Another great performance 4/17/2013

As usual my car was fixed completely on the same day. And this was with no warning. My car just broke down first thing in the morning and we immediately dropped it in the parking lot at Fed Way Automotive. They had it all fixed before 5pm. Great work! As usual. more

High level of customer service, complimented by knowledgable and experienced mechanics. I suggest you bring your auto in for an oil change which comes with a 72 point inspection. Long, but important REVIEW ***Read Me*** before going! On Tuesday at about 4pm, I called Federal Way Automotive Radiator and spoke with a woman I believed to be Tracy. I asked if I brought in my radiator (out of the car) if they were able to pressure test it. She stated, yes absolutely, but Kevin (I believe was the name) had left for the day and she asked if I could come in on Wednesday. I said yes and asked what time he was off and she stated 5pm. I told her I would be there close to 4pm on Wednesday as possible with traffic and all. On Wednesday I needed to leave work early in order to make it there on time, leaving enough time for them to test it. When I arrived at the shop, Tracy remembered my call and began to escort me to the shop to speak with the person that was going to test it. When we exited the building, she must have not seen this persons vehicle, because she stated Oh, looks as if he has left. She was very nice and apologetic, I was slightly upset since I had to leave work early to make it there and she was aware I was coming from the call the day before, but it is, what it is, at that point. She apologized again and asked if I could come back tomorrow at the same time. I said yes, as I really needed this repaired ASAP. On Thursday, I once again left work early, un-paid time, to make it to their shop on time. My travel distance is about 30 miles during rush hour traffic which makes judging commute time tricky. About half way I decided to call to make sure the guy was there this time before driving another 10 miles past my house to their shop. A male (unknown name) answered the phone. I then described what had happened the day before and stated I was calling to make sure he was there before coming all the way. He said actually that guy has gone home for the day. I said, WOW, So you guys must not want my business then. He said, really dude. I said Yeah, really,I took off work early twice to come have work done. He then began to tell me something about the employees are paid by job and if there is no work they dont have them sit there all day. (Which I understand! BUT what about my appointment TWICEis that not work for him to do.) Then after his statement about cant sit there all day, he tells me, You Know, why dont you call Performance Radiator up the street, they should be able to help you. Now exactly what kind of business refers paying customers to their competition??? Why was my appointment handled this way, twice, by supposable professionals. I mean after all they do advertize themselves as Full Service Radiator Shop - Special Project Capabilities Clean/Test/Repair/Rebuild/Recore/Plastic-Aluminum Radiator Repair/New Radiators Available directly on their website. Apparently these services are only available when its convenient for them. And if this is the mentality of the people working there, I wouldnt let them touch a lug nut on my car because this is case and proof they dont care about customers or their customers time and vehicle repair needs! I am affiliated with Pacific Raceways and all the local hotrod shops (as they claim to be as well) so if this is the service they give to fellow hot-rodders, imagine what the John Doe would get?? RESPONSE FROM Federal Way Automotive & Radiator: Thank you for your review. We do apologize for all the inconvenience we have caused you. As you can understand, we do allow our employees to leave when they are caught up with their work/or have run out of work. If you could have left the radiator with us, we would have gotten a proper test on it but you were not comfortable leaving the radiator with us. I had a truck that has been sitting for 4 years and Federal Way did some work on it. They put their mechanic, Bill, to work on it and he did a great job. He unfrozen the engine and got my truck running again. He made me a very happy customer. more

Excellent Customer Service 3/15/2013

I recently had my Pick Up truck serviced by Federal Way Automotive and Radiator. The mechanic was very thurough in his diagnosis of necessary work needed. He found items that I was unaware of that needed immediate service for safety reasons. I use my vehicle for towing a large trailer and was extremely happy that he took the time to ensure my vehicle was safe for the kind of use it requires. All service was performed the same day while I waited. The office personell were extremely kind and made sure I was comfortable during my stay. I will certainly return for future service as needed and recomend them to anyone who requires regular service or special needs. Thank you Federal Way Automotive and Radiator! more

Unhappy Customer 1/25/2013

I've been going to Federal Way for a number of years. I had not had any bad experiences until the last time I was there. The mechanic left the oil cap off my oil container. I had to drive 100 miles and while I was on the road, my engine started smoking and there was oil all over the place. They could have ruined my engine. I understand that things happen, but Ron did not do one thing to apologize. I called him on it and he responded saying that the mechanic did not make that mistake intentionally and if the engine had been ruined, they would have replaced it. The mechanic, Matt, did apologize, he said he was very sorry it happened. The only thing that irritated me was that Ron showed no remorse. I was not pleased with this experience. more

I don't deal with shops very much because I don't like them. I've seen a lot of shops where they just try to take you for all they can get. I've visited a few of these and I wouldn't go back. That is not true for Federal Way Automotive. I only know of them because my mother-in-law's boyfriend started bringing their car there. I liked the way they dealt with everything. They were upfront with me. I trust my vehicles with them and I really don't like shops. For me to trust my vehicles with them says a lot. I'm happy with their prices, I feel that they are fair. more

I've never had a problem with Federal Way Automotive & Radiator. They treat women with respect, and never take advantage of them. That's one thing that is great and I love about them. Every time I've had my car in they take the time to explain what's wrong, and what needs to be fixed. They try to listen to you about what the problem is. They really do stand by their warranty, too. I've never had a problem with that. It's a great place to get the same mechanic working on your car from day one. They know your car, and they will learn your name and get to know you as well. I'm very particular about my cars and they do a great job! more

It started way back in 2004. I was taking care of a guy in Salem, OR and driving back on my weekends. I saw their sign that said oil change so I stopped in. They worked me in immediately and they did that every time I would come in for years. From then on it's been that kind of service. more

I've been going to Federal Way Automotive & Radiator for five to six years. They have always provided good service and done a great job on repairs. The first time I used them, my radiator was leaking and I took it to them. I was very satisfied with that experience and I later returned to buy a new radiator for a Mercedes I owned. Most recently, my daughter's car was not starting. They were supposed to come to my home and tow the car to their shop, but they were able to start it and they drove the car to their shop themselves, at no charge. They are just honest, hardworking people. When I have my car in there, they call me and let me know what's wrong, how much it will cost to fix, and if I authorize it, they proceed with the repair. I like them a lot and the service they have provided is what keeps me going back. more

I have had a fabulous experience with Federal Way Automotive. I am very friendly with Ron's wife, and I'm friendly with the folks there. Every time I need work, I take my cars there, and I refer people to them all the time. They're great mechanics, and I really enjoy working with them. more
