Firefly

This place is one of the top restaurant in the city, my opinion. I had lunch last week with friends here and we had great time. The food is great and so delicious. I had nothing to complain about this restaurant, but the price. more

Went there last night with a group of six and everything was absolutely fantastic! It was a Sunday night so it was a very chill atmosphere. We ordered a few appetizers which came out promptly. We ordered dates and proscutto, fried olives, calamari, fried green beans, and fries. I don't even like olives and they were delicious! For my meal I ordered the Farmers Special which was three courses for $25 or $45 with wine pairings for each course. Obviously I got the deal with the spirits! I was so please with everything, I will definitely be back and bring new friends to experiences this Fabulousness!!! more

Had one of the best meals of my life here 2 nights ago. I am a gourmet cook and was so impressed by everything ordered. There were 6 people and each dish was just delicious. Huge kudos to the chef. The pineapple infused vodka was also amazing. Yum yum yum. And we were able to smoke at a table outside. THANK YOU! Our waiter was adorable and sweet. The bus boys were as attentive as could be. Service was a dream in a town where fine dining is typically disappointing. As soon as my sister pulled her sweater over her shoulders, the overhead heater for our table was turned on. Very cool! Can't say enough about how pleasant our evening was! An all around excellent dining experience. Highly recommend! Pros: Everything more

""Fabulous"" is how my date described the night. The 2 bars and patio were packed with beautiful people, as always. The restaurant was full but we got great attention. The food, amazing, as always. THE GUY AT THE DOOR IS EXTREMELY RUDE..THINKS HES HOT SH**. HE ONLY LETS PEOPLE IN WHO GIVE HIM A CASH INCENTIVE. EVEN THOUGH ME AND MY FRIENDS HAD DINNER RESERVATIONS WE HAD TO WAIT 45 MINUTES BEFORE WE COULD GO IN. Considering it was a slow night, it was hard to understand why the server did not ask for our entree order till 50 min into our appitizer. Then the got my ribeye order wrong with a fillet. When they came back to me they even said someone was eating my ribeye at the other table and they could not take it back. That was a funny one ;) I am an easy going guy so I took it for a grain of salt. They did however get me a dessert but did not communicate that till the end as we thought they misordered that one too ;) Oh well. Nice ambience. Nice people. It must have been an off day. I live right down the street from Firefly and have been a semi-regular customer for about three years now. Luckily, we just discovered that they have opened on Sundays. We have two small kids, and although my husband and I love dining at Firefly without the kids during the week, it is great to know that are local spot, (in it's more subdued Sunday fashion) is a great stop for us and our little ones for an early Sunday dinner. The food and service are always amazing!! Pros: food, service, open on Sundays now!!! Cons: smoking more

This used to be a pretty decent place. It's gone downhill. They have an obnoxious and lame manager running the place. They make people wait in line except for people with whom this manager has a financial incentive to let in. These people are as obnoxious and lame as the manager. The crowd is pretty old too - I'm talking 50's. My advice is, if there's a line, don't bother. Head on over to NextDoor or Laurel Tavern where the crowd and atmosphere is WAY better. I live right by here and love going for a drink...but come on... the prices are REALLY high. I mean, its good food- but SMALL portions. Do what i did, eat first- then come have an appy and a glass of wine. The service is pretty lame for how much they charge. And we DONT appreciate you adding 20% tip for our party of eight to the bill right off the bat. 20 percent isnt even standard. I could understand mandatory 17 percent or something...but giving yourself 20%? PlEASE. Thats obviously the only way the waiters make money since their service definitely isnt worthy of it. Atmosphere is great and theres always a celebs somewhere in sight...but that isnt worth it for me to go often. I've been here a couple of weeks and this is by far the best night spot in the valley. With several different atmospheres you can easily find a corner of your own to share some drinks and good conversation. This so far has become my home bar. more

If I could post this review without giving them a star at all, I would have. They're totally not even worth the one star. My best friend and I decided to pop by Firefly last wknd for some drinks and some girl talk since it was near her house. There was a crowd of about 5 or 6 ppl outside and a doorman who seemed to be more concerned with himself that anyone who was there to spend money. While my girlfriend spoke to valet, I jumped out to see if there was a wait for drinks. Apparently my asking the doorman about this translated to a language he didn't understand because he completely ignored me. Moments later a moderately recognized celeb and his friend walked up and the doorman let him in and walked in behind them, leaving us all outside. My friend walks up and wonders why we're all standing outside since no one was at the door, so we decide to walk in - as well as everybody else that was standing outside. Once inside, the doorman looks up from his position of playing groupie to the celeb and realizes we're all inside and starts shouting and waving his hands. Then he decides to push my friend in the midsection to keep her from advancing further into the club! When is it okay to stop using your words and touch a woman?! How disrespectful! At this point, the celeb realizes he knows my friend and speaks to her. NOW the doorman attempts to ask him if he knows my friend but at this point, we're so insulted it didn't matter - there was no way we were spending our money there. She let him know that touching her wasn't acceptable and we left. To Firefly mgmt: Keeping that guy as your Friday night doorman is gonna get you guys in a lot of trouble. To anybody else reading this: Save your money you'd spend on a drink at Firefly, throw it in your tank and go get a drink at a real establishment that matters. more

I was so pleasantly surprised to find that my favorite hang out opened for Sunday dinner.It's really romantic and the food is awesome. I love how calm it is on Sunday, it gets pretty crazy during the week and sometimes it's hard to get a reservation, on Sunday that's not an issue. I totally recommend it! more

This is just a cool place to hang out. I've been going there off and on for years, and I've never had a bad experience. The ambiance is cool, the food is phenomenal, and if you take a date there, guaranteed impressive performance. Overall, the place has almost a ""speakeasy"" type of quality. You feel like an insider when you go, and the staff treats you accordingly. more

This restaurant is beautiful & the food is amazing. it's fresh farmers market, in season, organic. if U cant understand this concept & u want to come in & act spoiled or get our butt kissed than click your heads & go to 90210! this is a fast paced restaurant that gives U the quality 5 star food & if the service is off sometimes it's called being HUMAN! U put on the freakin apron & see how it feels when its crazy busy &then u will climb off that cross MARY! do not knock this place until U try it because it Is the best restaurant in the valley & the people who dont like it because they cant act up & be spoiled brats don't need to be in there anyway so that people like ourselves can enjoy it. firefly is amazing & so is the staff. i have the utmost respect for all their efforts from the servers ( who put up with the nut jobs) to the kitchen that can pump out consistent amazing food with beautiful presentation and excellent quality. my friends & i thank you FIREFLY! the moral of this story is, unless you OWN the restaurant U are going to, RESPECT the rules! BTW : the lounge area at firefly IS for FOOD &drinks! Thats why it is a ""Restaurant"" STOP BEING SO SELFISH! & when someone tells U not to put your feet on the furniture or do not take pictures because it's house rules.. have some respect & say okay. unless you own the place it's not your place to question how a restaurant is run! Totally agree with the last review!!! I come here all the time and would sell my soul for the Mussels and Baked Alaska. Not to be missed...plus the staff is really sweet and always takes good care of us! more
