First time visit. Everything was excellent. Service topnotch. Almost all the meats were great. The exception was the sirloin - a bit tough. Lamb chops the best I have ever eaten. Filet also very good. Servers were happy to get meats cooked to our soecs - rare, medium, whatever. Salad bar was maybe an A-. We have eaten at a number or other Houston Brazilian steakhouses. Won't try them again. Only comparable is the late lamented Rodizios. Expensive so we will reserve it for special events but will certainly be #1 on our special meal list! more

This place is amazing!!! 9/13/2011

A friend suggested Fogo de Chao to my husband and he made reservations for us on our anniversary. If you've never been to a Brazilian Steakhouse consider this something to add to your bucket list! They have valet parking and a classy appearance inside and out. I was suprised they did not have a better website. They have a lot to show off. Top notch buffet with a suprising amount of specialty items. Be prepared to pay $120-150 dinner for two, but it is well worth it! The waiters walk around with the cooked meat and offer you slices of different things from filet mignon to parmesian crusted pork ,which was really good! For desert I had creme brulee and my husband had chocolate molten, both were delicious and they wrote happy anniversary on the plates with rasberry sauce. : ) Great service! Everything looked great, tasted better. This place is amazing! more

Thinking of Eating There 8/28/2011

The reviews are completely out of date. Today (8/28/11) the newest review is dated 8/14/03. If you can't get more recent reviews, at least delete the ancient ones! Some poor folks might not see the dates & make an eating decision on obsolete info. more

First Time Fogo Experience 5/7/2010

Although the price is higher than I normally would spend to eat out, it was worth every cent. It's like the old saying goes, ""You get what you paid for"". Boy did I get what I paid for and more.\r \r We arrived with reservations and got seated immediatly, and when I went to sit down the waiter pulled out my chair for me (that's never happened to me before so I was impressed). Because it was our first time there he explained the process to us and provided us with coaster like cards that when flipped green means YES please bring me meat, when flipped red means NO thanks I'm satisfied for the moment. We were like kids in a candy store. \r \r The thing that impressed me the most aside from the friendly staff and the incedible selection of meat, was the fact that they made it a point to bring well done meat to our table for the folks who preferred it. Most of the meat is prepared medium to meduim well, so the fact that they especially made it and brought it out without anyone asking was great.\r \r I highly enjoyed my visit, and hope that I can go back soon. Pros: Amazing food accompanied by amazing service more

I love the food here! 1/4/2010

I have only been to Fogo four times, but have enjoyed each time immensely. The salad bar is excellent and the meats are juicy & well seasoned. If the portion that you are served is not enough, ask for more & the friendly staff is always happy to oblige. I have not experienced rude service to date. It is expensive but I believe it to be well worth it for special occasions. You definitely need to arrive very hungry though! I usually skip the salad bar until the end if there is still room. Pros: The beef is great & service is friendly. Cons: It is expensive! more

Expensive Golden Corral with small portions 12/15/2009

The ambiance was not that of a high end restaurant. It was loud and crowded. I didn't enjoy waiting in the long line for the salad. When I got to the meat course, some meats were okay and others not so much. The portions were very thin and small and the beef was all outer cut. I didn't find any of the meat to be outstanding. The 3 starches they served as sides were good. The service was a bit slow so I spent quite a bit of time waiting for my next small cut of meat. I guess it's better for them that way since you get full faster the slower you eat. The tres leches, which I paid extra for, was still frozen in the middle.\r I have eaten at most of Houston's finer restaurants and do not in any way mind paying for a great meal but this is not one of them. What I paid for what I received was clearly off balance. I have NEVER complained about a restaurant before but I actually left Fogo de Chao a lilttle angry. I will not ever go back. I would recommend you spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Pros: Nice waitstaff Cons: Food was just so so more

a very nice place 9/14/2009

my boyfriend and i celebrated my birthday here on 9/11 we were very pleased with the service and the employess were all kind. we will remember this for a long time. Pros: one of the best restaurants in houston Cons: none. more

Rude staff 5/12/2009

Terrible service. Would expect more for a $40 lunch. Very rude staff. I do not recommend at all. I do not plan on returning. Worst dining experience ever. more

