CLOSED and I know why.... 2/21/2012

This was an upscale place that was overpriced for the area. Had they lowered their prices about $3, they might would have made it. They also had minimal advertising and offered no special coupons like the restaurant ""survivors"" did. Sorry to see another good place go..... more

IT IS NOW CLOSED FOR BUSINESS 1/17/2012

My husband and I have been to FireWater Chophouse in the past. It was way overpriced and the quality of the food was not even as good as Longhorn. The owners of this restaurant must have thought they were an exclusive restaurant with individual, cloth hand towels in the restrooms instead of paper towels. \r On January 14, 2012 we drove by and the restaurant was locked, dark, no cars in the lot and a sign on the door basically saying, ""Closed for Business. Thank you for your support"". more

WORST steak dinner !!!!! 12/18/2011

My husband and I are steakhouse lovers. We LOVE Stoney River and Chops in Buckhead are among our favorites, and we don't mind spending money on a good steak dinner. We thought we would try FireWater Chophouse because I had a Restaurant gift certificate. It was by far the WORST steakhouse we have ever been to and the prices are absolutely ridiculous especially for the quality of product that is being served. I started with a cup of the Shecrab soup. It was served in a small corning wear dish that was probably 4 oz. The soup was thin and had no crab flavor and just a few flakes of crab meat in it. The wedge salad as an upcharge of $2 and was itty bitty. I then had the filet which tough, chewy and dry. My husband's ribeye steak looked as if you would get it at Waffle House with two eggs served on top. It was cold and tough as shoe leather. I had to send my Cosmopolitan back twice because it was pure cranberry juice and no vodka. We found the service to be slow and inattentive. I am ABSOLUTELY amazed that anyone could give this restaurant a positive review. If you are looking for a GOOD steak dinner with attentive staff and a beautiful setting do yourself a favor and go to Stoney River. You'll pay the same amount and have a wonderful meal. more

Intimate atmosphere, delicious food! 7/8/2011

My husband and I thoroughly enjoy each visit here. It is a little pricey, but well worth it for a special occasion. The lighting is nice and intimate, and the place is quiet and classy. The dishes we've had were all presented well and absolutely delicious, prepared especially for the season. I couldn't have asked for friendlier staff. It is a lovely place and we'll definitely be back! more

Worst grade steaks in GA 6/24/2011

This place is not only a dump, but a disgrace to the Cumming area, the fountain wasn't working and hadn't in quite awhile, the waitress seemed like she was unhappy that customers were there, not that there were many there. As for the food, it was deplorable, my steak was so far from Grade A and tough as shoe leather. The sides were out of a can, and tasted that way. When I told the manager about my steak, he said "I have never had a complaint about our steaks " what a joke he was. They are obviously on there last leg and are buying cheaper quality food to hang on. Can't wait til they close and another decent steak house comes to Cummng !! more

This place is a dump! Avoid it at all costs 6/12/2011

I went there with a friend of mine. The waitress was wonderful. The manager on duty was the most rude person I have ever encountered. Food was cold, took forever to get and there was only 6 people in the entire restaurant. I had a coupon and the manager was reluctant to accept it. I am so surprised this place is still open. The fire/water feature has not been turned on in years. There sure is nothing special about this place. Honestly, Longhorn down the street does a better job with their steaks, and that is not saying too much. I hate to see businesses close in Cumming, but this one needs to. Not worth the money. Way overpriced. more

EXCELLENT PLACE 10/15/2010

We have eated at the establishment 4 times over the past year and have to say the food is excellent and fairly priced for the quality. We eat out 2 - 3 times a month and have never had a bad meal there! The specials are beyond the city . Scallops over apples and a lobster roll with steak with Thi dressing was in the $15.00 range- The place is not packed and has a wonderful upscale athmosphere, No screaming kids , or coloring books on the table,,,, Stoped in the bar for a night cap , nice singer , quiet and no rednecks We usualy dine after 7:30pm and there is always a nice group there, Staff is excellent ---- Just a good place I recommend it more

Way OVER Priced for what you get 9/15/2010

OK. I'm not gonna lie..loved my primerib but my GF did not care for her dinner. That being said...there was NOBODY in there eating. It was us 'placed directly in the center of the room' under a bright light while about 8 employees stood next to the kitchen watching us. Very akward. The waiter wanted to be BFFs when he saw me look at my Iphone4 and litterally stood there talking about his for 20 mins. Other waiters were laughing at him. Very pricey for avg food. I'm like others..drive another 10 mins to Alpharetta for a better dinner if you're gonna spend over $100. more

All Alone 9/13/2010

We went for lunch on a Saturday mid afternoon. The atmosphere is nice. Our hostess was good. The food was good.( Not great but good.) The problem we had was we are the only customers. Being the only customers the help gets bored and wants to take up the time talking to us. We wanted to have a conversation between just us. For the price I say drive a little further to Ray's Killer Creek in Alpharetta on Mansel Rd. You get the whole package. Any of the Ray's in atl are great. I feel cheated out of a dinning experiance. It is hard for Forsyth to have upscale. you can go 10 miles in any direction out of Forsyth and have a totally different experiance.Yes the bar has screaming red necks. All the upscale people leave Forsyth for entertainment and food, All the nice people moved and left the Red necks. Too Bad more

Terrible 11/26/2009

This place is terribe. Too many untrained, inexperienced employees. Go to Vinnie's on Windward - best nice dining OTP. If you don't mind driving to Buckhead, there is Bones. I prefer not to go to fine dining in the burbs because they insist on offering kids menus, having no dress code, and playing football on the TVs at the bar so you can hear rednecks screaming while you are eating a $100 meal. Pros: None Cons: Price, service, seating more
