This Place iS a joke BEWARE! 1/26/2012

I am very dissatisfied with the care that I received here on 2 occasions. The first time I saw DR. Jungreis who took x-rays and ordered a MRI of the neck and brain. He prescribed 2 medications that had no effect on my pain at all. I then make another appointment and am seen by Dr. Vinarsky who barely looked over the MRI results I brought in and ordered that I get oceipital nerve blocks. I like anyone want to look into this. She also refers me out to someone else and orders an anti inflammatory and tremodal for my pain. I have severe migraines and lower neck pain in which I have treated with migraine meds. with no results along with bottles of ibuprofen and muscle relaxers. When I realized I had already taken the Tremadol I told her and she said just take the anti inflammatory. So 90 dollars later and no telling how much my insurance was charged I am in the same painful, depressing state I was in before coming here. This place is a real joke and for no reason should I be sent away with nothing to help ease the pain of my migraines. I am not sure how far I can take this but I will be reporting to every bureau that I can. I will say for Dr. Jungreis that I was new patient and he did not have any direction to go with me. As for the lady who had MRI papers in her hand and acted as though my medical issue was nothing leaving me yet again feeling hopeless about some relief of a deliberating condition needs to be schooled on how to treat patients correctly. I will not be coming back here and would never suggest this place to anyone. I was told my one doctor the migraines were because of my neck and the lady told me they were not, Wish I knew some way to get my co- pay back!!!!!! more

This doctor deserves to have his license suspended 11/22/2011

Beware of Dr. Jungreis. He will see you once and then will pass you off to one of his staff. Also, he has no problem with arbitrarily cutting you off from medication, even if it works well for you. This doctor has no caring or compassion and is only looking to make as much money as possible. He deserves to have his license revoked for malpractice. Find a caring pain management physician, which this doctor is anything but. more

This place will rip you off!!!!! 7/28/2011

I have never been so ripped off in my life.I don't get a confortable feeling when I am there. They pump you full of pills and send you on your way. They don't follow up on anything phone calls, perscriptions, therapy. All they want is you to come in every month so they can get your money. They tell you you are covered on insurance and take you copay then you find out they chaged you for a $1000.00 urine test. Unbelievable...that's what gives heathcare a bad name.\r more

The nicest, most caring doctors and nurses I've ever had ! 6/27/2011

Not only were the phone staff great (and moved u my appt after I expressed unhappiness it was taking so long to get one), but the office staff, and nurse who took my history, blood pressure, etc., was also great, and thenI saw Dr. Patel! Don't care what UNHAPPY says, he's the absolutely nicest, most caring doctor I ever had, which also includes my last spinal surgeon Dr. Geoffrey Stewart, who was pretty awesome (fixed my spine Dr. Broom screwed up by leaving it in two halves) discounted my medicare co-pay, until they informed him thi9s year that was illegal [oh well] and always saw me personally, and had great PA's too)... but Dr. Patel was very caring ... he only reviewed the last few of my records (they are VERY extensive) and didn't care that my last doctor had dismissed me for no good reason .. (I tried detox in a hospital with oxycodone... he knew this put it in my records... wrote me a new prescription ; and then drug tested me and a week later sent me a letter discharging me).Dr. Patel's comment ""That's weird ... well, I believe you have real pain ... and we also drug test periodically, so ... let's see what we can do for you."" Do you know, UNHAPPY, how good it feels to have a doctor tell you he believes you have REAL PAIN? After the last one said you probably just have phantom pain? (Dr. Placier, in case anyone was thinking of going there ... weird, he shares an office with my surgeon, and they couldn't be more different... my Mom read his records of me and was furious at the things he wrote, the inaccuracies, and the misquotes, and the errors, not to mention the discharge for no reason.) Let me tell you, it's such a relief to have a doctor believe you and WANT to HELP you, I can't describe. He then examined me thoroughly, and recommended a three-series of steroid injections, because he said, the iliac joint (at the top of the hip bone/pelvis often gets inflamed with back surgery (and I had three, plus three treatment for osteomyelitis (bone infection) ... and no one had EVER even suggested that before. They give you an option of sedated or not, and I chose sedated and it didn't hurt a bit, and after two injection I felt juch better and after three, I can't even describe how much better I feel maybe 70-80 percent better... with my meds, which by the way are much less than Placier had me on... my pain level is usually a 2-3, and it was never less than a 5-6 at best before, with fr5equesnt flares to 8-10, sending me to the hospital a lot for pain and vomiting from the pain. Unfortunately, Dr. Placer is gone now, he was a fellow, but last time I saw a PA named Denize, who was equally nice and kind and understanding and helpful. I love this place... except for the REALLY UNCOMFORTABLE chairs in all the waiting areas. But I must say they rarely keep you waiting very long at all... ten, maybe 15 minuts, but usually far less. more

