Gracie is staying on the rug, and is no longer pulling on the leash. The instructors showed us with their dogs rather than just trying to talk us through it.

Emma showed lots of improvement in her sit, stays, down and comes. I liked the fact that I was free to ask the questions on behaviors and having a solution to work on. Vince took the time to train me so I can continue the proper training. more

I was taught to help my dog understand me 2/14/2011

I enjoyed watching the dogs learn how to not run out the door when we are leaving. I liked the rug training method. While a work in progress withLloyd I like the idea. I liked how I was taught to help my dog understand me. more

Wow what a Joke. 2/13/2011

I wish i could give this place a zero or even less than a zero. All they want it your money they dont care about anything else I only went to 2 out of the 6 training classes because Vince couldnt handle the fact that my dogs barked. Im sorry am i not at a dog training place??? And my dogs arent supposed to bark thats ridiculous i wouldnt be at training if my dogs were perfect. Vince wouldnt give me any money back and would train my dogs anymore he stole my money and all he is is a theif. Never bring your dogs to first place its def not. More like last place dog training. Dont waste your money please. Terrible experience. I wouldnt reccommend this place to anyone and im letting everyone i know what happened to me. This place should be shut down. more

I enjoyed how to develop a closer relationship with Tucker and still have control of him. The instructors were very clear on their instructions and the purpose for training my dog. more

instructor taught me 1/31/2011

Marta has improved with all issues sit stay moving objects- especially with bikes- and scooters- and how for me to correct her right away. I enjoyed the confidence I feel with Marta can now sit and stay and come. The instructor taught me how to be calm and not Anxious. more

My dog made all sorts of improvements 1/18/2011

Izzy improved with stay-down-listening in general. I liked watching the overall improvement of all puppies. They helped with me with all questions or problems when they arose. more

She?s happy and not fearful! She has learned to ?wait/stay? and to come- or ?lets go?. I?m just thrilled that Sydney has confidence! and, is so happy. A problem we have when we?re home and she goes outside- but won?t come back in-the house the instructor gave us a few very good (and consistent) tips to try. more

Minnie is not chewing on my couch pieces and other dogs collars. I enjoyed watching her learn her own personal space. Vince answered all my questions and their practical uses. more

Not Suitable for Aggressive Dogs 1/3/2011

My dog was almost 2 years old when I brought her to First Place Training. The lady (I assume owner) who answers calls assured me they could train my dog even though I explained she was pretty erratic and aggressive. She told me that in 20+ years, there have only been 5 dogs they couldn't train and went on saying the facility gets dogs on their last chance and trains them all the time. I told her that our dog has been through obedience class so she knows sit/stay/etc. She replied "Can she sit and stay when 20 dogs run past her?" I responded "No way". She said that when she's done with training, she'll be able to sit/stay even when a distraction like 20 dogs run past her (needless to say, that didn't happen).\r \r When I dropped our dog off, I asked if I could see where they keep the dogs and the girl at the front desk said no. The girl kept asking me if I wanted to pay for her to have a bath or get walks. I was curious as to why walks were not included in the $359 per week cost. I to more

Liked the simple, no nonsense explanations 1/3/2011

I liked having Hunter around other dogs was good socializing for him and fun too! He got excited on Mondays when it was time to go to class. We liked the simple, no nonsense explanations about how dogs responds and behaves and thinks. Instructors constantly asked if we questions and answered all questions thoroughly. Instructors were patient and clearly love dogs. more

I have learned a lot 12/28/2010

I enjoyed the structure time to train Cooper with the presence of other dogs-even though I was stressed. They helped me learn to control and watch for signs of aggressive behaviors with other dogs. more

Vince showed me how to be more calm with Hershey, and Rocky, and how well they now behave around other dogs. The session was very informative and the instructors were willing to answer any and all questions. more

New methods to help work through distractions 12/20/2010

The mat work and distractions helped Image. I liked the ability to work around a wide variety of dogs and people. I enjoyed the interacting style so as not to let our dogs get bored. They described new methods to help work through distractions. more

My dog acts so well now 12/13/2010

Spruce learned how to sit, down, stay, rug training. The instructors taught me how to take time out when I am getting upset with the dog. more
