Amazing Arrangements 2/9/2012

I just bought flowers from this very cute boutique style flower shop and I loved the amazing arrangement they made for me. The selection of flowers where wonderful and fresh, quality is always something I look for when buying flowers. They also had really cute moss covered purses with succulents that I had to buy two of -one for me and one for my friend. The gal helping me was very sweet and I loved the way she wrapped up my arrangement. more

WORST SERVICE 4/17/2011

Everything is true about these past reviews. I have lived near this place since they have opened. I have only ever seen them have customers when it’s a holiday. I walk my dog daily right by the place, so I know how often people even stop by. I decided to give this place a try for my wedding. Well its been 2 weeks, no estimate as promised. Was so nice when I first met them, but after I called about my flowers, they have been rude and demeaning. They will never answer the phone and have no excuse. They said hire a wedding planner, what is that going to do? All they need to do is provide paying clients with their flowers and follow the contract. more

rude, unprofessional, the worst! 1/26/2011

The problem with the owner is that she judges without giving clients a chance. If you aren’t having a wedding at the Ritz Carlton, she will treat you like a 2nd class citizen. We know that Richelle is not a wedding planner however we do expect her to be polite & have some costumer service skills. She’s unprofessional & uneducated. Reading at her responses makes me feel relief that I took my business somewhere else\r I'm having a small wedding and no bridal party, met Richelle on a Saturday and she told me that she was going to have a quote ready for me by Monday. It took 3 polite phone calls and 2 weeks after we met to finally get a quote. Her price was higher that what my friends had paid for similar services but since I had already taken her time I decided to keep her and pay the extra $200.00. Then I called her and left her several messages telling her that I wanted to give my deposit but she never returned my calls. I gave her the benefit of the doubt so I e-mail her my credit card information and politely asked her to please charge my card but once again I was ignore. I called her one more time and I finally got a hold of her. I told her that I wanted her to charge my deposit and that I also wanted to upgrade my package and add more items. Before I finish telling her what I need it, she interrupted me and told me that I didn’t need to call her every time I change my mind to just pay my deposit and call her 1 month before the wedding for any changes. Her excuse for not returning my calls was that she was a very busy person. WOW, I am so easy going, and not a bridezilla at all, and all my calls where to ask her to please charge my card. She still didn’t charge my card. It was clear that she didn’t want to waste her time with me. My $600.00 budget for a 50 guest wedding was not worth her time. I was never rude, demanding or anything of that nature, she really didn’t have a reason to treat me that way. I work for costumer service and I have a high level of education so I always treat people with respect. I ended up going to “A pocket full of petals” in Huntington Beach and had a wonderful experience. Anne the owner is great, polite, and gave me a much better deal.\r more

Would not recommend for future business 11/11/2010

I decided to use Richelle for our wedding after looking through her photos of other events b/c everything looked beautiful and just what we were looking for. The one thing I was not worried about that day was the flowers but unfortunately that was the only thing that went wrong. I was not the bride that had unrealistic expectations or went crazy over things but for the money that you're spending I was extremely disappointed. The boys boutenieres fell off b/c she used a huge single rose instead of 2 small ones of which were noted in the contract. We were able to finally get one on the groom for photos but the rest of the groomsmen had to go w/out. I also specifically went over the color of flowers that I wanted (pink) b/c I didn't want peach/coral ones and she assured me that pink was her favorite color and not to worry and still the flowers for the bridesmaids were coral pink which I specifically said please don't use peach colored flowers. The center pieces were the most disappointing and nothing like her picture in the book and come to find out she sent her assitant to do them b/c she booked another wedding and as she mentioned when I confronted her about the half executed centerpieces that money was tight and the other wedding was needed. I don't mind that she had another event but make sure that the people representing your work know how to execute it especially since it was your picture of what we were doing not something I dreamed up in my head that you were trying to produce. I was embarrassed that our guests would think I purposefully picked the flowers out b/c everything looked that bad and slightly dead. We rec'd a nominal reimbursement but I feel bad b/c my mother in law spent a lot of money on something that turned out to be the worst part of our wedding. I would not recommend her for another event unfortunately and I never thought I would say that considering I had such a pleasant experience w/ her prior to the wedding. more

Very Unprofessional and Over-priced! 12/2/2008

I decided to sign a contract with this florist for my wedding flowers based on first impressions. She was not the best offer I got financially speaking, but she agreed to meet with me on a Saturday morning (important for a working bride) and seemed very attentive. After I signed the contract and sent my deposits, the professionalism ended. She made no attempts to contact me throughout the months before my wedding. When I emailed her and asked to meet 3 weeks before the big day, she let me know she would not make time to meet with me on weekends, and that it was too late to make changes to my order as she had already ordered my flowers and the order could not be changed. I was upset, as I hadn't spoke with her in months and wanted to make minor changes to how things were arranged at the reception. This caused a lot of stress with my wedding so close, and adding to it was the fact that this florist is not prompt at returning emails and is often not available when calling her shop. I made the decision to find a new florist only 3 weeks before my wedding, giving up my $500 deposit with the flower girl. I'm glad I did, I found a florist who provided me with everything at a FRACTION of the cost, and I ended up saving money despite the lost deposit. This new florist informed me that flower destributors are very willing to make changes to orders up to one week prior to the event date, CONTRARY to what the flower girl told me 3 1/2 weeks before mine. The icing on the cake was when I had to threaten the Flower Girl with a law suit 1 1/2 months after my wedding in order to get my $300 vase deposit back after she repeatedly lied to me about having sent it. Please consider this before signing with this florist. She caused me much stress not only right before my wedding but afterwards also. There are many other PROFESSIONAL florists out there to chose from.\r PS-Please note that one of the two 5-star ratings on this site came from Richelle, the Flower Girl herself... Pros: Can't think of any. Cons: Over-priced, very unprofessional, slow to respond to emails/calls, poor flower quality. more

Response to the 12/2/08 review 4/24/2008

I manage the shop for The Flower Girl in Dana Point. Richelle tries her best to communicate with her brides. She is NOT a wedding coordinator she is a florist. During the wedding season March- November we are booked almost every weekend with weddings and it is impossible to meet with a bride on the weekends. We try our best to accomodate. Unfortunately the bride who posted a review on 12/2 was not accurate. Planning a wedding is a big job. We recommend you hire a wedding coordinator to help you will all the details along the way. It will be money well spent.\r \r We take pride in what we do and have done for the past eight years and create beautiful weddings at a fair price, with a lot of happy customers/brides to prove it. more

Pretentious attitude-avoid if cost conscience 3/6/2008

I drove 45 minutes to Dana Point to meet with Richelle Davidson, who was very nice. We spoke about what I liked and some general ideas for the bouquets and personal flowers for my wedding in June. She emailed me an estimate and I emailed her back that it was higher than my budget. I then told her my budget and asked how we could work within it. She wrote me back ""your budget is not realistic""; ""I will not be able to help you."" I am very disappointed at her lack of willingness to work within a budget and I think her attitude is very pretentious. Brides are all on a budget and to not ask for the budget in the initial meeting was her error. I cannot believe a vendor would turn away a bride because she does not have as much to spend as they would like. I was simply asking for assistance in removing or downgrading items and she was not willing to do this. The meeting with her and drive was a complete waste of my time. I am flabbergasted at not being worth her time. Simply because of this fact I would advise any cost conscience bride to avoid using this florist. more
