Nat's is a basic eggs and cakes outfit. No highly refined waitstaff here, just freindly. \r

I can only comment on the meal I was served. It was the early AM special. Two eggs, 3 links, toast and home fries for $6. A pretty good deal by any measure. The eggs, meat and toast were standard fare, done right, but nothing special. But let's talk potatoes.\r

Now don't get me wrong, these weren't Mul's potatoes (Boston), something of legend. But right now I would love to consume better home fries in the Cities. I haven't found them (or at least these are top 3). Small reds, check. Evenly cooked, check. Lightly fried so there is a hint of crispiness, but not an overly drying of the interior. Fried with onions, check. And some fresh chives added for additonal flavor. They came out piping hot (a critcal requirement with good home fries) and were heaven. The Feb. morning was bitterly cold out, but the potatoes were hot, an exquisite contrast.