What a joke..!! Horrible!! 4/8/2009

What a joke..!! Horrible!! This is a way over priced glorified assembly line cafeteria. The food was cold...the restaurant was freezing...Ordered a bottle of wine went to the weak salad bar -- It was sitting on our table -- minus the waiter. lol. The food is what I suspect you would find at the Sizzler or Furrs or some other cafeteria minus the gauchos walking around with cold beef on their skewers. Never again...! My suggestion..Go somewhere else or save your money people. EOF more

Not my style but probably good for others 3/3/2009

I recently went to Fogo de Chao for the first time. I have always heard great things about the restaurant. While, I'm glad that I went and got to experience the service and food they provided, for me it was not worth it. First, I'm not a huge red meat eater. Secondly, I can't pack that much food away making the experience kind of costly. The salad bar is nice but not what I expected. Bread, cheeses, and marinated veggies are readily available. As far as the meat, I found the tastiest one was the picahna (I believe they stated this was their house specialty or a popular one). I had never had lamb before and that too was tasty. As for the other meats I didn't think they had very much flavor. The service however was impecable. There are so many attentive waiters. As I stated before, this was my first visit and they explained how the meat service worked (red and green sided card) but even when our cards were turned to red (stop meat service) if the server saw us eye something they would offer it to us. We paid over $200 at lunch for 3 people, however we each had our meal, a glass of wine, a dessert, plus a 25% tip. Pros: Service Cons: Can be costly more

AWESOME!!!! EVERYTHING HERE IS THE DEFENITION OF PERFECTION!!!!!! 3/1/2009

This restaurant is amazing.....I have been there about 33 or 35 i forgot... Well anywayz this restaurant hes the best service and the best food. It is so romantic and all you can eat! This is possibly the best restaurant in the world and i recommend it to all people. It is a little pricey, but awesome! It is 49.95 per person and half if you are 12 years or younger. EnJoy!! O yes and proven fact *By me ^^* if anyone gives this place 3 stars OR LESS they have never been there or are a competing restaurant! So watch out for those lairs! Pros: The food is awesome and service is Key! Cons: Nothing whatsoever! more

FOOD WAS GREAT AND THE SERVICE WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! 2/16/2009

My boyfriend wanted to celebrate Valentine's Day early so he surprised me with a lunch date at Fogo De Chao's. This was our first time visiting the restaurant. What impressed us immediately was our waiter letting us know that he really enjoyed his job. This is huge to us because we have been in restaurants where we have experienced wait staff that did not enjoy their jobs and we are all about good customer service. After a short time there, our waiter seemed to be so insync with my boyfriend and I that he would answer questions and assist us with items before we even asked. I use lemon in my water so when I asked for more water instead of bringing me lemons ,he brought us a small pitcher of fresh lemon juice. Everytime my boyfriend or I left the table he would pull our chair out for us by the time we got back. I could go on and on about the service but I must mentioned the delicious food. The salad bar was one of the best I've seen in the city. Everything you can imagine is on it and it comes with the meal. Side items and bread are also included with your meat selections. They really cater to all individuals and their tastes. My boyfriend prefers medium rare and I prefer medium ,and they were able to satisy us both because the meat they carved for us was brought to our table in different cooking stages. We are both not heavy red meat eaters so when the waiter asked us about dessert we shook our heads no immediately. He went on to explain a dessert to us that helps aid in digestion. it was a papaya and vanilla ice cream dessert and it was delicious .... All in All the experience was wonderful and we look forward to our next visit. Pros: CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE, CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Cons: They are only open for dinner on the weekends more

Awesome Food & Service!!! AAA+++ 1/10/2009

We had a 6pm reservation, but arrived about 5:45 and got seated right away in a nice little romantic corner spot. The salad bar could have been a meal in itself. I tried several new dishes for the bar and found that everything was scrumptious. I'm not a big eater, so I was a little nervous about this experience. However, that was not an issue. The superb meats were out-of-this-world GREAT!!! I highly recommend the house specialty meat; it will leave your taste buds craving for more, even if you are already stuffed. We received great service from everyone, as well. The parmesan crusted pork is also terrific. I can't wait to go back! Pros: Food, Service, Salad Bar Cons: Price more
