mixed feelings 11/28/2010

When we first moved to St. Louis friends told us about the Loop and Fitz's. I think it is an interesting atmosphere. We have been there several times now. Service is good, not amazing but good enough. Our friend usually asks to substitute fries with a vegetable weird enough once we were told this is not possible. That day everything hit on us. we had to return her food because all her meat (i believe it was beef tips? ) was inedible, almost spoiled. All other food was good. i like their Parmesan chicken a lot. That's the only thing i am eating there now. All together it is ok. Food quality is sadly not constant quality as well as the guest service. more

Memorable Toasted Ravioli! 10/2/2006

First visit to Fitz's was in Kansas City when they still had one there. Ran across the one in St. Louis by accident...what a nice surprise. Good portions, lots of variety, root beer is top notch...try all the flavors though, they're all good. Have a teenager and an under 10 kiddlin, they both liked the place as well...in fact we came back two days later to try some other menu items that we didn't get the first time...the toasted ravioli is St. Louis specialty! Fun loop exsperience 8/20/2006

A fun casual place to go in the loop. Good burgers and floats. Stay away from the breaded chicken sandwich with the brushetta like topping. Service is usually pretty good but goes down sometimes when they get busy on the weekends. more

I was disappointed 8/17/2006

We had friends from out of town stop in St Louis for dinner... I picked Fitz's because it was supposed to family friendly (our friends have a very well behaved 2 year old) and it was in the Loop. Our server was horrible and the food wasn't great (my food was cold... it had obviously been sitting out for awhile--I guess while they finished cooking our tables food). She rolled her eyes at tables, our root beer was hot (the mugs felt like they had just been pulled from the dishwasher)--when we mentioned that the root beer was really warm our server actually (very sarcastically) said, ""What do you want me to do about it?"" We were definitely treated like we were an annoyance. She was only nice when it came time for us to pay the bill and then she acted like our best friend. I was embarrassed that I suggested Fitz's. My husband said his previous experiences (from a couple of years ago) were nothing like this and he remembered the food being good... so maybe we came on a bad night. Pros: bottling company inside the restaurant was cool Cons: I didn't find it family friendly more

great service for one. great atmosphere. The food is fantastic and there are a lot of varities. Its a great place for any one really,including family.plus,you get to watch the bottling process while you eat. right in the loop and across from vintage vinyl,so you can enjoy it all. Pros: bbq chicken pizza, rootbeer floats more

Fun and unique place to visit 5/16/2005

I never hung out in the Loop until I moved closer to the area, but it is definitely an interesting place to hang out in. I recommend going to Fitz's in the early evening, and then afterwards, walk around in the Loop and visit some of the unique stores. If nothing else, it is fun to just people watch. I have been to Fitz's several times, and it is a nice change of pace. Only once was I able to watch them bottle Fitz's while I ate, and it was really neat! If you dont want to eat there, try one of their root beer floats! They are amazing!! Pros: Inexpensive, Interesting location more

Awesome 7/17/2002

I love Fitz's! The waiters are friendly and not just concerned with getting you in and out of there. The food is great, and priced good too. The surroundings are great, and very comfortable. It's in the middle of the Loop so if there is a long wait you can go shopping at one of the nearby, unique stores. more

Great Hamburger Joint 6/3/2002

My 13 & 14 year old boys think this is the greatest hamburger joint ever! I have had better, but the bottling in the background is a great sight to see. If we are ever near the loop, they always ask to eat at Fitz's. We also enjoy the walk of fame as we leave. Pros: Inexpensive Cons: Crowded more

Like watching paint dry. 5/27/2002

Came in from out of town. Used City Search and got some other good ideas. But Fitz's was not one of them. Called ahead for a group of 10 twice. Table not ready. 1. Food was poor - Chicken Parm was burnt in the fryer. TWICE. Hint it isn't supposed to be BLACKENED! 2. Service was slow - one server for the room. Girl kept apologizing about how slow things were. Said kitchen was worse. 3. Nothing to keep the kids happy while waiting for slow food. Watching a non-moving assembley line is like watching paint dry. 4. NO GAMES FOR ANYTHING FOR THE KIDS 5. Loud rap music so conversation was near impossible. 6. Free soft drink refils worthless when you can't find your server. Pros: Good Idea/Lame Try, Free refil/slow refil Cons: Nothing for kids, Poor Food, Poor Service more
