I hired them to refinish floors, and I had concerns about neatness because of the previous company. They took great attention to keeping the house tidy and clean, and did follow up before to make sure everything was done to my satisfaction before accepting money. We are now using them to do some additional work in our home, we're quite pleased with them. more

The way I measure things is by if the people come when they say they will, do what they say they're going to do, and come back if necessary to fix the problem. I didn't have any complaints about Floor Coverings International, and they did it all. It was extremely pleasing. more

Floor Coverings International was not my first choice. I had several people come out beforehand, and they were all horrible. Compared to them, Floor Coverings International was wonderful. They were understanding of what I needed done. I had a unique thing going on with my staircase, and they were able to grasp what I needed done. Every single person from Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County, NJ was great! Truly wonderful to work with. From Mike, to his wife to the man who came to my house to drop off samples. Everything with them was terrific. They were all so ridiculously accommodating and a real pleasure to work with. My caveat for giving my total experience a 4 was because of the installers. I found them a little difficult to work with, so I was left disappointed with that part of my experience. I know they aren't directly related to Floor Coverings, however they are the people they contract with, so they are connected. They kept pushing back my appointment, until finally they came out at 3pm. They weren't going to get everything done that day, which wouldn't have worked for me. They were working on our stairs and family room, and were going to leave it with the carpet up and tacks exposed. It was on a Wednesday, and they told me they couldn't come back out until Saturday. I have 5 dogs, who run up and down the stairs and stay in the family room during the day, there was no way that could work for us! I was less than pleased with that plan. Thankfully, they ended up staying until 10pm that night to finish. In my opinion, the subcontractors were the only downside to this. Everyone from Floor Coverings went out of their way to accommodate our needs, and were truly a pleasure to be around. Lisa & Jack more

Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County (Freehold) is exceptional. While working for a law firm for over 25 years, I have sued many contractors for various issues. So, I can honestly state that my dealings with this company, Mike Killen and his installers was the most pleasurable experience I have ever encountered. They are punctual (rare in this day and age). They do not make false statements or mislead (rare in this day and age). They provide detailed information while taking as much times as necessary to explain the product and installation. They order and install incredibly quick (rare in this day and age, especially shortly after a major hurricane). The finished product was so much more than I ever imagined. I highly recommend this company to residential and commercial consumers. I just cannot say enough about the quality of their workmanship. Excellent does not do them justice, they are beyond that! My only downside is that there was an issue with the laminate floor and it took me a while to reach them. They were really good about addressing it, but I almost couldn't find them, though that was possibly my fault. They were really quick when they did the job. They were careful with the stuff in my house, and they covered everything. They were also very personable. The foreman at the time, his name was Billy, was very nice and vary understanding. He was great. They sent a good crew, as well. They are just a really good company. more

I got the flooring for my home at Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County and had them install it. They installed laminate flooring throughout the house and carpet in the bedrooms. I thought their own people would do the installation but they sent out subcontractors. They did fine except for the laminate in the main floor of the house. They were supposed to leave half an inch of space on the edges and in some areas they left double that. The gap was too large and it just created more work for me. RESPONSE FROM Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County, NJ: Hi Michael - Thanks for your feedback - we appreciate it. I'd like to take a moment to address your two points. First, the common practice in the industry is for flooring businesses to utilize contractors. To that point, we spent a significant amount of time vetting our sub-contractors - and we use them over and over again because they provide great results. Second, in terms of the gaps along the edges of your flooring, the common practice is to leave at least half of an inch there for molding to be put in. We usually put in the molding ourselves, so you'd be left with no gap at the end of our job. However, because you requested to install fill the molding on your own, we left the gap for you. As a side note, at least half an inch is left for laminate flooring because the flooring will expand and contract. Once again, thanks for providing your feedback. The experience with Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County, NJ was fine, it was just the color we picked. They seemed to be reputable, and have pretty good recommendations. Some of the seams don't look perfect, but they're not highly noticeable. more

They explained exactly what they were going to do, and they did the appropriate work and did it well. If any follow-ups were needed, they did them. There were no hidden charges. You could not ask for more honest brokers. They charged what they charged, we paid what we paid, and they did the work. more

We had a problem on our kitchen floor. It was a little like ocean waves. The original contractor really messed things up when they installed the tile floor. The guy from Floor Coverings International of Monmouth County New Jersey used about three bags of concrete to level the floor. Then he laid the new tile down. The gentleman went way beyond his normal duties to make things right. I can't ever complain about it. more
