Best hair salon in town 7/17/2011

I've heard of Fay through so many of my friends. They were all very satisfy with her service. I thought I gave it a try and it was the best decision I've ever made. I never had such a beautiful hair color or cut before going to Fay. I would definitely recommend her to all of my friends or any body that wants to get a great service at a very good price. more

If you want to feel crazy go to her I think she needs to be on Meds she must be Bipolar or has borderline peronality Disorder. Very mean person has no manners she gives you a price over the phone but once you are in she charges you double. I don't know how she is still in business I have had a very bad experience and believe me I ahve filed a complain about her she made me very upset and she will pay for it. I hope she gets professional help cause she needs it. more

Wonderful salon 8/26/2009

Faye's beauty salon is a great place for anyone to get their haircuts.About 4 years ago I was driving by her shop and saw a grand opening sign and decided to try her out, I'm proud to say it was a good choice by me. She is nice to me, and all other clients. She is very professional and is always offering clients refreshments. She has tea available for her clients and candy available for children. She keeps very up to date magazines while you wait. She has a very comfortable massage chair available for clients. When I first came into her shop my hair was thinning and I was slowly losing my hair she suggested.a product to me as she always suggests her good products to her clients and my hair stopped falling out and got thicker. She also cuts my sons hair and is always nice to him and cuts his hair very well. Fayes beauty salon is a great place and anybody that reads this review should go to her shop. more

Treated like a dear friend, not just a customer 1/2/2009

I've been a happy customer of Faye's since early 2006. I visit her salon every month for about two or three hours, depending on the service I'm getting, and my teenager daughters and other friends are also her clients. From the first time I visited her shop, I felt right at home. It's decorated warmly, similar to someone's living room, and for good reason: you feel like a guest, not a customer, when you're in Faye's salon. She frequently offers refreshments to her clients as they wait, in order to make them feel more at home. She'll even set you up in her complimentary massage chair, if you like. Faye is a hard-working and very skilled stylist who takes pride in the quality of her work. My girls LOVE her salon, and Faye is very generous--sometimes throwing them an extra French braid or jeweled hair clip at no charge--just because she's a warm person who appreciates her customers. I've probably spent a few hundred hours in Faye's shop over the past three years, and I've seen her handle people in every situation--young, old, happy, impatient, timid, and difficult clients alike. She's very honest about what she can do for a particular client's needs, and understands as a business owner the value of customer satisfaction. She works hard to make sure everybody walks out the door feeling better than they did when they walked in. Because she's in business for herself, she also able to offer an excellent value on all her services. We love Faye! Pros: Warmth, quality, ambience, value more

Price Changer 5/29/2008

Faye's salon is a good salon, nice and clean, but there are two reasons i wont rate it the best, when you call her for an appointment and ask the price, she will give you a price on the phone and that makes you so exited because she gives you an incredible price over the phone but when you get there she tells you another price so that makes anybody desapointed, and the second reason is when you ask her to do your hair the way you want she will say honey! your hair is not good for that, then th's even more desapointeing,is she a hair stylist or what?that's wy people go to the salon to have their hair looking nice and as the way they want, but out of this two reasons everything else is okay. Pros: She has good products, nice and clean place. Cons: she doesnot have fix prices, everytime you go there is a different price,I suggest her to do flyers or something like that with the right prices. more

Rude, rude, rude 3/10/2007

Went to ""Famous Faye"" last Sat. for a haircut. Faye was sweet and talked me into coloring my gray sprouts, which I agreed. After the color, I asked for long layers (my hair is above my brastrap). Her haircutting method was a bit off - she didn't fully rinse all the conditioner out of my hair (she rinsed the rest out later after she finished the cut), she had me perch on the edge of the chair at times, kept tilting my head to the right, used a scratchy plastic hairbrush...but I was so tired after spending over 2 1/2 hours in the salon (mostly on a wooden bench) I didn't really check my hair before I left like I normally would. When I got home, my husband immediately commented that the back of my hair was lopsided sure enough, it was longer on the left side. So I went back today to ask if she can even out my hair. She was kind at first, and soon became very rude about it. She denied that it was lopsided, even after I showed her that the left side was longer. After taking a comb to it and then putting a shaver to it, she said it was even. I checked it again and it still was off enough by about a 1/2 inch - my hair is very straight, so it is very obvious). She said it was the long layers. She kept rolling her eyes, looking over at the other stylist and clients in the room. I tried to show her that the layers were very uneven on each side. She then got even more rude and said ""it is a hand cut, not a machine cut!"". I said I get it, thank you - and proceeded to remove the capelet from around my shoulders and leave. As I was exiting the door, she clapped her hands together and yelled out ""and don't ever come back again!"". Before I moved out to this side of the city, I went to swanky salons in L.A. but decided that I'd rather support the local neighborhood businesses after moving to Agoura Hills. I wouldn't mind the rudeness too much if it was a skillfully done haircut -but at the end of the day, I got a bad and cheap haircut from a rude lady. You get what you pay for. Pros: Cheap, neighborhood shop Cons: Initial sweetness is a facade, you get what you pay for - rude service and lopsided hair more