Also known as National Pain Institute 1/20/2011

My Appointment was with Dr Patel In October for a Pain in my Arm which had been diagnosed as a Pinched nerve in the neck and verified with MRI's and X-Rays.\r The First mistake came when I signed in with the nurse and answered the usual questions and gave a urine sample. While talking to the Dr. The results of a sample were delivered to him and he immediately began questioning me about my drug use. I assured that the only drugs I had EVER taken had been prescribed ... After extensive questioning, the nurse returned with another urine result. This time it was mine and the other had been from someone else.\r The Dr decided he knew more than the others and attributed the pain to a rotator cup injury which had been ruled out by my Primary physician.\r He agreed to give me a shot in the shoulder to relieve the pain.\r When I arrived for the shot, the nurse instructed me to sit on the table, remove my shirt and unbutton my pants. When ask why the pants for a shot in the shoulder, she remarked ""Oh! I thought it was in the back""\r On the follow up for the injection, Dr. Patel again examined me for rotator cup problems.\r In the process of twisting and pulling, he managed to BREAK the Biceps Tendon!!!!!\r I was told to go home and apply cold packs if it hurt.\r THIS WAS MY FINAL VISIT!!!!! more

A GREAT PAIN DOCTOR 3/20/2009

I was in the Marine Corps for ten years I was injured in combat. After I got out I tried the V.A. But they Were no help at all. All they wanted me to do was keep on with the physical therapy after a year of that I went to see Doctor Jungreis. That was the best thing I have done for my pain problems. I spent hours with him and we came up with a plan that really worked. I had Facett injections and and a new type of medication. I can run and I can tie my boots on my own now. No more waking up in the middle of the night in agony and not being able to get out of bed in the AM. If you are in constant pain Please go see him. In the Marine corps we have a saying it is SEMPER-FIDELIS. It means always faithfull. And that is what Dr. Jungreis is.\r Ssgt Hersey S.M. \r U.S.M.C. Pros: NO MORE PAIN Cons: NOT GOING TO SEE HIM. more

Worst Pain Management physician in Central Florida 2/1/2009

Worst Pain Management physician in Central Florida.\r He is looks down on people and is narcissitant and arrogant.\r \r He only wants to take people with insurance so he can make money off of them.\r \r He used to take self pay patients but figured out he could not make money offf of them unless he added tests that were not needed like Pulmonary Function Tests and EKGs. \r \r As you are able to see he was scamming these poor people without the money to pay for these extra tests that he all of a sudden added to his office visit.\r \r What else is there to say, nothing, anyone can see he was taking advange of his self pay patients. more

The Physicians, P.A.s, and the entire staff are very caring and professional. If you or a loved one are suffering from chronic pain, call the National Pain Institute in Winter Park immediately. 9/11/2008

After a severe automobile accident in 1994 and a number of spinal surgeries over the years I suffer like many others from chronic back and neck pain. At the age of 25 my life was changed dramatically. \r In 2001, after suffering for 7 years with chronic spinal pain, my father called me from Orlando and told me that he had found Dr. Jungreis at The National Pain Institute. \r During my initial evaluation, Dr. Jungreis spent 2 hours with me, he was genuinely interested in helping me to get my life back. I also met Alicia during my first visit. She is a P.A. who was extremely thorough and caring. It was very impressed and needless to say, I have been a patient ever since. My father and 2 of my Aunts have been patients at the National Pain Institute as well. \r The thing that impresses me the most at The National Pain Institute is the caring and kind attitude of the staff. I can tell when my pain level goes back down after a bad spell the Dr.s and P.A.'s are genuinely happy. The receptionists, office staff and nurses are very kind as well. They truly care.\r The National Pain Institute is a comprehensive practice that offers everything from Physical Therapy to a Pain Psychologist, Cortisone Injections, IV Therapy, Hormonal injections, rhizotomies, as well as many other services. If you suffer from chronic pain you can definitely understand the importance of this comprehensive approach to pain management. Dr. Jungreis is constantly adding new, state of the art equipment and treatments to help his patients. I would recommend the National Pain Institute to anyone who is suffering and needs quality care. Over the years I have met many patients at The National Pain Institute and more than I can count have told me they don't know what they would without Dr. ""J"". Pros: Everything Cons: Nothing more

Excellent Pain Management Physician and Facility. 8/14/2008

I just started as a new patient of Dr. Jungreis the Co-Founder and Owner of the Facility and I am very impressed. The Visit was for a second opinion and to see if this could be a good patient and Doctor relationship. I have only been for a couple of visits, but I was impressed enough to recommend a close family member. \r If you are in Pain I would suggest you ask your primary Physician for a referral. I am still new, but not easily impressed as a Registered Nurse I am very weary of all Physicians. This one truly seems to care and demands the same of his staff. I will keep you posted as time goes by...................\r But if you have been in chronic pain and do not have a Physician this would be a great place to start, If you have a Medtronic Intrathecal Morphine Pump or need a trial for one start here, having problems with a pump go for a second opinion here, Whatever your case if you are in Chronic pain, are not getting any help check it out...... Pros: Large area for dropping off and picking up patients. Office wait time is short and staff friendly... Cons: Parking can be hard to find but wait time is very short. more
