I was not going to even give it a star - period. I have owned exotics and the owner - yes she is rude and the turnover rate with their employees is atrocious! I went looking for feeder rats, and I am sorry, although these rats are for feeders, they need to live a better life than just being thrown in a blue tub with barely any light and ll sexes together. For those who don't know, female go into estrus every FOUR days, so that is tons of baby rats! They take the pinkies from their moms(this is from a personal experience I had) and call them weanlings when they are far from being weaned!\r \r There was a young girl there with tattooes who actually knew a little more about snakes - pythons mainly, but as far as the other workers and this includes the owner, they don't know anything.\r \r Petsmart is now in Lawton, although their "specialists" don't have a clue either and their policy is you are not allowed to hold a reptile/small animal unless you buy it. Now, seriously? I want to make more

They have supplies that other stores don't have but the prices are ridiculous! The lady (I believe she is the owner) behind the counter when I go in there is so cold and rude. I have never seen her smile or welcome a customer. The younger people that work in there are very friendly and if they arent too busy are always willing to help. more

I had never been in this particular store and I came in to look around. After searching for someone so I could ask a question, couldn't seem to get anyone's attention, I mean COULD NOT GET ARRESTED! I tried to get a woman's attention but she just "cut her eyes" at me, like I had the gaul to ask! Folks, this is a c-o-l-d place to come to.....they could care less. It made me feel like tucking my tail between my legs. Maybe it was a bad day, dunno, but it made me feel so awkward, I just don't want to go back........ more

Wonderful place. Had a horrible experience at M&M Pet Shop in Lawton, so went over to Fins & Critters. Very helpful people. We purchased a beautiful little sun conure. They were very kind, gave us some free treats for our baby. They gave us a recipe for some bread to cook for him. The girl who helped us was very patient and kind as we decided on a bird. Would recommend all the way. 5-star. more

Fins & Critters pet store will sell you fish and tell you they won't get any bigger than they were at time of purchase, 2 inches... (actual adult size is 7 inches) They will say you can buy 5 of them and put them all in a 29 gallon tank... (each fish needs 30 gallons by itself, minimum) They will tell you they are perfectly fine for a freshwater tank... (they need brackish water cycled to full marine water by adulthood) They won't take 4 of the 5 fish back 1 day after purchase to resell for double their profit... (after reading about the fish i wanted to GIVE 4 of them back because i did not want the fish to suffer and die) All these people want is your money. They don't care about you or their product. Will never return to this pet store. more

They are VERY rude! I bought a puppy from them and ending up having to take it back due to allergies. They refused to talk to me about any refund, exchange, anything. I was simply told "put it on craigslist." Not only did the woman write down herself that the dog was dewormed, she sold me a dog that had worms! She bluntly LIED to me about the dogs health. Overall, the dog seemed as if it had come from a puppy mills. I returned to get my change and asked for the managers name only for them to tell me to leave or they would call the cops. Don't be fooled by these people--I sure was. more

I've been to Fins and Critters a few times and every time I enter the store I am greeted and I'm asked if I could be helped. I love to go in that store and browse even if I'm not buying. I love animals and its one of the few best animals stores in Lawton, OK. Keep up the good work.... more

I live in altus that's at least a fourty five min drive to this pet store. I really like this pet shop because they have better pricing and they have a better selection of animals than the two pet stores in altus have. I would recommend this pet shop to others and i have done so even to people in altus. The staff is very helpful at this shop. more

I honestly prefer M&M Pet shop, although the prices here are a little bit less. Here, you can buy 10 crickets for $1, but when you have small reptiles (such as baby beardies), the sizes of the crickets you get may be too large. Overall, most of the staff is helpful, but I don't think a pet shop is appropriate for bringing your child to work, as I've seen with one of their employees several times, and the manager never seems happy to help the customers. more

I honestly don't know what store you all have been going in. Every time that I have ever been in Fins and Critters the staff was rude and not helpful at all. I'm so thankful for PetSense!! more

Fins 'N Critters is definitely the cleanest and nicest looking pet shop in Lawton, but they simply do not take care of some of the reptiles there. Every time I see bearded dragons in the store, they are extremely tiny and are definitely malnourished. I bought one of their bearded dragons and was luckily able to bring it back into health (after having to force feed it a couple days). They never had pinhead crickets for the bearded dragons, so I was forced to take my business elsewhere to buy the crickets. Reptile owners should definitely look towards M&M pet shop if they live in Lawton. Better informed workers (employees there taught me several things I needed to know to care for my beardie) and bigger inventory for your reptile. more

Wonderful experience every time. I have been getting my two schnoodles groomed at Fins & Critters for two years. The groomer is gentle and loving with my dogs. I wouldn't go anywhere else. It is clean and professional. more

Fins & Critters is not only the cleanest and best organized of any other pet store in the area. They truly care about all the pets and the pets and the people that come into their store. They have suffered many difficulties over the last few years and yet they shine like the great people and winners that they are. Always giving and empathetic to any all that come into their shop. They are extremely knowledgeable on all the animals, either fins, feathers or furry of any nature. I really don't know why anyone would shop any where else, the are wonderful and talented people, up to date on anything their is in the pet world, from the breed to how to raise it and take care of it if its feeling poorly. She knows just what to do to take care of both pet and owner. They are a great asset to our community. Stop by and check them out and find out what I'm talking about! more

Fins & Critters is a great pet store for our F.I.D.S. (feathered/furry/fishy Kids. It is very apparent from the time you walk in the door that they take excellent care of the animals in the store and have a tremendous selection of foods and supplies for a wide variety of pets. This store has a great selection of fish and fish supplies. I love the way they seperate thier fish into seperate filter systems that way if one gets sick then they dont all get sick. I have always had good luck getting very healthy fish from this store. Thier prices are pretty reasonable. The staff is very knowledgable about pets and pet care. I have always found what I need at this store. more
