Wonderful Anniversary Dinner 1/14/2012

My wife and I had a wonderful experience here. From the moment we walked in the door they knew it was our Anniversary from our reservation and were wishing us ""Happy Anniversary"". Service was very friendly and allowed us to take our time with our meal, didn't make us feel like we were taking up a table. Helped us sample wine, made recommendations on meals. My wife ordered the Peppercorn Steak, I ordered the Bone-In Prime Ribeye. Both were phenomenal. At one point the Cocktail Waiter knocked over our bottle of wine on one of the empty chairs, luckily none of it got on either of us or my wife's purse. Then after that they were all hugely apologetic, opened a new bottle of wine for us so now we had two practically full bottles of wine. We finished without any room for dessert and they sent us home with a comp. huge piece of chocolate cake along with the rest of our wine, and an Anniversary card signed by the staff, AND they Comped all our wine ($50 bucks for each bottle!). It was truly the best restaurant experience we've ever had. Thank you fleming's for making our night memorable. more

Disappointing Experience 5/11/2011

I ordered the SEARED NEW BEDFORD SCALLOPS° meyer lemon-honey glaze, baby carrots, green beans, asparagus; however, what I received appeared to be blackened scallops with way too much salty, cajun seasoning. I should have -- and wish I had -- sent it back, but because of the time and the fact that I was dining with a group I did not. I'm wondering why this item was not served as described on the menu? The chocolate lava cake was too bitter. The cosmopolitan was mediocre. This was a disappointing experience for the price that was paid. more

Worst Expericence Ever 2/12/2011

Terrible experience. Had reservation at 7pm last night, 4 people. Server (Amy) was extremely annoying asking same questions over and over and pouring wine in our glasses up to the top of the glass (who does that??)\r Steaks took 1:30 hs to be served, after I complained to the manager. Finally, they were so salty we couldn't finished them. They noticed our frustration, brought complimentary dessert, and guess what? They included that on the check!!!! Wine was good, I guess they couldn't mess that up!! For 100 bucks/head, don't even think on wasting your money here!!! more

Great Private Dining Room 10/27/2009

We just recently had a social gathering in their private room and it was just perfect. The room had a elegant, contemporary feel. It felt so warm and welcoming. We will definitely do another event here. I can't wait to eat in the main dining room on a date. Pros: Service Excellent, Awesome Wine List Cons: Sometimes hard to get into more

Very good food and no complaints about service 10/29/2008

Have been here twice now - once with a large group of friends (12 or so) and once on a date. Service was very professional and good in both visits. And the food was very good to excellent on both visits as well. Pros: Valet parking, quaint bar, above-par service Cons: Pricey more

Up and Down/Love-Hate 10/20/2008

Nothing worse than a restaurant that tantalizes you at times with great food and great service and then turns right around and hits rock bottom the next time you are there. That is Flemings in a nutshell. When the food and service is on (about 1/4 of the time) the place is memorable, when all has gone to hell and a handbasket (about 3/4 of the time) you want to demand a refund on the outrageous price you just paid for mediocrity. Not sure how many GM's they've gone through but they need to fire whoever is running the place now. A great restaurant is consistent, not just occasionally on the mark. Pros: Can be great Cons: Most of the time is not more

The Best Steak I've ever tasted! 3/11/2008

I've been to all the high end steakhouses here in St. Louis and around the country, and, bar-none, the strip steak at Fleming's is the best cut of beef I've ever had. It had just the right amount of marbling and that velvety texture that a strip is supposed to have but so rarely does. Also try the Fleming's Potatoes-they're so much more than just au gratin-they've got a little jalepeno pepper in there that kicks it up without being overly spicy.\r \r They've got an excellent wine list that is well organized and has something for everyone. Try the Pallazzo Proprietary Red. If you can't decide what you want ask for George--trust me, his recommendations have always been spot on.\r \r The service is professional. They have that knack for knowing if its a romantic dinner or business client dinner and you want them to just do their job and stay out of the way. But on the flipside they are always friendly and fun. Pros: Fantastic Steaks, Professional Service, Wine list with something for everyone Cons: Not open for lunch so I can eat there twice in the same day! more

Awesome steaks, great atmosphere, exceptional service 1/1/2008

My Husband and I were at Fleming's last night for New Years Eve Dinner before we went to a party, and the dinner was absolutely terrific. I had Their Colossal Lobster Tail, I think the waitress said it was 18 ounces, and it came with a creamy lemon butter sauce that complimented it very well. While my husband had the Bone-in Ribeye. The steak was cooked to order. We also had generous side portions of their signature Fleming's potatoes and Creamed Spinach. Both were very very good. They also have a very extensive wine list which can be overwhelming at first, but our waitress was very helpful in helping us select. the perfect wines to compliment our meals. We then finished our meal with the Lava Cake. Oh my god...you have to get the Lava cake...the best dessert I've ever had. Needless to say we will be back and we will tell all our friends. Pros: service, food, ambience, valet parking Cons: a little noisy more

Flemings Restaurant St. Louis MO 12/22/2007

Dec 21 I had a terrible fillet! How can one be cooked ""med"" with not a trace of moisture left in the meat. Dry and not at all tasty. I think the chef needs a few lessons about the Flemings way of cooking and resting the meat... The snow peas were soggy pieces of overcooked vegetable.\r The restaurant itself is noisy as can be...\r On the plus side we were seated as soon as we arrived.\r I have been to Flemings in San Diego and it is a fabulous restaurant with perfection everywhere...don't know how this location failed so miserably. Pros: Valet parking available Cons: The worst steak I have ever had at a supposedly high rated restaurant. more

Very disappointing 12/13/2007

We got a Saturday evening reservation for 8:45. They had been running behind all evening & everyone in the lobby with us with reservations waited at least an hour to be seated. They claimed they did call one party & ask them to come in an hour later than their reservation but they did not call the rest of us.\r The parties that complained the loudest got free drinks. The rest of us that waited with reservations were ignored.\r We had a pleasant waiter but he never brought our appetizer. The food was mediocre.\r Bad experience for too high a price.\r Their uncaring attitude has turned me off. Cons: poor customer service more

Spend your money elsewhere! 8/6/2007

What a very pricey, disappointing meal. You can get a better cut of filet at Outback at a third of the price. We now know why the place was empty on a Friday night! Pros: Good wine list, good service Cons: $$$$, noisey kitchen, empty dining room more

Superb Steaks. Probably St. Louis's Finest Steakhouse. Great for Romantic Dinner, Business or Friends 6/29/2006

This is a fine steakhouse that does it right! Great food, great wine list, a top-shelf bar and very good service. The great thing about Flemings is that you can make it a romantic dinner or a business dinner, a group of friends or a family gathering... It works great for all of these. Bring your gold Amex card, however, it's not cheap. But for the fine night out to dine in St. Louis--Flemings is well worth it! Superb filet and some great seafood... also consider the wine flights. Location is great as is the ambiance. It's TOPS in St. Louis. Pros: Great Steaks, Great Location, Superb warm ambiance Cons: Not cheap, busy, bar gets really crowded on weekends. NO KIDS!!! for sure! more

Fleming's Not Always ""Pricey"" 6/6/2005

Fleming's is often accused of being pricey, but you can either pick more carefully from the ala carte menu for a smaller bill, drink somewhere else before dinner, or come on Sundays, when each restaurant has a Prime Prime Rib Dinner (repetition intended), with large prime rib cut, side dish, salad and dessert for only $24.95. That, is value! Pros: Incredible Food, Unequalled Service, All Non-Smoking Bldg. Cons: Low Light/hard to see, open dining area loud, MUST have reservation more
